Project Jigsaw continues! We get our project tied together with a new roll bar! Safety and structure are key in building a racecar. Our suspension is all custom made tubing aside from the coilovers. Solid motor and trans mounts are going to make riding in this thing a teeth chattering good time. Come along as Tony and Ryan problem-solve the complex engineering behind this project, and take jabs at each other all along the way!

Can't wait to see the body take shape. Personally I hope you use more GT-40 inspiration then Ferrari.
This is my favorite project on CZcams rn.. can't wait to see the bodywork
Happy to hear it! Thank you! Body designs are on the close horizon. 😁
I'm getting the feeling it's gonna look like a Dino with the 911's roofline. And that's a good thing, the Dino is beautiful.
Greetings from the UK 🇬🇧! Keep it up guys, jigsaw is my favourite build on CZcams at the moment 👌
Awesome! Thank you!
I think it's ... more Death Resistant. NICE
The custom emblem was great I reckon that it just needs some enamel and sealant to push to the next level.
👍on the rollbar 2.0!
Thank you! We agree!
You guys should do something with Tony Angelo (Stay Tuned) You guys are both putting american V8's in porsches right now and are maybe an hour or two away from one another :)
We just loaned him a Porsche tool ironically so he could get that engine installed! 🤣
@@CrucibleCoachworks Hah, nice!
Saw that mention of Crucible on Stay Tuned, thanks for helping them out! I too would love to see a collab, two of my favorite channels!
@@dennyo3992 oh wow, somehow I missed that!
Wouldn't it make more sense to design the rollbar AFTER the bodywork? Great project tho, enjoying every minut of it.
You're supposed to say "make the noise!" when using a digital angle gauge.
I have the same air ratchet as Tony, meaning we are blood brothers who never throw anything away.
Hey guys. Appreciate the reply to the Kenya question and putting my comment up on screen. Imagine my wife's surprise seeing my name there.
“Version 2.0 is better than version 1.0”. My fave truth bomb of the episode😂 love how you guys design and troubleshoot on the fly - it’s what makes all your builds so great!🔥🔥🔥
Can’t wait to see which direction you take the bodywork styling on this one. Really enjoying the project and technical detail
This build is awesome! Can't wait to see te design plan for this car
Brilliant as always
Soo good love this series 😍
Starting to take shape! Looks great!
Yes! Thank you!
IDK why they just didn't alter the Porsche roll bar. A good weld could have been as strong as a regular length of steel.
It's an odd shape in many ways (both in it being a triangular tube and the double headed hoops) that doesn't fit our design end goals. It's made for a convertible car (to look a certain way with the top down), and our new body will not be convertible - so that shape would look funky/out of place inside the cabin!
@@CrucibleCoachworks I see
FIA cert is 1.75" .095 tube for the main hoop so I always use 1 3/4". I actually run .102 wall because thats just what I can get easily and when it stretches innthe bender its still above .095
Guys getting the old end sections of them shock towers back in play and scupting from there is the way all car mods of this nature should go!!
Also wouldnt Box Sections be better for chassis restructuring?
As Chaka Kahn said - Ain't no body!
Truer words man, truer words.
Loving this build. Such a great project. If the cage is welded in, is there a reason you don’t build the cage into the B pillar?
Interesting choice to have a circular saw blade in your Project Jigsaw logo.
Never let them know your next move. 🤣
Why not build onto the oem roll bar? You know it's mounted well and damn strong.
Won't fit the new dimensions, roof or aesthetics
@Biodebatable aesthetics i can see but as the new one is wider and taller...
I feel they should have just closed the oem hoop design up as it looked better bracketed to the chassis
Wouldn’t you want to do the body first and then do the roll bar?
I would agree with that method more
YOU HAVE A CARDBOARD TEMPLATE. You can just run the tape around the cardboard templelate. Do I have to think of everything?
Check out "stay tuned" he put a v8 in a Porsche too.
Weird on the tube slippage, I’ve got an M600 from RF and have never had a tube slip. Maybe you got a clamp with too big an ID? I suppose you could sand the parting line to decrease the ID and increase the crush.
We haven't had it happen either, but I think it was user error. After cleaning the tube again and lubing the contact surface for the rollers, the slippage stopped!
Porsche 928 Restomod que le sucede?? Me gustaba mucho el esfuerzo de ese cambio de imagen que le dabas respetando las formas basicas que lleba de origen. Cuando volveras crear contenido de ese coche?
We will be making more videos on it very soon!
Should you guys be making this look like a Nova if you want to really make it DEATHPROOF? 😅😊
To me, this feels like a backwards way of doing things. Why not make the body first?
Could go either way. We need this rollbar to attach the rear structure to so we can make this chassis drivable before building the body. We want to be sure the main structure and running gear is set up before making the body, so then we don't run into the issue of our body needed changed if we did it the other way around. Saves a lot more time and frustration this way, imo!
Purpose built race cars usually fab the cage prior to hanging the body. If it’s a production car and leave the body on the chassis and mount points need to be able to accommodate welding around the top. You’ve got to be able to drop it through the floor to weld the top bars and potentially remove some other parts to complete some of the welds.
@@CrucibleCoachworks Ok, thanks. That makes sense. I guess i would be afraid of locking down a roofline before any design of the body has begun. But there are more than one way to skin a cat. Love the project!
What is this car show you're referring to? It's not the event in Chattanooga is it; I was completely disappointed about missing that event.
The Costal Virginia Auto Show in mid-November!
@@CrucibleCoachworksThank you, I'll mark my calendar.

Dude. I know you don't have control over it, but there were SO many commercial breaks in this episode. There were 4 breaks with 2 ads each. I hope you're gettin' paid for those.
