This game just keeps getting better. I have known of this game since seeing it on TableTop with Wil Wheaton 11 YEARS AGO (HOLY SHIT!) Still never played it but need to!
Big respect to whoever it was that had to figure out how to scan and display a deck of transparent cards.
More importantly, after scanning, making sure there was still partial transparency.

I lived in Newcastle-under-Lyme for a bit, and one day a new guy came in and after a bit of chat about the local area, hesitantly asked my colleague “What happened to Stoke?” My very left-wing colleague replied “Margaret Thatcher”
I hope Laurie knows how bloody good of a host he is. I'm loving him as the host.
Laurie does seem to be managing the show better, mainly shown in the changes to the intro which previously was slow and clunky, but now is quick and fun.
I agree, he's doing a great job!

the new table & setup look fantastic! And Laurie is settling into the Host role so well! Also I'd like to petition House Rules resumes either with Sully & special guests or Sully and Tilly, as their energies are hilarious together!

I am absolutely STOKED at how Laurie is leading the channel and the energy in these games. The game choices, the set, the vibes, and honestly getting to hear more from Teri in the background lately has been hilarious. Thank you for another amazing episode!
What I like about Gloom is that it's a game that lets people improv just as much as you want to. You can have some players who are a bit quiet just play the cards in the same game as tale-spinners like Dom or Laurie. It's not like a game like Snake Oil which are highly dependent upon improv skills so Gloom maybe has a wider number of possible players

Gloom is such a good pub game. The plastic cards help with the drink danger and the storytelling can be as wild as you like! It'll drag in folk 😂

That was just a horribly depressing debilitating time that ended in the joyous occasion of a coffin full of weasels.
It was very funny when Sully just sort of gave up trying with tying the narrative together and just went "ghosts hate being pissed on" and then carried that mindset through the rest of the game.

I love Gloom. Especially when you can make ironic tragedies happen. I forget which family had the dog, but I had it where the dog suffers a broken bone. Reading this sentence makes me seem like a sadist.

Ooh Gloom! Im excited to watch this. I had a lot of fun watching Stumpt play the digital version of this a while back. They really leaned into roleplaying the families and trying to make up stories for each of the characters and working in the horrible/good life events into an overarching tale, it was amazing. Really gets you in the spooky mood!!

my favourite game of this ended up with giggles becoming an mp, meeting the queen and then dying of dysentery

and one character being haunted by a dead person, only for me to play the happily marriage card so they married the ghost

It is somewhat like this, except you are inept minions who has to explain to the dark overlord why you failed the mission he sent you on.
