Imagine he STILL said "What's wrong, get up?" After getting a KO from Level 3
Ryu may be a little lacking compared to other characters but he does what I lovingly refer to as "Respectable damage." The line after his SA3 is like the cherry on top.
I just love that the music stop at his CA
Optimal Ryu when all the stars align is actually really fun cuz his combos and pressure is so varied. It's not just looped normals drive rush stuff

I keep wanting to learn more characters but every time I spend time with some other character I always want to return to Chun Li. I'll prob be a Chun main throughout this game's life. Thought Akuma was gonna def change that but Chun is so much fun I'm not even sure anymore.
Honestly... Luke is really fun to play, Getting perfect knuckle is a minigame on its own. Saying Beast mode, and going down to Tennessee is still funny.

Nah, I mean if YOU have fun, ok, fair enough. But he's a basic ass character. I feel u tho cause I like to play ryu, I know it's the most casual character of them all, but his heavy punch combos are funny as hell to do

Chun-Li is really fun to use so far. Quite a lot of tools to use with serenity stream.
Also learning Cammy which has been fun, she’s fast and her pokes have range.
Only Blanka players understand the advanced tech of jumping to the other side and pressing grab
Once you learn charge blanka is something fucking else in this game. Crazy fun

Look, even though JP is busted he's fun as hell to play as and I think he's been a great addition to the cast of Street Fighter.
He's far from busted, just got to know what you are doing and what he can throw at you. I beat him with Gief on the regular 😆

I'll admit during the first week maybe two I used to think he was a bit OP, now though unless it's a really good one he's cake.
JP is definitely top tier and probably needs to be toned down but the amount of hyperbole around him is insane. People are acting like he's metaknight or a literal SNK boss character. Agreed that he's a great addition to the game. Just a few tweaks and we're good.
IMO the true top tier fun, both to watch and to play is Blanka. The amazing movement, head splitting shenanigans, endless tricks, absurd gimmicks, hilarious expressions and extra creative animations always make my day, be it winning, losing or just watching a good player go.
Have you seen the videos from Sajam or Nephew going for Master with Blanka? The pure joy in their eyes while learning new details! Or MenaRD going totally bonkers against another generic Ken or JP, raw genius creating the most amazing stuff right in the moment.
Fun, wild and electric fun.
Blanka is the most entertaining when you don't play the game at all, but once you experience fighting him the hate will always be there.
I laughed har the first time i Heard what Honda says in EX Oicho, "Hungry? here's the beef!" Then proceeds to land on his huge ass in your face.

Lily is fun to me. Her gameplay is simple but it's fun getting in people's heads with command grab or condor spire
Also her crouch heavy punch is the most goated of goated anti airs AND it's amazing for buffering specials and DI.
She was my first character in 6, placed gold 5 with her, put her on ice to learn the system mechanics, and now I'm breezIng thru high plat with 68% wr

Most fun for me are JP and Modern Zangief. Instant SPDs and Level 3s all day.
Man, I have been saying for some time zoners can absolutely be fun...having to generally keep the oppenent away, and work really hard to not be punished to much once they do get in, it makes matches so exciting. Its like you are playing Resident Evil all of a sudden. However, JP is only as fun as he gets you wins. Dhalsim is by far the most fun Zoner in this game IMO.
Luke for me is really fun, I know he is like top tier but he is like honest top tier in my opinion. His normals are hella good & he has 3 of the best supers in the game that gets meme a lot, WE"RE ALL GOING DOWN TO MEMPHIS! Also if I were to pick the other top 2 choices it would be Jaime & Manon, mainly I love how they played but also I love dancing fighting characters like those 2.

@@DeathDasein Ken has more plus frames than Luke's win streak in tournaments and that's not counting his over power 2 best moves he received in SF6. Why else is everyone on the fence with both JP & Ken all the time!
@@akilcharles3473 Luke normals move forward and his target combos are braindead, he has a cheap fireball and 3 good SA. Ken's SA1 and SA2 are not as good as Luke's.-
Aki is a fun character, but it's also fun to win, and that's where she looses out

I started the game with Ken and had a blast. But I've never played a grappler so I wanted to try Manon. She's my true main. She inherently adds to the mental stack of getting grabbed and that alone allows me to do what I want.

Manon is really fun as a secondary, but I have no interest in optimizing her. To me she's a lot like Marisa in that regard. Just really fun to run their basic gameplan and just try to get better at that, but getting too sweaty with them kind of sucks the fun out of it for me. Chun is way more fun for that kind of playstyle.

I think lily is pretty fun. She's basic, and sucks, but nothing feels better than absolutely mauling someone in 20 seconds with lily

Dee Jay has been one of the funnest characters for me. But I'm ngl, I haven't played since season 3 of Strive dropped. Just prefer to play it personally.
I agree with Juri and JP being kinda boring. I got my highest placement playing badly with JP, 6/10 and still got Diamond. JP is for people who have fun winning rather than exploring a character and getting into peoples heads
Idk about that last part, imo the fun part about JP is the amount of setup potential the character has far more than everyone else in the roster. Not super sure by "getting into people's heads" but I do think it's far more satisfying punishing screwups with JP more than most of the fact
Juri's kinda boring though. Fun because she's technically relatively simple, which is fun (with the hardest thing about her being FSE stuff), but like even then Juri feels like one of the most linear characters in the game
Ryus the most fun, when you land those combos that do over 60%, you do feel like a god, he’s defo way more fun than ken

the good part about JP is that we get to watch players like Moke and Snake Eyez dismantle Kakeru and Reynald respectively.

Literally all character I never even dare to touch you guys pick up.................Juri, Cammy, Blanka, Ryu and Chunli will be for me.

I master ranked random and I can say that every character is actually fun (except maybe Juri) but I would agree with their list and throw Ken in there for how fun his broken move set is

@@ryo-kai8587 its a shame that Juri has been simplified to 3 options: spamming low medium kick drive rush, spamming Medium Punch on block, or drive rush high/low mixup. I loved her in SF4 and 5 but shes boring in a game full of fun characters
@@guy543215 Thanks for the response. I can see that after maining her for a while, she does indeed have limited options to get in, and that's part of why matchups like Guile are so difficult. Dive kick is punishable and has to be a read, etc. I still personally think she's a fun character and love her agility, but I can see where you're coming from, and I really feel her bad matchups when it seems hard to approach.

Ken is too fun in this game. By far the most fun version of Ken in history. I think the player base agrees, he is by far the most popular character in the game overtaking Ryu!

Honestly, JP is by far the most fun character to play. Only reason I don't play him as my main anymore is cause no one wants to be around a JP player for too long.
Well, that and Capcom has a history of only letting characters stay good so long as they are mad boring, so I know he's getting nerfed into the ground eventually.
I'm doing the opposite with Manon. Get good with her now and when she inevitable gets super buffed, I already have her mastered.

@@jordantian8861 they are really different, their gameplan it´s not the same, nor their speed, neither their damage. The fireballs and DPs are different also, their normals and their combos. Ken it's not a "better Ryu", maybe it's a "worse Akuma".-

Ken, Juri, Kim and Cammy are the unquestionable carried characters. Can't speak for top of the pyramid but 90% of them play the same and spam the same string because of the bs advantages they have,it's ridiculous. Manon is up there as well. Bar that it's a great well rounded cast. Roll on my main Akuma
Ken and Juri definitely carry. Cammy less so - shes good, but dive kicks arent brainless in this game and are easily stuffed. I wouldnt really say Manon is carries - her strongest thing is her medals and. when you compare it to what someone like Marisa or Gief does, its not all that.
Manon isnt quite as annoying but she's on the line lol The fact she keeps her medals yet my boy Jamie loses his drinks is nonsense.
@@LJAndrews1986 Because it's nearly impossible for her to get 5 medals on the first round. She has to go for a committal command grab, or a hit-grab from an easy combo but that means she has to purposefully bring out one of her worst flaws: her neutral. Meanwhile Jamie can sit back and drink whenever he wants, whether it be when both opponent's are on the other side of the screen *(unless they are a zoner)* or when he gets a hit off of certain moves. When he had the ability to keep drinks over the course of the entire match, he was shown to be undoubtedly the best character, meanwhile Manon- even with the ability to keep medals- is considered often *worse* than current patch Jamie.
She has no Drive Rush, it basically doesn't exist with how slow it is and how little it travels. She loses to Drive Reversal hard. She has to preemptively check Drive Rushes from the opponent. Her pressure is okay. Her neutral is horrible. Her defense is miserable. And she cannot fight zoners.
Jamie has a lot of similar issues aside from the issues with Drive Rushes, but he gets new bonuses with each drink and they are pretty substantial to how he approaches the round. Manon simply gets a damage increase and that is it.
Manon isn't carried, she needs buffs badly. The only thing that is good about her is her medals and somewhat decent pressure.
I wouldn't mind losing 1 medal every round for huge buffs to her Drive Rush and some speed adjustments to some of her pokes so she can actually counter Drive Rushes.
If anything, she is carried by players like iDom.
I wouldn’t say that about Cammy, lots of counters to her unsafe stuff. I have like a 70% win rate against her
And statistically looking at win rates across all ranks, E Honda is the best character to Mickey Mouse your way to master. Has the highest win rate of all chars across all ranks.
