I’m a country Kansas kid that became an Eagles fan at 8 years old. Having lived through the rough years of Kotite, Rhodes and the relentless bullying because of my loyalty to Philly and “our” Eagles, this story literally brought tears to my eyes. What a golden soul.

A 7th round pick who knew nothing about football, and already he’s performing like a top 8 LT. Absolute beast. Jeff Stoutland(the Eagles OL coach) needs a damn raise or something. Whatever he’s getting paid, he’s underpaid 😂

I follow any Polynesian in the NFL, but Jordan in particular. He's a football version of Steven Adams, but with a great singing voice. I loved Kelce's comment in the doco about their Xmas record, that he suspects Jordan only plays NFL as a means of launching his singing career.
They are a little different. Steven played in professional leagues before going to America whereas Jordan had never played football before.

@@kahnsweetman6564 Funny you mention that, I’m a Wellington lad myself. I guess technically it’s pro ball, but probably a lower level than US college ball. Most of the players have other jobs. The Aussie NBL I’d consider a true pro league.

@@genealogy.digger Penei at the moment is more refined as a Football player, in terms of experience and overall technique. Yet, I am encouraged by Jordan's huge upside and impressed on how quickly he's picked up the game. I credit not only Jordan himself, but also the Eagles Offensive Line Coach for his rapid development. I believe they are both going to make All Pro and the Pro Bowl in the near future.

There are a lot of Pacific Islands people in our sports teams ,they are over represented in our Rugby League & Rugby Union teams .It’s a generalisation but many of the big guys have what we call “soft hands” . Clever ball movement in heavy traffic & ball security in addition to the big physical presence in offence & defence.Jordan has been a great story because he is a great human being. There are a few other young men here in Australia that are prospects but they will have to Jordan’s attitude to progress.
I lived in Hawaii for 7 years. Pacific Islanders are NATURAL warriors. Some of the best players come from that region. I hope to see more Rugby guys make the move.

I used to live a 10 minute drive from Bankstown. I’m so happy for him. Rugby League is a good game but because Australia has such a small population, the highest earning stars are only about 1 million a year. 4 years/64 mil is insane.

Jordan is in all senses of the phrase an absolute CLASS ACT. Working in Center City Philly I’ve met Jordan personally several times and seen him pay bar tabs for people he didn’t even know. Very humble very down to earth. I can say for the whole city, Jordan we are glad you are here as a person and player. We hope to never see you leave!

You're not wrong. Rugby League is closer to an endurance sport than anything else, so his transition to what is an explosive, power based sport is even more impressive.

If I was a college coach I would have recruiters living on the Samoan islands! I don't think I need to explain why but I will. #1, they have incredible genetics and it makes for incredibly strong, big, natural athletes! #2nd, they are unselfish, humble, respectful, intelligent and are full of heart and soul! All of those things make them perfect for team sports! Incredible human beings!!

They like playing Rugby Union and to a lesser extent Rugby League. American Football is not really on their agenda
@@robertryan7204 Actually it's any physical sport in those confines. Remember, American Samoa is the only connection to America in the South Pacific being that it's a US Territory. Naturally, Polynesians are and influenced by Australia and New Zealand.
There are also huge genetically gifted ppl from West Africa. But they don't have any rugby experience. I think the rugby experience helps the Samoan/Oceanic ppl alot.
Just having Stoutland say: "Having a guy with no bad habits". Mailata, he must be opening doors for other International Players, humble, down to earth.

I married a girl from Bankstown 28 years ago and lived there for 7 years. It’s a rough place but the people are the salt of the earth. Rugby league is huge in NSW and kids play from 5yrs till they are too old to play anymore. Most Aussie kids play every sport and are tough. The US should set up an Academy in Australia they would see a lot of talented kids come through to college or the NFL.

Put him in a room with great mentors like Stoutman, JP, Kelce, Lane and Brooks. Have the comfort and familiarness with Vaitai and Seumalo. Have veteran D-linemen like BG, Long and Cox willing to help and share their insights to improve Jordan’s craft. Jordan did the hardest part by not giving up. Good for him! 🤙🏽
