    I am breaking down what it cost to run my 18k BTU floor mount Senville Mini split.
    I use it primarily for heating but it does an excellent job at cooling the house as well.
    Senville Mini Split I purchased - amzn.to/3XqomET
    House mount - amzn.to/3hZmdjr
    I believe I have saved around 50% on my heating bill compared to other years. In the video I gave a number of 330 dollars for my most expensive bill and 210 for my most expensive electric bill in my first year but that number is actually inaccurate because that includes my water, sewer as well as trash!
    I will break down a graph to show costs and number of kilowatts used over the last 6 years as well as discussing some pros and cons.
    This unit requires 220/240 volts and will need the orange 10 gauge wire and a 30 amp breaker (be sure to confirm these numbers with a professional electrician. This is what I used in my own research).

    dude thanks for making this video. it's so rare to find a video on their floor mount unit

    I also purchased the same unit, but mine is a 24,000 BTU. They also sent me the wrong remote and it’s hard to regulate temperature. I’d like to suggest for you to buy the cello breeze Wi-Fi thermostat that works off from the IR signal. That has made the unit run even more efficient

      That is interesting. I wasn't sure where the thermostat actually was. I heard both which I guess makes sense. Do you know if it can stay on the remote when you hit the "I feel" button or does it go back to the unit right away?

    Senville mini splits are made by GD Midea Air Conditioning. GD Midea Air Conditioning is the leading manufacturer for all major brands like Toshiba, Carrier, Goodman, Friedrich, Samsung, Kenmore, Trane, Lennox, LG, and many more private labels like Senville, Klimaire, AirCon, Century, Pridiom, Thermocore and much more. That's why many look similar. Each brand may spec different features

    Awesome video bro. Thank you! Quick question that I cant seem to find anywhere: Can the floor mount refrigerant lines be run low (under house and then up through the floor)? Thanks man

    • @aaron647
      @aaron647  Před rokem +1

      Thanks! Yes, any unit works the same when it comes to the lines. They can go up and than down or down and than up. It’s a closed system and is under pressure so it doesn’t matter. You may need to get a longer line set though to reach the outdoor unit.

    How did you connect the drain pipe to the floor unit? The nipple from the floor unit looks much bigger than the hose and there are no instructions.

    Is your house open concept or not? We are considering a similar unit for our downstairs (plus some sort of ducted setup for upstairs) but I’m worried it might struggle with our layout being not fully open

    Thanks. This is very helpful. Can it sit on the floor, or does it need to be mounted higher?

    • @aaron647
      @aaron647  Před rokem +1

      I believe it has to be mounted, however, you can mount it very low so it really is only a couple inches off the floor.

    Why is the wall mount more efficient. ??

      They aren’t. It just depends on the model. I’ve seen many floor mounted in the mid 20s. Just need to shop around. Really the difference between 22 seer and 26 is so minimal at that level. You might be pushing 50 watts more per hour on the 22.

    Did the line set offer up to this floor unit or did you purchase extensions? You installed ? I'm guessing not.. thanks

    • @aaron647
      @aaron647  Před rokem

      I installed everything on my own but a friend finished the final part for me because you need special tools and need to be licensed. The line set came with it was 25 feet and that was long enough for me.

    Aaron, some floor mounts (e.g. Fujitsu) provide the option to install the refrigerant lines straight down through a hole in the floor. I have a situation where I cannot drill a hole in the wall behind the unit. Do you have any idea if you can change the direction of the Senville floor mount piping? I contacted Senville but they just sent the installation manual which did not provide a definitive answer.

    • @aaron647
      @aaron647  Před rokem

      Yes, you can and in fact when I installed mine it was a real pain to bend the pipes to go out the wall behind. If you come up from the floor you will not need to bend them at all. The only problem would be that they may be espoused at the bottom

    I need an extra line set… The one that came with the unit is not long enough. Do you know which line set I need to buy?

    • @aaron647
      @aaron647  Před rokem

      You need to measure to see how long you need it. Keep it mind that it didn’t turn on a dime so make sure you go long enough. The company sells up to 50ft I believe.

    I have a pioneer and i have to adjust the temperature with it too and it doesn't make much sense as to how it adjusts temperature it very rarely matches what i have it set at.

    • @aaron647
      @aaron647  Před rokem

      Yea, it’s the biggest drawback. I’ve been messing with it different ways and have been trying to figure out why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. If I do, I’ll update the video.

      @@aaron647 I've been doing the same, I'll do the same and post it here if i figure it out. I've just bought a second unit to put in another house i have and it is the same brand but a more efficient unit it will be interesting to see if it functions the same way. The BTU rating is the same but wall unit is wider than the lower efficiency unit 32" vs 36" 20 seer vs 22 seer.

      @@kkmart43 Yea, I would love to know if you find anything out. I do know that I have noticed a difference between when it is colder vs not as cold. Sometimes it works perfect but when it gets warmer it tends to not run enough and when it gets cold it tends to stay on too long.

      My Pioneer mini split has a similar issue. After some research I learned that it’s likely because the room temperature is sensed by a sensor in the unit itself, making it not super accurate. Using the “follow me” or “I feel” setting on the remote causes the unit to switch to sensing the room temp from the remote, which helps a lot. Cielo Breez can utilize that function too.

  • @gravitationalvelocity1905

    One annoying thing with my unit is no LED panel showing temp setting like the wall unit, unless I am missing something.

      Should be a button on the remote that reads LED. This button turns the light off/ on.

    Better companies unit like who . These are all made in same countries. Fujitsu and trane similar none made in USA.
