  • The Blue Line is one of the three Stockholm metro lines. It is 25.5 kilometres (15.8 miles) long, and runs from Kungsträdgården via T-Centralen to Västra skogen where it branches in two, and continues to Hjulsta and Akalla as lines 10 and 11 respectively. The Blue Line is notable for being the only line where one can find the old 1980s C14 cars operating, albeit they are increasingly rare and difficult to find. These cars are due to be retired very soon. It is also notable for its incredible architecture, and the abandoned Kymlinge station, which was constructed by never opened. This video delves into both the Kymlinge Station and the old C14 cars.
Enjoy this look at an incredible metro line!

Ahh yes my childhood trains, along with the C20 trains. These trains will always have a special place in my heart, and its sad to see them go as they are so characterful and so nostalgic to me. Love the video btw!

Can’t wait for you to see the stations in Stockholm. There are a couple breathtaking ones. There is an app that has an audio tour of the art out there.

Those C14s look like they're in stunning shape for something that's about to be retired. They're definitely dated (and the chopper controls can't be tremendously efficient), but the finishes are still shiny, the announcements are clear, and they look clean enough to eat off of.

Agreed 100%! They look like solid cars, and seemingly could run for many more years.

@@DJHammersTrains Wonder if MTR will try and shuffle them along to another system - maybe one in some developing country somewhere.

I looooove the C14, a big part of my family live in Stockholm and they are just part of my childhood. I thin you should visit the Munich or Berlin metro one day they do have very old trains

The blue colored trains sound like the Redbirds from New York City.

The model was originally based on New York subway in the late 1940's.

Everything is clean, well maintained and working, even if some of the rolling stock is 40 years old...the platforms are so neat and shiny you could eat off them. If you're from Berlin like me, these are things that immediately spring to your eye, because here it's the complete opposite. 50+ year old trains only holding together because of the paintjob and stations that look like waste dumps. Public transport can be so awesome when the responsible parties actually care about it.

These were retired WAY too early. A modernisation would have been a good option.
They look a bit like Soviet 81-717 (Номерной) trains, especially with the livery, and some design features, same with all other Cx trains.
A big part of my childhood is now gone, and i will have to accept it.

Interesting that the newer cars have stainless steel stripes instead of a smooth surface like most cars in the USA have…
