Amen to the production quality/information! As a fellow guide in the field…I wish I could produce travel channel ready production but alas. So I aim for great info. Your info has really helped my DC trips so thank you!
If I spent all my time making cinematic videos I wouldn't have time for tours so it's a tradeoff.
I have been subscribed to this channel since 2018 and I have been watching videos ever since and my 1st Trip Hacks DC video that I have Watched is the Does and Don’ts How to Ride the DC Metro
Enjoyed the behind the scenes Rob. We found your channel around 2 years ago when we first started planning our trip to D.C. which will happen in August. My wife seems to recall the first video we watched being about Smithsonian.
We love watching all of your content, and have found it so helpful in planning our week in D.C. to hopefully include a personal trip with you.

Hello Rob, I've been watching for almost 3 years I believe, and the first videos I watched were either the Obscure Monuments video or the Cheap Eats video. Super fans here! We also hate ads. We’re planning a trip there this summer to take our children. We’re hoping to book a trip with you. Would you recommend a Sunday tour or the evening/twilight tour with 3 kids ages 8, 11 & 14? First time trip to DC for the kids. Thanks for all your videos. We prefer content over quality - and enjoy how human and personable you are. Keep up the great work!!
Sounds great! Since my private tour schedule is fairly limited this year I recommend getting a reservation whenever you can fit it into your schedule.

Great behind the scenes video. I can't remember the first Trip Hacks DC video I watched, but I found the channel after my first ever trip to DC, which happened to be in August, so it was a touch on the warm side. That trip taught me a fast lesson on trip planning and researching. 🤣
I was way off on my earnings estimate, I though somewhere between $750 - $1000. The content is far more important to me than the quality, that said, audio quality is far more important than video quality. As for ads, I only like the ones I can skip, most of my CZcams viewing is done on a TV, so I don't get the banner ads, but I get a fair few ad breaks, and that gets old if I can 't skip them.
Hey if you guessed 750-1000 I guess that means I'm not doing too bad! I try to make the sure the unskippable ads are disabled. Hopefully there aren't any that sneak through. I have CZcams Premium so I don't always know what ads folks see.
Hi Rob, I'm superfan too. I'm from the Czech republic and I have benn subscribed for three years, when I was planning a trip to DC. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to get there because of covid, but I keep watching your videos. What's for sure, you should have more subscribers.

I'm absolutely a super fan. I've not quite been with you from the beginning; I discovered you whilst waiting for a delayed flight to BWI from Toronto in late 2018. I've loved your content ever since. I like that the quality of the information you put out is informed and well researched. I prefer videos with quality content over showpiece numbers. Sure, decent production quality is important; but I'm happy to have a more 'real' video with quality content over flashy post production stuff. It's been more than two years since I've been to DC and I've had some health issues in that time; once I'm cleared to travel, you can be sure I'll be on one of your tours. I think I also owe you lunch! Thank you for your content. PS - I guessed your CZcams income at about $5000, so wasn't far off. Like you, I'm not a great fan of ads on videos, but understand why some CZcamsrs pursue sponsorships. I think if you found a sponsorship that aligned with your brand and personality, I wouldn't be against it.

Hey Rob, started watching Trip Hacks DC in late 2018 when was preparing for our family trip to DC, NYC, Toronto and Niagara Falls from the UK. Not sure what the first video was but would have been one of the ones about using the DC metro. I liked the way you responded to the questions I had such as when the Washington Monument was reopening, sadly it wasn't open when we visited as the reopening was delayed. Love watching your videos still as reminds me of my planning and my time on our family holiday, plus you always have time for a reply and deserve more followers. I think this video is one of your strongest, love the music you have used and it is informative but relaxed/laid back. As for the money you made in 2021 I don't think that is a lot, sure this will grow though with your videos being informative and interesting, especially love the live streams. Maybe take camera along and film some parts so can see what your tours involve, good idea to give a taster to potential visitors perhaps. Content is definitely my preference but have never noticed poor quality from your videos, you have always made good videos and I like the way you have been mixing it up lately, rather than starting with "let's get started" (sorry but not a fan of that, especially the finger point 🤣.) Maybe a video with you walking with your dog's as well, dogs are always good to get good views 🐕

Hey, Rob. I met you on the mall about a month ago very briefly. I was just checking this video out because I'm a fellow guide and was also thinking about posting a day-in-the-life vid on my channel.
The thing about ads is that, unless you pay for CZcams premium, there are already ads throughout your videos. During this video, I had two ad breaks. I was across the room multitasking, so I couldn't skip them. I get that it's different because the ad would be embedded, but just throwing out there that ads are still occurring in case that sways you in any way to get them to work in your favor. As you said, it's still not easy to do. Anyway, cool video. See you out there.
The difference as I see it is that anyone has the ability to pay a small price and turn off all CZcams generated ads (well worth it in my opinion) whereas embedded ads are impossible to avoid.

You forgot to tell us what brand and model of travel tripod you use?? Also. When it comes to videos... fir me it has to be good quality + good content!! If the quality isn't good, I won't watch long enough to get to the content. That being said, if the content is good, it doesn't matter how good the quality is as I'll get bored with a "useless" video pretty quickly and start looking for something else that better meets my needs. In my opinion, your videos deliver well on both quality and content. My guess on your yearly CZcams income was $5,000. superfan :) I am fine with ads as long as there are not too many. If you had one in video sponsor I would be totally fine with it. If you would get local brands that could actually be helpful. And I was guessing 1000$, but not that I would have an idea.

Congratulations on 5 years. I have only recently subscribed because we are planning a camping vacation to Cherry Hill camping resort in MD. May 19th-22nd to take my father who is a vet to the monuments. We are coming from Maine and also have family coming from PA as well. I have filled your channel closely especially to keep track of covid restrictions as well. We have been to DC before and we can't wait to visit. Again. Thank you for all of your informative content.
