How does one replace the. Glass only when the iPad mini is fully working (digitiser is sound )but The glass is cracked?

It is very difficult job to replace only the touch, you need to seek a good professional for that. Only limited places carry this repair.
@@DIYGeardo Thank you 🙏🏼 I have paid for an expert to do it for me for £80 including the cost of the new glass. I think that’s a great deal compared with buying the whole front unit at £185 minimum for me(out of the trade ) x

There can be places who do glass only repairs. It is quite hard and only few will do it.DIY, don’t try it. Sell the screen and get an assembly is better
