  • Hi, in this video I show you how I made a knife, a fork and a viking-style spoon, all by hand, very handmade. On the handle of each utensil I used the blacksmith technique of twist reverse, giving it an incredible look. Watch the video and check how it turned out, leave your like and comment, promote the video to help leverage the channel. Thanks
    In this channel you will find videos dedicated to the manufacture of: knife, miniatures, tools, machines, among others.

    Beautiful metal shaping, you are a talented artist. Also, using recycled materials is good for the planet. I would strongly recommend that you polish the fork and spoon to remove any slag impurities if you wish to use them to eat with. The residue on the surfaces of the fork and spoon should not be ingested as they would in all likelihood contain noxious elements.

    • @MakerHA
      @MakerHA  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you my friend. Yes, I agree with you, but when I tempered I used kitchen oil, and in the tempering I also used kitchen oil to burn them, so they are dark, but you can be sure that it doesn't hurt, because it's a vegetable oil.

    Nice work thanks for taking the time to show us but what is the white powder you put on the hot steel

    • @MakerHA
      @MakerHA  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you my friend. In this video I didn't use any kind of powder on the steel, what appears in the video is ash because my forge is charcoal, so there is a lot of soot, which could be the white powder you refer to. But when you to fuse steel, you usually use a white powder called borax, which serves as a flux for steels. 👍👍👍

      Thank you my friend. It wasn't cold, my workshop is very open so sometimes, depending on the position, the light gets in the way of the red of the steel. It's not borax, it's coal dust, it's ash, because my forge is charcoal. 👍👍👍

    • @MakerHA
      @MakerHA  Před rokem

      I usually always use cherry red, but if you have any doubts when tempering, use a magnet, the ideal is when it starts to no longer stick to the magnet, test it before dipping it in the oil, as soon as it starts to come off the magnet it can diving that will have a good result. 👍👍👍
