Now that i have seen this im guaranteed this is the problem. My car wont even start but the metal clip on the regulator is loose. Like it wiggles when i touch it. Due to it being Christmas nothing is open but .ost definitely will be purchasing this asap

    I have been having this same issue. I took it to the dealership. They quoted me $1,500. I watched 3 min of your video. I took off the intake hose, cleaned it, put it back on and my issue is resolved, so far. Apparently the oil change place over filled me. Thank you so much!

    Hi! Love that I stumbled across this video. Currently have a 2013 enclave with 115,000 miles, all of a sudden my mom decided to take it to town, engine reduced power, service stabilli track, service traction control, and check engine light all came on, and the car wouldn’t accelerate past 30. Got it home (barely) and checked for codes. I got p0089, p228c, p00c6. All relating to fuel pressure pump / regulator. Now that it’s parked, it will barely start, and the only way you can keep it going is by holding the accelerator pedal until it is warmed up and it will stay at idle, otherwise it dies immediately. Sounds like it’s running on 3 cylinders honestly. I’m really upset because I have had very good luck with this vehicle. All original parts so far, but now it seems the time has come to start making replacements. I would appreciate it if you had any tips for me (for the fuel pump replacement of course)! I am a beginner mechanic, and would love to get this issue resolved. Thanks so much!

    Hey, Prince. My name is Sierra and my husband, Rob, and I have a 2010 Enclave. It overheated the day we bought it (four hours after we bought it) but since then, we have replaced the water pump, and the thermostat. We bought a radiator, but we are poor so we are changing out the parts, ourselves, at a pace that isn't going to over exert my husband, who is disabled.. After we replaced the water pump, it hasn't overheated. We also used an OMDII and cleared out "Engine Running at Reduced Power." However, we are getting error codes P0496 and P1258. We have suspected that we have a blown head gasket, which we have the new gaskets, but are researching as much as possible and are studying our Hayne's Manual, before we attempt to do that. (We're inexperienced but not stupid, lol.) Since we changed out the water pump, it began to rough-start. We were told that is a battery issue. But upon researching the codes, we found it could be the vapor canister purge valve, or the Fuel Pressure Sensor. So, that's what brought us here. We enjoyed your video and will be subscribing. We're just dreading the possibility that we may have to drop our gas tank. :'( We have an 04 Expedition with a 5.4L that won't throw any codes at all and we replaced the entire fuel pump module [ourselves] on it, but it will not crank now. We replaced the fuel pump relay, and still nothing. I suspect the Crankshaft Position Sensor went out (I had a Dodge Ram with the same cranking issue that needed a CPS) and have that part, and since the repair of the fuel pump, we replaced the battery, and it still won't crank, so we must have screwed something up on it during the fuel pump replacement and now anything to do with messing with the gas tank has us nervous. Lol! It's been a bad year with cars for us. Our Expedition "died" in January with the issues listed above, then we bought the Enclave and it overheated before we made it home. So, while we were repairing the Enclave, we bought an 02 Corolla for $650 as a backup car, and while the engine runs perfect, now the front end steering parts are going out, one by one; faster than we can buy parts.
    I'm rambling, but I am glad I found your videos. We are now just really nervous that we may have to drop the gas tank.

    Prince, I have had the stability trac issue, but my enclave lost power it rev'd and died. I thought it was the exhaust changed catalytic converters, still wouldn't crank, thought it fouled the plugs changed those and checked good compression and checked good coils, still wouldn't crank. Cleaned the intake and carb did have a little oil in the intake hose, so it should have air and spark. Measured fuel pressure at 60psi, so it is getting fuel to the regulator. This should be down to the fuel injectors and pressure regulator, trying to decide which to change or both?

    Now the thing will only sometimes start, idols rough and the second I hit the gas it dies. Pro mechanics gave up.
    Do you think I should try this, or go for the Purge Valve first? Or something else?

      @@princeheath5233 Anytime! I do have a question for you if you get a chance. I have a 2012 Buick Enclave just like yours and it is experiencing some highway flutter at around 60+ mph (only upon hard acceleration though) but no check engine light or anything of the sort yet. The vehicle has close to 114k miles on it. I’ve changed both Pcv valves (v546 and v518), new spark plugs, coil packs, wiring. The main catalytic converter was leaking exhaust fumes from a bad weld so that was replaced as well. What do you feel may be the cause of the freeway flutter? I was thinking fuel filter but after watching this vid, now I’m thinking possibly the high pressure fuel pump/regulator may need to be replaced. Any guidance and insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The fuel pump is failing when your hitting the pedal and not pumping the fuel as needed.

    Hello Prince. I would to know your opinion. We have a 2011 Enclave CXL 2WD. It has 110K miles. Like a month ago it reduced speed on highway and showed "Reduced engine power", when my wife took it to Autozone for codes it showed several misfires. I researched the issue online and ended up cleaning the throttle vary and it worked perfect. The engine light disappeared when I reset the computer. No more issues until 3 weeks ago when were driving on the highway and the same situation happened. I took it to Autozone and the code was "misfire on injector 5". After I kept driving it the engine light disappeared by itself and the car was working fine until today. I was driving very slowly on the park and the same message came to the board, the car lost power and a lot of white smoke. I took it to Autozone and the code read misfire on injectors 1,3,5 and issue with fuel pressure regulator. Do you have an idea what could be the issue with this car?

    I have 2013 GMC Acadia that has had the High Pressure Fuel Pump replaced about a year ago, the vehicle has had a slight shuddering problem since. The shuddering has progressively gotten worse. Took it back to the dealer and their diagnosis is the the Torque Convertor is shuddering. It does the shuddering around 1500-2000 RPM's and we can push through it. I have also noticed the tach fluctuating while cruising at highway speeds. Do I believe the diagnosis from the dealer or do you think think could be a bad High Pressure Fuel Pump?

    • @tarapoche1
      @tarapoche1 Před 2 lety

      We had this same problem on our 2012 Traverse. Dealt with the shudder for over a year. Low speeds it would shudder/shake the car almost like going over small speed bumps before it would eventually stop from either more or less throttle. At highway speeds the RPM dances up and down by 100-200 rpm. We had the torque converter replaced and it completely fixed the issue. The shop told us that there is a clutch in the torque converter that tries to lock-up to save on fuel economy. It used to be that they would only lock up in overdrive. Now they can lock up as low as 2nd gear. The stresses of locking up while you are accelerating from low speeds is too much and the clutch ends up failing over time. I hope this helps. We scratched our head on this for the longest time.
