- The Rainy Season begins around the middle of May in Bangkok, but for many it officially starts on the 1st of July. Last Night we had some heavy rain and I had a walk to enjoy the sound and Monsoon atmosphere.
Walked from Nana BTS station towards Soi Cowboy, past Terminal 21 and Sukhumvit 23. Sukhumvit 23 was flooded as always.

Bangkok looks so vivid and colorful in the rain, especially at night. I enjoy the rain videos.
There is something satisfying about heavy showers, especially with thunder, in the tropics.

Jeroen, your absolutely correct. You just plan your day knowing what hours to expect the rain. We have a rainy season here in Florida and you adapt. We also have a very active hurricane season here too. But having lived in Florida for the past 55 years, you learn what to do and what not to do. I haven't watched many video on Thailand in the last few months because every time I do, I feel Thailand pulling on my heart. I miss Thailand, the people, the culture, the food, the malls, the incredible transportation systems...
Just leave Florida for Finnland Norway or Denmark!Dont waste more time in Florida,its a horrible place!

I got so lucky when I was there from June 4-11, there wasn’t a single drop of rain, maybe on my first night there. Plus it wasn’t as humid either. Definitely want to come back and visit my homeland again ❤

hey, love your vlog, very informative, well I have a question, do you consider this a safe period to visit thailand with family especially bangkok and phuket areas?
I got caught in that downpour last night on my way to W District in Phra Khanong. W Market (an outside beer garden as you know) had big umbrellas up so it was possible to sit there. But I got thoroughly soaked getting there.

We were back in our hotel by the time it rained :) we got lucky to not have much during the day while we were out. We are staying near the Phloen Chit station on Witthayu rd. Any ideas where I can take a 12 yr old? It’s too hot for anything outside. We did bowling and a movie already, aquarium tomorrow.

How long does it take to dry out your shoes? We can’t wear flip flops in that much rain, they get slippery like a banana peel. What do you recommend for footwear in a torrential downpour pour?
I bought hiking shoes and use them now. Before I used an old pair of sneakers. You are right flip flops are slippery when you walk through water.
