Great review, I believe the prices with all OTC hearing aids will drop because there is so much competition. I have a pair of Audien Atom Pro which cost a lot less but are mainly amplifiers with only a volume adjustment dial. They work fine but I cannot stand the 'tinny' sound. I am considering buying a pair of CRE-C10s.
Fantastic video! Thank you. If I may ask a question: If your country's AppStore does not have the Sony Hearing Control App, is there any way of getting the App anyway or installing C10 without the App?
Hey Surfing, with iOS you’ll need to set up a new Apple ID based in the country that you can get the app and login yo the App Store with that. It’s a little convoluted but it will get you there. Matthew
Thanks big times. You are right, that will work!@@HearingTracker
are these cre-c10 otc identical to the signia cic silk 7ix?
question. i have single sided hearing. do you have a review of Signia Silk Charge&Go 3 IX with Silk IX CROS? would they be a good option for me?
Nice !!!!
We can dispense those exact same hearing aids, called the Signia Silk A 1, correctly, for $1,800. For an extra $800 you get a three year warranty and they will actually be properly fit based on the hearing loss and the needs of the patient.
We also have the rechargeable Bluetooth CRE E-10 (Signia Active X) for also $1,800.
(Not quite the same) Matthew
Hi Matthew. As the c10 and e10 appear to be based on two very different signia aids (Silk VS Active Pro) and therefore, presumably, do not share the same hardware, it would be really helpful to hear or read your assessment and comparison of the 2 sony aids from a performance perspective (rather than merely a feature comparison). For example, comparing the data sheets for each of the aids, the e10 has substantially more gain than the c10 and therefore might be better suited for a person at the worse end of moderate loss. These are the sorts of judgements a consumer (well, me at least) needs to know. By the way, I already know there is far more to it than gain alone. I was just using that as an example.
Hey Peter, I absolutely agree and watching this space. We've been testing these hearing aids over in the lab and have some sound files that I'll be sharing soon. Leave it with me! Matthew
Thanks Matthew. I have already listened to those sound files over on the Hear Advisor website. I was still keen though to hear your personal views on the differences.
The chip is the same.
Excellent video as always. Can this device be worn in one ear?
Hey Mark they can yes, but you can only buy them as a pair similarly to other wireless headphones. Matthew
@@HearingTracker fantastic Matthew, thank you for the continued excellent information on the channel 👍🏼
First, thanks for some GREAT reviews.
Had Silk 7Nx until lost them just after the warrantee ran out. Didn't realize how much I loved these until they were gone. That will NEVER happen again.
For me, handling the small batteries was NOT a prob but for some this could be a major issue.
BT would be nice, but discretion for me is a requirement, as i present a lot and there's still a stigma which does not exist for eyeglasses. :-/
C10 appear to be same, but w/o custom programs (like "conf room" which cancels the echo)
I'm now considering if diff between $900 & $2,000 is worth the programs and warrantee.
Might just have to buy these C10s, and if not happy, upgrade in a few years to the THEN newest similar to Silk 7's.
I don't have app how can i use it.
I have already gone to ENT's and Audiologists many years ago. They want to fit me with a set in the thousands! Discriminantly, insurance plans do not cover ears, like they do teeth and eyes, so everything would be 100% out of pocket. So I have been struggling with Tinnitus in my right ear for years. Will a pair of Cre C10's help with the ringing? I am yet to find a video that addresses this issue. I am willing to pay $1K for pair of hearing aids but not $5K. And yes, i prefer a discreet hearing aid device over one that is very noticeable. Any feedback would be a appreciated. Thanks for the video.
Function
Hoping Sony will offer this unit as a rechargable. Waiting on the sidelines for a bit.
Just my opinion, but, I prefer the battery ones, easier for travel, no charger to misplace when you travel, or when the charge runs out, just replace the batteries, instead of doing a recharge.
@@warrrengale2743 Wow. That's a surprise, thanx. Based on Ur review, I was going to purchase this Sony....with a concern of replacing batteries. Then I saw your Eargo review with more phone setting options & recharagable for ~$2500. Ouch, but it seemed advanced from the Sony. I have slight loss at high freq & some ringing. Recommendation?? Thanks.

Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Matthew
I choose not to buy prescription aids because of the Audiologist assessment + pricey recommended device relationship. Hardly feels unbiased.
Hey Gkunz3, I’m not sure what you mean? Isn’t it normal to buy things from a place that you go to buy them? Matthew
Hi @@HearingTracker My point is - how do we trust that recommendations are based on what's best for a customer rather than profit.
Discretion. I'd wager many of the 30 million are younger and don't like the stigma associated with them.
Hey Sean, there are tonnes of stats covering this on the NIDCD website! It's worth a look. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Matthew
I've been asking audiologist for years for some over the head hearing aids you wear like headphones. I am sick of this micro technology.
Hey GSP, I would love it to be able to help, however that's a conversation with a manufacturer rather than an audiologist. Let me spread the word though. Thanks for your feedback, Matthew
not recharable.
Hey BYU, that's correct these are size 10 disposable batteries. If you're after rechargeable CIC hearing aids check out this video:
