This car is a special one off race car based on the Ferrari 430 gt2. it has its own webpage. It finished 12th overall and 1st in class in the 2012's Nürburgring 24 hours. 12th overall is very good achievement for an one off. Don't let the overtaking GT3s or cup cars confuse you. In endurance the goal is to last 24 hours and cross the finish line. Each year 30% of entrants fail to do that. IMO the team were using the VLN to test set ups, new parts(if there are), and set race pace for the 24hrs.
right. The chassis of the Enzo wasn't as adapted as the F430's one to made a race car. at least the P4/5 Competizione is really really lightweight compare to the well-know F430 GT3.

This car puts out the same horsepower and weighs 350lbs less than the Enzo so the power to weight is more than adequate. I’d assume based on the revs on the way up the back hill that the gearing was probably laid out for a smaller track.

Damian Sieradzki I have to politely disagree with you on that, the new McLaren MP4-12C GT3 is better balanced I think. But I do like the P4/5 very much.
Seems that AC have it right, judging by this vid. This poor f*cker is getting passed by everyone. Maybe it's the down force of that body, that would explain why it sticks to the road so well in Assetto Corsa.
Paul Borg Well they are two different cars. 12C GT3 is a GT car, when P4/5 reminds me more of DTM cars. Anyway what I ment was that with P4/5 you can literally drift using default setup.
Driver is not clipping apex points at their optimum point. I'm pretty sure he is exceeding the number of shifts he has to do on the course. The driver is just not committed to the corners. The car is too stable in the low to medium speed corners. If he was pushing it, it would seem like he would have no control of the car

You can go a lot harder in some of those turns and get on the throttle a little bit earlier. Will result in better lap times. Porsche all the way though.
if you watch the behavior of the car, it seems to catch the other cars on the track under braking (closing distance) and also doing so through corners.....this either means there is excessive drag due to too much downforce or just not enough power and tourqe to push through the cars aerodynamic drag
Sorry this car is slow if all those 6 cylinder Porsche's just vanished into the distance. Great driving though, I doubt anyone else could have driven it any quicker.

just so you guys know, the P4/5 Competizione Scuderia is not based off the Enzo, it's based off of the 430 Scuderia and F430 GT2 with the 483hp V8
Correct. Only the standard P4/5 road model is based off of the Enzo.

and it does now. Jim had the internals re-engineered so the engine is 4.5L now, making about 50 or so more bhp
the ferrari p4/5 have the v12 ferrari enzo... but this have v8 430 scuderia only and esclusive for this event

the road version produced 660 bhp, which is an awful lot as it is! adding 50 more could cause problems on a 24 hr endurance event :(

I don't need to argue either, but I'm not the one trying to criticize a PROFESSIONAL, or bragging about my "GT2" that I don't actually own.
When GT3s overtake the P4/5, it sounds as if the car is going 100%. Sounds/looks like it needs more power.
they also could just be having the driver go easy on the car for fuel consumption and midagate tire wear if this is an endurance race
