Hi and thank you. Rapier is an average one handed weapon. Shield in offhand or even on the back helps to block arrows. What rapier lacks is versatility and damage. If you are new to the game, take consistent and damage dealing weapons, such as war axe, dane axe, messer or a greatsword. If you want to play one-handed weapons anyway, then pick either one handed axe or one handed spear.

@@_ZetaReticulithank you, I hate big weapons. In this game I’d only like the rapier and glaive or maybe dagger in all games. Hate axe, hammers and big swords lol

From the weapons you've listed, dagger in ambusher's hands is probably the most op and fun as long as you don't duel and play as a backstabber :)
