This brought tears to my eyes! My wife and I got married at Graceland and Love Me Tender , The Wonder of You, and Can't Help Falling in Love were our wedding songs. The greatest day of my life. I had the honor of talking to Elvis on 2 different occasions at Graceland. This man is above and beyond what anyone could ever imagine! Just the fact that we are still talking about him is a testament to just how great Elvis truly was!

I remember seeing this with my mother
This wasnt the version they played on original show so ive never seen this clip nor did i know existed. Elvis' gospel songs made me go back to church every sunday, his love songs helped heal my broken heart many times and songs like Polk Salad have left me questioning my sexuality he's that good looking lol
This segment was an hour and then edited for the show. Later on the whole session was aired intact. This one seems sweetened after the fact. Even so itâs very good.

He made and still makes us ladies â swoonâ. No one nowadays sings romantic beautiful songs like this and it is a shame.
When it comes to the great Elvis love songs (and there are so many of them), the 2 songs that consistently top most people's lists as their favorites are "Love Me Tender" and "Can't Help Falling In Love." Elvis sings both of them brilliantly during the 68 Comeback Special.
I think what is more priceless, to me, is your continued reactions and responses to Elvisâs voice and charm. Iâm a 60 year old man who grew up with the King and to this day I have the same goose bumps or chills still listening to this man. Gone too soon. Luv ya Ms Dani!

I think this is the first time I have seen/heard this version. I'm used to the 68 Special version where he makes some jokes such as "You have made my life a wreck." and "For my darling, er ah."

I grew up with Elvis Presley from when he first began singing, when I was a teenager. I'm now 76 yrs old and love Elvis just as much as when I was a teenager. He is singing Love Me Tender on your show and I remember seeing him sing it in his movie of the same name. All my girlfriends were with me and we were all screaming. I still live him and his singing the same today. I still remember when he was on on the Sullivan show. Keep playing his music. And thank you for your great Program. Play more of Elvis singing Gospel.

I was introduced to Elvis, in 1958. I was 8 yrs old and lived in Indonesia. Through our connections with the American Embassy in Djakarta, we received this record, while it was forbidden to listen to anything rock and roll. Needless to say that the next record came and was absorbed like food for my soul. Whenever there was a new child born, within the family, the first type of music they listen to was Elvis.
Now I live in Canada, a mature man, and am thrilled to find that Elvis is still "the man" for young and old.
Elvis Hawaiian wedding song from blue Hawaii was so real to people that many sent him wedding gifts. He sent them all back. Elvis had that knack of reaching people deeply.

It always struck me funny that I never read about anyone talking about being in the audience and I've searched it out. I would think that people would of been sharing there experience of being in that crowd. Now I know they kept switches audience members in and out the studio. Rome wasn't built in a day not was the 68 special. Elvis got that tan by going to Hawaii before they filmed. He slept in the studio btw. Now i know about 2 women in the audience, because they would wait outside elvis house in california and they attacked Pricilla. Elvis got so mad he almost killed the women. There is a behind the image story on youtube about that. It's so crazy. Again though I never heard any body tell what they witnessed that June of 1968. It was supposed to be a Christmas show cause it aired on Christmas 68. The Colonel wanted it that way and when he left the room he told Steve binder forget what he said, I'm not doi g a Christmas show. The rare time he went against the Colonel.
I know I give slot of insight. I've been learning for 32 years. I even went to the studio, why because that's the studio where jay leno did his tonight show.

When I was a kid, I heard somebody say the operator was on the line and whenever I went outside to play I always use to look up at the phone and electric lines on the polls trying to see the operator up there. Don't hate me but I actually don't like the song but only cause of the 70s performances. The 68 special version is wat it is special and the softness of Elvis voice on it is pure Gold.
