Even though he did get a head start, he actually did really well with staying well ahead of the other athletes which i can say is really hard because its tricky to stay the same speed and consistency throughout the whole race. And a big camera along with it. Huge kudos to him.

I'm not really surprised though. Cameramen are extraordinary breeds of humans. In the movies, they can survive nuclear blasts, They were able to keep up during the fight of General Zod and Superman, They were able to capture the fight between Godzilla and Kong unscathed, heck, even Zombies ignore them in every zombie movie I know.

I was the cameraman back in my school, and can confirm that I had a taste of the divine power only cameramen can experience.
For me it was the freedom to go anywhere, even restricted places. Standing at the stage during a concert? No problem. Going inside "staff only" room? Sure. All I need was a camera and that's all.

He was losing his lead as they were approaching the finish line, and he did start out way ahead of the runners, but he does have some serious skills in running and being able to hold a camera that steady. I will definitely give him props for being able to do all that.
