Students in the GIA Graduate Jeweler diploma program learn hands-on how to work with gemstones and precious metals such as platinum, taking projects from castings to finished, set, and polished pieces. Hello Jasons ,it is possible combination pt.950 OS? (Platinum 950 osmium) , or become to brittle??because I'm interested to increase scratch resistance, and i love slightly blue color of Osmium. TANK YOU.

Hi Lucian: We are not aware of jewelry made with osmium or with a platinum and osmium alloy combination. Osmium is regarded as toxic and has a higher melting point compared to platinum. It is also brittle and uncharacteristically hard which makes it unworkable. It is not compatible with jewelry making methods or jewelry making tools.
