That’s right about a horse getting dull. We get them dull, we can get them soft again.

Great conversation. I find your all's thought process of the bridle very similar to my own, especially the comments regarding how many spend too much time in the snaffle and or hackamore. Thanks for posting this chat.

I have an old Salinas ( Original Garcia) that was given to me in 71 by a close friend. I finally put it up. If it was in the saddle house I’d still be grabbing it. I’ve had the roller replaced once and the roller bar replaced 3 times. If I used it right it would just take a whisper. Horses just liked it after they got their teeth all in. Damn I miss it.

"If they got a bridle mouth put a bridle in em and play ball" I love that. I have a wall full of bridles and one that I use quite often and on almost anything.

Please show a picture of the "worn out" bit you were looking at, the tack room was dark. I have a 1970s Sliester roller bit that I've ridden most horses in, (not colts) and they do figure it out. Thanks for the videos, enjoying them!

A closer view of the bridle under discussion would be helpful.

Legs, seat, then bridal as it should be the least of your thoughts!

being as the bridal is the most dangerous piece of my equipment, it is first in my thoughts. It is still the last thing I use, seat, legs, then bridal, but it is always foremost in my thoughts

You talk about bridle mouth. What do you mean with that? 😊
