Being a Chiefs fan at this day in age is truly remarkable!
TIS JUST THE BEGINNING!
As an Englishman and a big NFL man I am so invested also, he's sick at Rugby and I would love to see him in the NFL!!!!
He's Welsh. Has nothing to do with England or you being English
As a Welshman and a big NFL fan I'm so invested in this. Lets go LRZ!
NFL worse sport ever
@@Poweroftouchagreed so many bots in this comments section
@@Poweroftouch Salty, much?
So proud of Zam for following his dream even with all the hate and criticism. Watch him make it and go all the way.
He didn't follow he's dream he followed the money
@@moonstone3578only big money if he makes it into the active roster for an NFL franchise.
If he just makes practice squad he would be earning 3 times more on his rugby union contract than that.
@@moonstone3578hopefully you’re just trolling, otherwise you clearly know very little about the NFL
@@moonstone3578 if he was chasing money, he'd go to the guaranteed 500k-1mil a season in Japan or France. In a sport he already excels at. Not a very slim chance of him making it on to an NFL roster to make the megabucks
He calls it his dream but really it's the money, and that's okay, just disappointing.
Unfortunately he will probably fail like almost every other world-class rugby player whose tried to get into the NFL.
Rees Zammit's footwork looks exceptional! This is going to be some journey!!
A journey back to the Rugby Union. Poor guy is being taken for a mug unfortunately because the odds are basically 1000/1 to even be on special teams.
@@seanypthemc that is both unkind and also untrue - even if he does not make it onto a team (which I agree is most likely), he is probably getting an increased income, he is getting a new once-in-a-lifetime experience, he is challenging himself as an athlete, and he is young enough to pick up his career in rugby union where it left off (but with a significantly-raised profile).
If you use him you'll see. he's pure sport. pure acceleration. Rees- Lightening. He's proper quick.
He has a shot on special teams and even in the Wildcat
If this dude can ball
Andy will find him a way onto the Field
The Kingdom is where he belongs watching his highlight reel. There is no better place for him to be than with Andy Reid. Not only is Reid the best offensive coach in the NFL right now, his superpower is designing plays around the skills of his players. With the new kickoff rules, there is a spot for Louis on special teams and lateral catching from Kelce. One more weapon Andy will figure out.....
All the Welsh Brothers and Sisters across the Pond
Welcome to Chiefs Football 🏈
He is going to a perfect Coach in Andy Reed
A perfect Quarterback in Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs Kingdom will be cheering your boy on in Arrowhead the loudest Stadium in the World
Hope you all become Chief Fans now
All Love from KC
Frenchman and rugby player here, I wish all the best to him. Huge respect for LRZ. I liked the rugby player, I hope we'll all enjoy seeing him display his talents on a football pitch.
as a Welshman who has been a massive fan of NFL for the last 15 years, I'm so excited to see someone from my country given the opportunity. I totally get that even getting to a practice squad would be a huge achievement in itself. Having said that, everyone was losing their mind at Kelce throwing some laterals this season....I can see Zammit completely changing play design as he has basically been throwing 'laterals' for his entire career. No better way to embrace the "uncommon" message.
Changing play design? 😂
@@beachbobftw1110just wait...he just signed with the Chiefs...
@@alkavonstra5479 I lite had said that someone will sign him since it's a PR move lol. The NFL has been desperate for international fans. They even allowed teams to carry an extra player this year if they are international 😂
Can't wait to see how far he goes! ❤ 🏴
Welcome to the Kingdom Louis.
Glad to be here, Rick.
As a Welshman and NFL can really want him to do well, be nice to see Y Ddraig Goch on an NFL pitch one day!
I wondered HOW after watching his rugby highlights, after watching this I see how. Dudes got great hands and speed. And a top notch attitude…Welcome to KC
In my opinion; if LRZ is even half decent at the game, then it would make an incredible marketing opportunity for a team like the Jaguars who play in the “London games” to pick him up, imagine the hype that would come with a rugby superstar coming home to the UK to play an NFL game, I imagine the jerseys would be selling tenfold, the coverage would be even more hyped than usual. In terms of NFL in the uk it would surely be the biggest game yet!
I think every British and maybe even European NFL/football fan wants to see this guy succeed and see what he could do in the NFL.
I assume you're reffering to the Jacksonville Jaguars (I'm a rugby fan from Wales & no very little about NFL)
Of all the teams that's the one I'd like to see him at most as I'm also a pro wrestling fan & him going there would be the thing to actually get me to care about Tony Khan's "football" team.
Outside of Daily's place being AEW's home during the pandemic.
The 6 Nations toirnement starts this weekend & wish Louis was avalible for it, but if he is able to make it over there (which he should, he's amazing) I'll actually keep up with NFL.
@@Ethan-Entah Yes mate the Jacksonville Jaguars. And thank you for your comment because you are an example of exactly what I am thinking, the fact LRZ is simply trying to join the NFL has already gotten your interest enough to want to pay attention to the sport, should he make it then they will gain your attention and many many others.
A lot of British people who follow the NFL don’t really have a team or know who to follow, so any team who signs up LRZ will gain so many fans.
I hope he can make it, I’ve seen many arguments for and against whether he will. The sports are very different even tho they seem similar in many ways.
This absolutely could happen. NFL owners have been known to dictate who their teams draft despite consensus from team GM and scouts. If he can make an NFL roster it is a massive accomplishment. If he can develop into a starter, yes he will be a star over seas and open the flood gates for the NFL Pathways program.
You’re right it would be a marketing ploy in the NFL London games, but the Jaguars stink and rarely ever reach the playoffs. No real NFL fan supports the Jags 😂 but imagine if he joined a big team like the Cowboys 😁 that’d be sick lol. NO Saints could use him too right now. Or him and the Cheetah 🐆 at Miami Dolphins
As a Gloucester fan I was gutted to hear this news, but as an NFL fan I am incredibly excited to see our Rees-Lightning succeed! ⚡⚡
As a proud Welshman and someone who has never really gotten into the NFL I think its time to start haha. LRZ is a beast and will make his country and family proud!
Imagine going from this to catching passes from Mahomes
Love Louis.. well done follow your Dreams. We will miss you in Wales. All the Best to you. My Grandson is your Double they all call him Louis.
Just do what makes you Happy.Love from Your Welsh fans.❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Welcome to the undisputed, back to back, dynastic and fantastic CHAMPIONS OF THE WOOOOOORLD! THE "KAN-SAS-CITY" CHIEFS!
So excited seeing him get the chance he's so talented and a credit to any team. Lovely to see a Welshman in the NFL. So unbelievably proud 🏴 excited to see. Best wishes from Wales.
Welcome to the kingdom Zam. Think red. KC Red with diamonds!!!
Great attitudes by coaches and players 👍🏽
Wishing him the absolute best at the combine! To go from the top level to now the underdog takes humility and courage. I hope he paves the way for more rugby players to come over to the NFL
Loving watching Louis journey! As Brits it would be great to see him make it! We actually covered the IPP in our new podcast.
I pray he makes it. As a Welshman and nfl fan I would be ecstatic to see him score his first td . Go Louis!!!!
Like him I grew up in the uk watching the NFL…it’s often overlooked here mainly because of footballs dominance and lack of understanding from a vast majority of people but I wish him all the best and really hope he makes a teams roster
Really hope he makes it! Takes a lot of guts to give up what he has to go and chase a dream
4minutes is crazy guys I need more
Excited to see how this plays out. Love cross over athletes and would love to see Louis make it. Fascinated to see if his youth and talent can overcome a HUGE learning curve to play WR. Seems like the line of scrimmage is the most likely for crossovers to succeed but this kid certainly has the talent to succeed elsewhere.
I hope he does well I’ll be rooting for ya. You’ll smash it! 😊
Some big old units in that group! Go well LRZ!!!
I'm excited about this, being welsh and a big NFL fan
This video is about to get 1mil views real quick...current 274k
Fascinating
LRZ is gunna smash it such a class act even at a young age he could turn his hand to anything he put his mind too goooo Rees⚡️⚡️⚡️
So he could be a world champion boxer as well?
Within reason Ofc
@@peterwilliams5640 so thats a no then....actually his chances of ever playing in the nfl are about the same.
I love the theme of the 'uncommon' or being different and embracing that.
I hope that program has lent on the recent phenomenon of Australian punters, is that has really encapsulated this line of thinking.
They came into the game and by being uncommon have revolutionised the position and in a way made it their own. They bought their own specific skillset and talent, and were able to make it work in the game to the point they became the leaders in that position and now future punters are learning their style.
All the best young man
Welcome to the Kingdom!!!!
Can't wait to see this guy in the NFL, would love more fans in the UK
I highly doubt he makes it off a practice squad and ever into an NFL match. He may make an NFL roster on practice contract and go through training camp but will then likely be cut sometime in July/Aug and return back to team Wales rugby.
The athleticism is there, but the mental adjustment to competing with athletes that are just as athletic and have been training in the best leagues in the US
just tends to be too much. Almost every elite international athlete I’ve seen in these types of training camps has failed and the ones that don’t tend to be kickers or big lineman (equivalent of forwards). Skill position players like QB, WR, RB, DB never make the transition because the decades of mental / technical catch up is just too much.
I can see the Chiefs and Andy Reid signing him to practice squad. Coach Reid would love to incorporate some of the laterals into his plays...Travis Kelce already does it, but i would bet this kid can bring a whole new dyamic. The learning curve is going to be steep though. Special teams for 1-2 years maybe catch on a roster that way.
What stock should I buy?
Unreal.. hope they all make it onto a team!
Definitely in for this series
LESGOOOOO!! Backing you LRZ!
Great video, interested to see more of his journey.
Class 🙏
Welcome to Kansas City the Chiefs Kingdom and you will do great in our city and the fans will love you.
I hope he strikes gold and makes it.Hes a nice lad with a nice family.
Really hope he makes it in the states. But if not, I’d always be happy to see him back on the rugby pitch.
Go Rees!
Best of luck to him, hope he makes it, from an England fan😁
As a Welshman, I wish Rees the best of luck.
Lets go Lou!
Some set of gnashers on him 😁
He will be an excellent option route receiver.
He's living the dream for us all. GO LRZ!
Shut up
Chiefs signed him.
I hope he comes back! 😢🏴
He’ll be back in autumn this year almost guaranteed. I’ve been watching NFL for decades now and have seen these crossover athlete scenarios many times. Typically what happens is a team signs them on practice contract to go through training camp but then they get released in July/August when NFL teams have to narrow down their playing roster for the regular season.
NFL funds these training camps more as marketing/international exposure opportunity to make headlines and get more international fans rather than actually try to fill their rosters with foreign players. It’s more of a PR stunt.
Make these longer. Huge marketing opportunity.
Dude is going to get bodied.
Gloooooosteeeeeerrrrrr :-)
Where did he buy the cap with the bill facing backwards?
As an irishfan i'm delighted to see him gone to NFL ;-)
be real, we aren't beating you anytime soon even if he was still here!
😬 I can't even imagine what Chief's elite NFL foes are thinking 🤦♂️ all I know one thing is for certain Louis Rees-Zammit BETTER BE READY for some hard hitting action
Quite a lot of people saying he won't make a team. Guys yes us Brits know that you Americans have been playing football since before high school.. LRZ has been playing rugby just as long.. everyone's doubting him.. he will make a team. You can all just sit back and eat your peanut butter and jelly ( which is actually jam ) and watch. He runs 100m in just over 10 seconds, he knows the game. He's going to make it.
Now we may not need to draft a running back to backup pacheco, sweet! Can’t wait to see what he can do!!
Chief!
So will LRZ be playing Wide Receiver? The guy certainly has skills, he runs a bit on his toes…interesting to see how he goes up against NFL defensive backs. He can certainly make a practice squad, not sure about a NFL roster yet
Like to see him doing the NFL WR Combine drills next, catching QB passes from both sides
Best of luck to LRZ. I'm struck by how relatively small he looks. You know he's not small, it just shows how big some of those other guys are! He looks very agile and quick footed though which will be to his advantage.
As an American girl fan I was so excited for him to come to America
We welcome him to the world champion Chiefs! He will go to the practice squad to acclimate him to the NFL, but we have high hopes for him to help us win 3 Super Bowls in a row. I understand his father was in the NFL, which will help his adjustment and transition. We need his speed and toughness and maybe lateral tosses to Kelce. I can imagine him receiving a pass from Mahomes. He found a home and a wonderful opportunity for his continuing success in sports.
He will enjoy living in Kansas City which will welcome him with open arms.
Just remember to drive on the right side of the road while traveling to eat the best BBQ in the states!
His father was a fan of the NFL. Which is a bit different from being in it.
Can’t wait to watch his journey to the nfl
well youve just watched it. all this is is an ad for the NFL, hes not making a team on gameday
Exactly what I meant 👍
Can we have updates on Harry Mallinder as well please
LRZ just has to keep his eyes open while catching the ball. NFL QBs throw the ball so fast and while having a 200+ guy tackling you catching the ball with your eyes close would be so hard
welcome to the Chiefs!
same time next week?
Here’s hoping you come and play for the Jags. 🏴🇺🇸
It will be nice to see lrz back in rugby after a few years, just hope his skills haven't declined too much when he comes back
Its class to see him still rep the Welsh kit, Cymru Am Byth Louis 🏴❤️
If this doesn’t work out, straight back to Glos
How would he get picked though, does the training camp include an actual game?
At the end of the training camp they all get to showcase their skills to NFL scouts from all the NFL teams, similar to the NFL combine where College football players get invited to the NFL combine to showcase their skills and undergo various testing parameters in front of recruiting scouts. If he shows real potential he could get drafted to an NFL team, however chances are it will only be to their practice squad not to their active roster squad.
How do you get into the ipp program?
The IPP contact International athletes, not in the USA, from different sports offering them an opportunity to switch to NFL. They only target and select athletes who they feel could potentially make it in the NFL.
I assume he wants to be a wide receiver? Hoping he adapts and smashes it.
Has he played yet??
Only watching nfl because of zammit
Who you playing for then?
what happened to wade when he tried?
CHIEF'S #1. THIS SHOULD BE FUN!!
My boy is bout to be hurt out there lol. Never been hit by a linebacker or safety running down an alley. Yea he’s about to realize he should of stayed across the pond lol
Thankfully he doesn't have the negative mindset of an underachiever like yourself. Keep eating those corn dogs on your couch..
I never knew NFL was a big thing in Europe. Sounds like it’s very popular. Who would have thought🤷🏼♂️
It’s not as popular as football (soccer) and rugby, but it’s definitely growing here day by day 🙌🏼
@@milly4556ewww no don't lie to urself
Gutted he’s not involved in rugby atm, six nations is a little duller for wales without him. Not the biggest fan of American football right now.. that could change if he gets a team🤞
First Welsh player in NFL I mean ever
Would love to get involved in this somehow 👍
Lots of negativity here .Maybe he will be back playing Rugby next year . Or, perhaps he will break the mould . I wish him well .🏈🏈🏈
The message this sends is that Rugby plays second fiddle to the NFL. As a guy that lives in the US that saddens me because NFL is cool but rugby is the superior game in my opinion.
Eh? No it doesn't
Certainly not superior paychecks. If Louis makes it and gets a Jordan Mailata type contract, a lot of ruggers will be turning away from the ‘superior’ sport 😆
Yeah rugby money will never come close to NFL money. I personally think rugby is a better game. So yes it’s superior in my view
Better game or not NFL has access to so many athletically dominant players. The only rugby market that comes close to this in New Zealand and its comparatively tiny.
Should have gone down the college route
Catching ball in front of 50000 for the Baylor Bears is a much better path that sitting in a practice squad with the Chicago Bears for two years
He's got the pace to play receiver but I wonder if he has the overall athleticism? The NFL is comprised of the greatest collection of explosive athletes on planet earth. We're talking the biggest, fastest, and strongest people ever training to be the biggest, fastest, and strongest they can be. It's THE elite group, and it's incredibly difficult to have that kind of athleticism and catch up to the skills these guys have been working on their entire lives.
I'm rooting for him, but the honest truth is it's going to be incredibly hard for him to get any kind of playing time.
have you not seen his rugby highlights? No one ever has an angle on this kid. He’s got serious wheels and he’s elusive
@@poindextertunes OK lol
Best winger in world rugby.....no way ...Jonah Lomu......
All these international players seem to try and play offense. If louis end up struggling with catching or holding the ball, the dude would probably be a greatest safety and a missle
10.4 100m gets you in the group, no more.. Some big units there. I hope he has a positive experience, whatever the outcone.
He can't run 10.4 for 100 metres.
