I read this book in 2002 when I came out of prison after being locked up in 1998 .... I did my best to follow the instructions but at the time I was homeless and it was tough when things were out of my own hands..... Fast Forward 18 years to 2020 and I have my own house, wife and kids along with a heap of material things that would not of been possible perhaps if I did not read this book. Speak, believe, receive.... I can do all things in Christ whom strengthens me 🙏🌎🌴

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so proud to say Dr. Peale and this book changed my life many years ago. He even wrote me a letter to congratulate me! I had childhood dreams of becoming a baseball player like my hero, late Hall Of Fame outfielder, the great Baltimore Oriole, Frank Robinson. I had quit playing in college and spent a summer in a college library where I discovered a small book misplaced on a shelf. I decided to play again the next semester after reading The Power Of Positive Thinking. I used to recite Philipians 4:13 before every at bat! I'd say to myself, "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me, and I dare you to through a strike.." If it had not been for an leg injury I might have broken the college batting average record as I was still hitting over .612 half way through the season. I ended the season hitting .454, was named to the All-America team and becae a top 50 player picked in the major league draft!!! I later got to spend over an hour visiting my hero Frank Robinson and a private moment with inspirational author Og Mandino (who later wrote a basball story, "The Twelth Angel") . Thank you, Dr. Peale. Your work and ministry gave me faith to leap over my hurdles!

I take from your input the scripture you shared: Philippians 4:13 - “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me, and I dare you to through a strike…”. Leaving God and Christ out the picture of our life will certainly bring huge struggles and no faith; only faith in self, which is, I feel, a detriment to any growth in life. Love your faith in Christ. 😊

I lived a life of negativity. One day I turned my life to God and found the Power of Positivity. Now I listen to this audio book daily and read his work also. My attitude is slowly changing and I am happier, sleep better and feel better.
I was inspired at my first reading of this book in 1978. I had come to Christ, dirt poor, unlovable, confused, and careless. I took the particular thought “throw your heart over the bar(referring to the high jump bar) and your body will follow.”
The advice has never left me. Forty five years later I am General Overseer of my own church family, happily married, my wife and I have both completed our PhD, we have emigrated from Jamaica and are citizens of the United States of America, and the list goes on. I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me is a divine truth to the positive thinker.

I'm 21, and this has been a hard summer mentally, Jesus brought me to this book, and I can tell it's working for me, I've been struggling with negative thinking this summer, and I am turning it around slowly. The fact that you refer to it as a trauma bond tells me you don't need to be with anybody until you have changed that perspective about a relationship. Good thing that you actually recognize that you have been a contributing factor to it and not just a victim blaming the other party.

I bought audio tapes of this book back in 1999. I listened to it all the time and in a matter of a month, results started to show. I began over achieving if there is such a thing, I was invincible and immortal- not kidding. I would turn anything into gold 🏆 that I would touch. I was an eternal optimist and a serious believer in God, self and the universe. I made things happened.
I won between that period all the way until 2013.
I lost my way thereafter in the rigour of life. Life has been a downhill since.
My uphill and come back starts now in June 2021. This book 📕 is back, and so am I. Let's do this baby! 😊

God is not with us in our wrongdoings and evil; the Devil and Satan are. So please don't let us go on sitting back drifting and to misuse this into continuing mindless acts against God's laws of life, but dot he work , the practice. We could have a circle of mutual support for our good, right intentions, and success-reporting. DOn't know whether NVPEale says it, but change can't be done alone in isolation, - or very rarely so. Most who do, do have some support they aren't aware of. Esp men often seem to not own and even see the support they got from me. "Behind every successful man stands a strong woman". Who stands behind a succesful woman? that is right, we mostly lack it since birth: get less attention, stimulance, empowerment than boys, for natural reasons. That is why it's generally harder to succeed as a woman. Which also has biological Yin reasons.

I really wish people wouldn't bring the topics of the Bible or God into it. Many of us were horribly abused physically and mentally by people who spouted those topics while we were trying to grow up. It just brings to mind feelings of powerlessness and inadequacy. Not positivity at all.

David Quintana: I feel with you and want for you to be free of those negative emotions. Anger often comes from fear underneath, when we are not as safe and comfortable as we would like to and need. Or when you have not been treated well in the past and later over-react maybe. It is hard to tell without knowing more about what happened to you and about who you are.
Stress gives irritability and anger.
Cell phones and other microwave devices give stress and anger and anxiety, depression, headache, sleeplessness in many children.Also grownups, and many more symptoms. If you use the wireless gadgets or computer much, please stop and go play outdoors. In sunshine if you can, with friends if you have some.
You are only 10, so you need good grownups to help you and provide you with the good things you need. i still list the basics below and hope it can guide you.
And drink plain boiled water instead of coke and soda pops. Sweets gives aggression also, and can give low sugar inside the body, in the tiny parts called cells. This is called Hypoglucemia and can give anger/aggression, and even worse. The best thing is to live sugar-free and let the guts make natural glucose from whole grains like organic Oats, Brown rice, Buckwheat, Quinoa and Millet. (There is also Amaranth, but I find them too chewy and too long to cook).at For your parents to give you real good healthy food instead of junk. Lots of cooked vegetables like carrots and all the cabbage kinds. That will improve your feelings and calmness a lot, and also make you happier, content, and stronger.
Please eat 3 meals a day at regular times, (that will calm your body down) and
Go to bed early every night. It may sound boring, but will have a great impact on your mood and anger and feelings: I have been struggling for long too, and studied and researched for many years to learn how the body, mind and spirit function, as well as getting healthy.
If possible, check out Traditional Chinese Medicine and ask your parents to take you to a good such Dr. Anger issues have to do with the liver function, and they are god at helping with that.
Do you know íf there are 5G-installations near you, or so-called smart meters? They can give bad synptoms in people.

I do his vids on Getting rid óf Negative thoughts and ofDepression, which are related to anger, - maybe they work for you too. do you get rid of negative events in a good way? It ids very important. Otherwise it gets stuck for life, like I have since childhood, and can become diseases like Arthritis. It doesn't help to scream, shour+t, be aggressive etc, as I thought, or to complain/tell ppl what they do that harm me. I am nopt sure how to, am finding out though. Today I told my Mother to stop being mean to me, but she replied by swearing and +insulting. Then I told her that my illness comes from her abuse in my childhood. Don't want to harm her, but I can't take it any longer, and maybe she can take it , although she seems unaware when it comes to her behaviour. She was badly abused herself as a Chíld, and these things get inherited . Unless we change the chain. It is so good that you are working this already as a child. You must be an unusual boy. I wish you all good things and get rid of your anger.
If you can afford it, TCM (Chinese Medicine) can also help well. They call it excess heat of the Liver. There are foods and herbs to cool the anger too. (Don't experiment though, ´please).

I read this book in 1984. It truly helped in my gaining a better perspective and strength in life even when all seemed upside down. I recommend this book to everyone regardless of whether you’re going through a rough time or all is well in your life.

I am not a big fan of self-help books based on case histories, but i know Rev. Peale's teachings are based on the teachings of Christ, which i embrace with all my heart and soul.

Ask and It is Given and all the books and teachings by Abraham Hicks have brought me miracles all day everyday so I have no doubt every word is true and it is lovely to see how people like Norman Peale, Florence Shinn and Napoleon Hill were open to inspiration and led to understand and teach the same lessons if sometimes in different words in a way that people were ready to receive. I love how Peale teaches with good humour too. When you tune into God and your Holy Spirit - sometimes known as your soul or Inner Being everything just works out and laughter is divine. The bible which may have been greatly edited for various reasons and times is still full of teachings about the law of attraction such as the power of love, faith, turning the other cheek and the golden rule - and this is very true.💖✨🧘♀️🌸🦋💕♾✨🕊

I has this book downloaded on my iPhone and have listened to it many many times driving to work an hour and a half to a dental office in Santa Monica, Ca
This office had a crazy wife at the front desk and the son of the doctor hated me. I worked there 22 years .
When the Doctors son became a dentist , the son threw me under the bus . Lying about me , eavesdropping on my conversations with my patients and twisting the stories back to his father .
I was devastated when I was fired . I hope they both end up with testicular cancer .
I started listening to Norman Peale . This booked saved me from defeat.

After listening to half of this I fell asleep. I woke up to a phone call from my mother saying she disowned me because I had a heart attack and then my car was stolen and it was "too much stress" for her to listen to my problems. THANK YOU UNIVERSE FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!!!!!

I found this book and the teachings of Dr. Peale through the ministry of Reverend Robert Schuller. These teachings were key to strengthening my faith and helped me get through my college years in the 70's.

Yep, a gem of a book. I am glad I came across this
I have to say that this is one of the best books ever created. there is only one thing that was different for me in my experience with asking and receiving from GOD. Close to the end of this book, Dr Peale mentions focusing on one specific detail at a time and I do not disagree because I experienced focusing on one specific thing I asked God for a number of times and he gave it to me.
I would just like to add another experience of mine where I asked God for 5 detailed things at the same time and my wife is witness to this, all 5 was given to me at the exact same time. This book is mind altering and it is one of the books I hold very dear to my experience of being alive, thank you so much for sharing.

@@Sk6088 I was specific in what I asked GOD for on numerous occasions. I have asked God for money once, I asked Him sincerely in prayer right before I fell asleep and the very next morning my prayer was answered with the exact amount of money I asked. I checked my phone and an SMS showed me that I received the exact amount of money owed to me by South African Revenue Services as a tax return. My experience was exactly what the BIBLE mentions in Matthew 21vs22. Believing is very important, but I have to warn you that money can be dangerous too. The Bible warns us about the LOVE of money, 1 Timothy 6 vs 10. The Bible has all the answers you are searching for. I hope this helps. These are not the only scriptures, there are many more
