  • We all know that winters are tough in Northern Michigan, but today, I check in with my crew from Twin Bay Landscaping to see how they are working through the winter cold. They are making such progress on this epic job and I just had to come up from Florida to see it in person.
    Do you think you could handle the cold all day like this crew does?

    Oh Jack, you are such a tease. You dangle this fantastic property in front of us and expect us to wait until Spring to see the new planting to be done. The temptation is just too much! Drat.

    I'm so glad your videos are back. Please keep 'em coming. I live in Georgia, so it's hard for me to comprehend such a cold and snowy winter. It's so beautiful to me, but I know it comes with its challenges, especially those that come with working in the icy cold temps. Can't wait to see this finished.

    My son lived in Lake Ann close to Traverse,Mi. Loved the area very beautiful in any season. He had to take snow off his house roof. My hat is off to anyon3 working there in the winter

    The explanation of how to place the flagstone was so interesting. Very talented individuals to be able to make that "jigsaw puzzle". I'd never heard of frost blankets.

    That's looking amazing and incredibly COLD! I'm in the Texas panhandle. I can't say much... It's supposed to be something like 6°F overnight. Last year, this was the week that we had that awful sub 0 weather for over a week. That was NUTS!
    Anyway, I can't wait for spring, for many reasons, and I'm excited to see this job come together. I would love to see the owners reaction when it's all finished.
    Cheers! Go get a hot toddy!

    ... and you paint it well, Jack! Thanks. Such a fantastic location! Cold, but hey, I'm sure they own another home or two to go thaw out! 😉 Yes, an incredible amount of work, that will hold its own grand entryway. The things big money can do! Looking forward to any updates to come. It will be gorgeous. I'll go to sleep for now and just dream big! Bye for now ... 😊

    Is erosion a concern for these waterfront properties?

    • @JackBarnwellDesign
      @JackBarnwellDesign  Před 2 lety +1

      Certainly on the main lake, but this property is very protected. However, we do a lot of erosion control through the construction process, and with plantings to ensure we have a large buffer zone
