The amount of silver is not what was weighed, I doubt very much it was worth $12.50, if he’s lucky maybe 12 cents.
The silver is not pure to begin with and almost certainly just plated on copper.
That’s why you only see people in third world countries making serious efforts to get the metals from electronics.

Our gold season is almost at the end for a few months. Water is almost gone in the creeks and the desert is going to be over 100 degrees this week. Now we need to be creative to prospect.
