      Hello Rene, thank you so much for this feedback! Another video just came out. Our journey is rather different than originally planed, due to Covid19, but so be it. We hope to make it to California this year, but need visa first...

    You really highlighted just how hard it is to get back on board when there is even a little bit of swell! I'm glad you already had a plan for using the spinnaker halyard to hoist Mathais back up. I'm now rethinking our re-boarding plan (we have a 47 on order for delivery in 2021).

      have a look at this: czcams.com/video/A2OHfTZQ42g/video.html
      we have it on board, but have not driven a mob manoeuvre with it yet. We want to attach it to the end of the boom where the dinghy lift is.
      Just as an idea.

      @@birtefilms sorry if this is a dumb question but couldn't a rope ladder be used to hang down into the water for easy climbing ?

    • @birtefilms
      @birtefilms  Před rokem

      @@The_guy_on_the_internet We actually have a rope ladder, but it is also not easy to climb, because it does not stay stiff, but follows the curvature of the hull. So with the ladder it is a bit like climbing an overhanging rock.

    Hallo ihr Weltreisenden. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zusammenfassung dieses Reiseabschnitts. Sehr schönes Lied: 'English_Country_Garden' :-) Hatte ich in meinen Videos auch verarbeitet. Da kommen sofort wieder Fernwehgefühle auf. Wir freuen uns schon auf die nächsten Videos. Euch alles Gute weiterhin und bleibt gesund!

    What hull number is your 51 as currently looking to purchase a 51.

    • @birtefilms
      @birtefilms  Před 4 lety +1

      Our hull number is 14, but there wasn't a number 13. We bought the boat in Feb. 19.

      @@birtefilms Fantastic I have been speaking to the dealer in the UK and he told me that 24 have been built so far I am taking the plunge to start the build of mine from the first week of August. What is the build quality like with yours as no there has been a few issues in the past but apparently now there taking quality seriously?

      @@SCYorks I don't know if Neel works any differently now, but I think as with any shipbuilder you will have to take a close look at the details. Have a look at this forum neelownersgroup.createaforum.com, there are a lot of owners reporting their experiences with the Neel Trimarans and you can learn, at what to have a closer look at during the building of your own. Also collect ideas how to costomize your Neel.

      @@birtefilms Thank you I have had a look since and it seems about average for boat issues I've recently sold a Discovery 55 as my partner refused when we start our circumnavigation to be healing all the time.
      What are the reefing speeds with neel 51 as not found any data regarding reefing speeds?

      @birtefilms  Před 4 lety

      @@SCYorks Send me an E-Mail via our webpage trimaran-san.de/about/, I can send you a copy of the page out of the owner's manual for both rigg types. However, they don't give the reefing windspeed depending on wind direction.

    How fast can this boat go in 10 to 15 knots of wind

    • @birtefilms
      @birtefilms  Před 3 lety

      It depends on the angle to the wind and how much load the boat carries. But it can reach 10 knots in that kind of wind.
