Funny enough this is one of my favorite boss rages because Steve is the "victor" of it. I dunno why, I guess its cool to see that its not just Max that can pull off these ridiculous challenges.
Was the first boss rage I tuned in live to watch and it was so hype, made me watch more of them on twitch 😆

It was actually Steve and Kenny who put Max on to the Mortal Kombat series. I mean Max knew Mortal Kombat, but Steve and Kenny are pretty hardcore fans of them. To me, it seemed fitting for Steve to complete the challenge, but it was still cool to see a boss rage done in a group effort.

GamerHats When he was talking about Shao Kahn he was right. Shao Kahn, Goro, and Kintaro all fight the same. They all have armored attacks and they basically only spam special moves. THey're problem was that the were fighting them like they would fight any other character. The best way to kill those 3, as they bfound out in the end, is to spam them harder.

That win man...you can still feel that "edge of your seat" suspense as Steve chips Shao Kahn down closer and closer, even after seeing this a bunch of times. Great editing, and great moment for the channel in general.

Its funny how most of these boss rages feature destiny levels of victories. Winning with Ken despite avoiding him the entire rage? Defeating oni with Ryu? Shits nuts. Then when the day comes for max to play dissidia, he'll probably beat it with cloud
DeathgGod Staying away from Ken? Which rage was that, 3rd Strike? As I recall, Ken was the one that got to Gill, and after he went down he switched to Seth and even Ryu before returning to Ken and getting it.
Revisiting the old Boss Rage videos as I unwind from work and get ready for bed. This video reminds me of how long it took me to clear Challenge #300. Felt like a whole 2 days before I cleared it, for at least 2 or 3 hours each day. I remember my total combined playtime to clear all 300 challenges, without skipping a single one, was about 42 hours or so, stretched out over roughly two weeks.

Kenny putting his self in the "BOX OF SHAME" was hilarious! It was frustrating but fun to watch, I still can't believe I stayed up with them the whole time! Washed clothes, talked on the phone, watched movies, even played a few games myself and they were still on this challenge...decided to lay down on the couch and had to hop back up because Steeb hit the last second 3 pointer! On this day, Steve did not pull a Steeb, lmao.

I remember how difficult final boss Shao Khan was in the story mode. So difficult it reduced me to tears when I finally beat it. I was a kid at this point and it was an incredibly hard fight, more so than any other had been and I had to do a lot of cheesing to actually win. I still remember to this day how bad it was.

So this challenge was basically a call back to the end game of Shaolin Monks when you had to fight Shang Tsung, Kintaro, *and* Shao Kahn all on *one* life bar.

Josh d Except Max was looking for "scumbag tactics" to use during the boss rage. One of his first options for the single player arcade ladder boss rage was to use Stryker to put Goro/Shao into a stun loop since the double tap gunfire would knock them out of whatever move they were doing.
He had to stop doing that when they started to armor through pretty much everything. People were tweeting and messaging Max with videos of how to beat this challenge on expert mode. As usual, he ignored them all just like with the P.T. video and spent an extra 7+ hours as a result.

Max you, Kenny, Steve, everyone in boss rage and the hype&rage series are amazing. If anyone says "But woolie is better cause he beat this in 10 minutes" they clearly don't care that you guys put in the effort to show people that you care about game and their some times ridiculous challenged. that final celebration proves it the shouting, hugging. not going to lie, I only discovered these videos recently thanks to Max and CZcamsGaming working to restore his content that he obviously put a lot of time into, not to mention it's amazing to look back on. I remember that fight, and despite I had no one to celebrate it with after 200 attempts I literally teared in laughter seeing some of my favorite dudes having so much fun before their journey really picked up on Twitch. I hope to play you all in MK11 this year, it would be an honor.

Just beat it in 2021 as Sonya lol she's really fast and that helped a lot. Shao Kahn's health took so long to go down, my heart was in my mouth. Felt great doing this tower no skips. MK9 is god-tier.

I watched this when it premiered on the stream. And, OH, MAN, even before seeing this I experienced it first-hand and know the agony and B.S. that is the timed nerf you get or buff they get (THANK GOD IT ISN'T BOTH).

Came back for nostalgia. Hope you don’t mind me telling a story.
I was relatively new to watching live streams at the time and it was my first year of college. I had this playing while I was doing projects and despite it being a night on my own I had fun watching the stream, I even passed out while watching it but the parts I woke up to was everyone screaming because of how close they got to finally finishing it and the morning where they finally got it done. I couldn’t help but be happy for your guys as it was a VERY long stream trying to beat one of the toughest challenges in a Mortal Kombat game.
This is still one of my favourite streams I’ve ever had the pleasure in watching and I couldn’t thank you enough for keeping the fighting game genre entertaining.
