she says that all the other disney films were based on other properties like the princess fairy tales but forgets that the lion king is HAMLET bruh
These properties are also public domain.
this has to be the most hyped yms review Adamhas ever made
She just really hates the lion king
That's the vibe I'm getting from it. It's one thing if she didn't like it, it's another to follow the whole "Kimba ripoff" conspiracies, despite the fact she never watched one single episode of Kimba.
I get the impression from her work that she just hates Western [US] culture in general. Her whole premise is Western cultures steal ideas from "poor" countries and profit from it. This whole Kimba/Lion King is just a means to an end for her, everyone will just make the lazy unfair comparisons and accept it like Adam did before he actually watched Kimba and eat up whatever she says and she gets to look like a saint fighting for the "poor and downtrodden" whose incredible ideas of lion stories in jungles should've made them billionaires!
Nothing sadder than an american with immigrant parents hating the culture they grew up in. I'm willing to bet money that Professor Sunder has never set foot in India. It's like White Guilt but for people of colour..
It seems like this all caught on purely because people liked the idea of it. People want to believe Disney is so evil they'd rip off another man's work to turn a profit. It makes a compelling story and people are very anti-Disney and anti-capitalist and anti-America so they eat this shit up.
@@michaelstrong5383 What makes it worse is that she hates it and she hasn't even seen it.
"If only the elephants had been nice than the humans wouldn't have had to exterminate them."
Seriously, all the blackface and colonialism scenes, the part with the elephants being exterminated with tanks, the white savior complex mentality stuff, all that should be put into a compilation and sent to Madhavi Sunder.
You really think someone would do that? Write a book and spread lies!?
You know shit's about to go down when Adum slows down the video to normal speed
Hey Adam, this is from an article about the "Disney" settlement:
South African lawyer Owen Dean said on Thursday the settlement was reached with New Jersey-based Abilene Music, which holds the copyright to The Lion Sleeps Tonight which in turn licensed it to the Walt Disney Corporation.
"All of the parties to the litigation plus Abilene are part of the settlement and in terms of it all, the litigation will be withdrawn," Dean said.

What does this mean? I just got off work
This is no longer hype for the review....this is an experience now ❤
Exactly!
It’s a bunch of people just lying and agreeing with each other with no one having done even the smallest amount of research that could pass muster in a middle school essay.
"You clearly haven't watch Kimba!" Is going to be from now on my default statement when talking with somebody that is clearly wrong and I have the facts to back it up.
Going by this mentality, Ford v Ferrari must be a complete ripoff of Speed Racer!
I feel like Ford v Ferrari is a ripoff of every sports/competition/underdog movie ever
By this logic, Miracle is a rip-off of The Mighty Ducks.
I can't tell if this TED talk is more funny than it is infuriating
Just got done watching this part on the stream omg I was screaming along with him.
When she called Zazu a parrot, I was yelling *"ZAZU'S A HORNBILL!!"*
Adam's got such a compelling narrative with the research he ACTUALLY DID, he should do his own TED talk.
Everyone is talking about how she hasn't watched kimba
I don't even think she watched the lion king
Imagine writing a book said to be of factual value based on hearsay of research one didn’t even look at.
Prof: Talking about how culture is poorly appropriated by someone
Also Prof: Teh-ZOO-kuh
Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed like it is not a hard name to pronounce.
That's... How you pronounce it.
@@Hazztech You pronounce it TEH-zoo-kuh, emphasis on the beginning syllable, not the second syllable
@@prkr07 I can speak Japanese. I think the emphasis is even. Hard to express in text. Oh well.
I'll also add that the lion king was not Disney's first original animated film, Lady And The Tramp was.
At this Point I am fully expecting Adam to just morph into Kimba and give the review through him.
Kimba undress his Adum skin suit
Adam was dead all along, Kimba was wearing his skin to inspire all of Adam's viewers with courage.
I can't believe that they had a freaking fracking TED Talk for this nonsense.
I feel like the amount of research that Adam went through about these movies gives him all the rights to do a full TED talk of his own
At this point to be in a TED talk is like to have a Twitter blue checkmark, nobody will take you seriously
This feels like when you pick a topic for a paper in university course, and then you realize a week before it is due that your topic sucks so you just throw a bunch of shit together and hope the professor doesn't think about it too hard.
Except in this situation the professor is Adam and you're getting an "F".
"You don't even know what you're talking about and you're doing a Ted Talk!"
Isn't that pretty much every Ted Talk?
Reminds me of a film teacher I had whose expertise was more on the political/social/historical side of her expertise. That class was 90% taught by the students and most of the midterm and finals questions came from the student presentations.
to be fair it's a TEDx, anyone with a script can do it even Adum if he wanted to
Reggie Watts and Sam Hyde were the only good Ted Talks, and they were the ones trying to make as little sense as possible.
Id love to see a TED Talks from Adam
His reaction to the moon comment is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.
Adam and this "kimba shit" is like a trainwreck, I just can't look away. This yms is gonna GLORIOUS.
I’ve been directing misinformed people to your Kimba YMS video.. watched the first 45 min last night and finished the other 90 min this morning.. it’s amazing bc the side by sides are compelling ONLY if you have no idea what the hell Kimba is and when certain stuff came out. This isn’t only justice for lion king but you’re doing the world a huge favor to be skeptical in general until they actually look at the source material directly. People are like “I DiD ReSeArcHhHh” as they just read other opinions that don’t know the source material.
It's amazing how much you dug into this whole Kimba thing. Because seeing those videos that you've shown of people saying that Lion King ripped it off are so convincing. To see the side by side comparisons a person would automatically be like oh my gosh they're totally right. But now we see there are people who have written books have done interviews have done videos but here you are doing actual research shutting that s*** down LOL
I haven't watched the Lion King in a long time and when you mentioned the moon, I said to myself, "What moon?" Anyone with at least one eye can tell that's not a moon Mufasa is in.
Adam realizing he now has to edit more Kimba was the best part
Can't wait for Netflix's 10 part docu-series about this Kimba rabbit hole.
You know Adum is about to destroy her when he puts the video at normal speed
Adams Kimba video is going to be so good
I'm just as a reminder that one of the videos that she listed as a source was latter found to be created by a (at the time) 9 year old kid who loves lions
I cannot believe that this rabbit whole is still getting deeper
We don't know the rabbit half of it
Professor: “Let me explain these animated movies about talking animals...”
Furry: *” E X C U S E M E “*
Challenge: watch these yms videos at x2 speed
I mentioned this terrible video in my dissertation class at university because we did a lesson about citing our research findings, which included how to find credible sources instead of websites like Wikipedia. This woman literally cited a CZcams video from 2008 made by a 13 year old in Windows Movie Maker during a live Ted Talk lmao
We teach kids not to use wikipedia as a source, but not youtube?
Ted Talks were never smart to begin with.
You mean "were never smart"?
@@mdude3 Thanks missed that.
They're hit and miss for me, love Adam Driver and Andrew Stantons Ted Talks videos for example.
She’s doing a Ted talk on two properties she’s never seen
"JOKER IS JUST A RIP-OFF OF THE KING OF COMEDY AND TAXI DRIVER!"
*i sleep*
"THE LION KING IS JUST A RIP-OFF OF KIMBA THE WHITE LION!"
*real shit*
Wait a minute, The lion king isn't about intellectual property?
TED Talk is basically just TikTok for rich people
lmao
The entire Kimba video was a 2-hour long version of the “so that was a fucking lie” Tyler clip
Obi-Wan: "That's no moon, it's a low res frame from an embarrassing conspiracy video on CZcams."
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUCH.
that's hilarious oh my god. I'm glad the highlights channel exists, you're doing a great job GrandSalamander
Disney didn't settle, it was the company qith the 60s song royalties. However the news publish it as Disney just because of clicks. She sure just reads headlines

This line in particular really speaks my SOUL. And you can easily adapt that to other stuff, too. How often in life have I thought this exact same thing.....
Adam when she says boths characters see vision of their fathers in the moon: Ladies and Gentlemen... We got 'em
