In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Be sure to stay subscribed to stay up to date with my latest expeditions, y'all! - Zábava
😢 Thanks for saying "bring your pets in" you're a good man.
This was the super chill, snow chill, subzero chill, frigid chill, ice chill of Texas.
Mike's stick is an extendable paint roller pole from Home Depot or Lowes with a heavy paint roller frame on the end. I have one also. And I made several different hook options for mine.
Oh I think I would like to know also how you made out with all the nascar stuff
If its private I understand
Drip your faucets on opposite ends of the house. Put a sponge or towel down in the sink to make the drip inaudible. The outside wall sinks you can leave those cabinet doors open to your warm house air. But you may already know all of this 💙❤️happy Valentine's Day to you and your sweetheart!
A lot of houses in the south don’t have furnaces. They use electric heaters and maybe Kerosene.
I am glad you're there and not in Minnesota where the temperature is in the negatives including wind chill like -35° below.
"It was quick, it was simple, it was sweet, it was good. Ya." Lol only you would say that about dumpster diving. Me to friend. My brother and I loved to do this when he was still alive. The garbage gods were good to us. Thanks for the memories. 💓
I realize that you’re doing this for the money but, as someone who hates what is being done to our environment, I really appreciate what you do! We Americans are such wasteful people, by nature........ it’s so nice to see someone recycling and reusing everything they can! I also love the content, so thanks!
I live where it gets down to -50 below zero. We do not worry to much about the pipes in the house. We do take steps to prevent freeze up of the water line outside the house. We put old blankets down on the ground before the snow starts in the winter. It helps make a little more layer of protection if we do not get a heavy snowfall for the winter. We make sure that no snowmobiles drives over the water lines because that would push the frost level deeper into the ground.
Your super to watch,
Thank you~
Super Scrap Man!

You work so hard i like your video you are awesome to find the dumpster.
6 in. of snow and 6 deg in my part of Ky this morning.... stay warm y’all....
It’s been really cold in the Chicagoland area last week and this week -7F at 7am now it 1F at 4:30pm. We’ve been keeping the sink on a drip so the pipes don’t freeze!! Yup Mike in jeans must be cold! I’ve heard you say boy it’s cold outside but you still have shorts on!
Take it from someone who lives with 15 below 0 3 months of the year you don't have to wrap the pipes if you leave the faucet on Just a Touch so that the water is dripping out the pipes won't freeze
If you turn on a faucet to a very slow drip, it will keep your pipes from freezing
It has to be the cold water tap
Texas bout to find out that a blizzard just ain't at Dairy Queen! Love ya mike from up here in the North East!
Happy Valentine's to everyone here on the channel . Stay warm and be safe
I remember having to wrap our pipes in wintertime. Also leave your faucets on just a Lil stream so they don't freeze and bust.
Stay warm. We are in the Texas Panhandle, we are FREEZING up here. Lol My dogs are making the fastest potty trips ever.
Stay safe and God Bless
Thanks for the poop update.
mikey you make our day be safe and stay warm
About time ya make another video bro I was getting tired of watching old videos just to get my fix 😆
Hey Mike have you ever thought in getting a motorized wire striper. You can make more money 💰 The machine will pay itself off in no time.
He has one that hooks up to a drill
He has a video showing him using one.
Motorized strippers are the best, super fast and time saving!
@@naynay4524 I still prefer human strippers :D
You say it cold, it was 7°here in EASTERN Oregon lastnight
-2 in St Louis.
-8 here last night and-6 as a. High today but -16 degrees tonight
Bob I live just a few hours north of where Mike lives in Houston about 20 minutes north of Austin and we are predicted to get down to 7 degrees here for the low as well tonight. Another thing because we usually get a wet cold I hear from folks that have lived in the northern states unless you are on lake effect wind etc that say after experiencing one of our colder winters which albeit are rare they say this is worse. We have been in a deep freeze the past few days and it has not gotten above freezing. We along with several of our neighbors lost several large branches and trees due to them being covered in ice from the sleet storm including one that split and it fell on the back side of our house but luckily did only superficial damage. This for us is one for the record books as for you guys that may be somewhat normal but for us this is record breaking weather and we are in no way equipped for this crap. The roads are all shut down and iced over now and we are slated to get more of this with a mixture of sleet, snow and ice. They have even said that we are likely get anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow and we are also likely to get blizzard or white out conditions. We are talking Central Texas here not Minot, ND! I am a 5th generation Texan on one side and 6th generation on the other and never in my lifetime did I ever think especially in this part of Texas the words blizzard or white out would be used in this part of our state ever when talking about the weather conditions!
If we drop down to negative digits for any length of time I have a feeling there will be serious power outages and pipes bursting every where as we are just not set up for this kind extended cold weather.
As the popular meme states "to my northern neighbors your weather has gotten drunk and lost and right now is in my yard making a mess of things. Please come down here and take it back home where it belongs!"
Scrap scrap scrap 👏
Yes....it was cold there...I think it was colder then up here in the northwest..
Good job on the pet reminder.

They said this morning that the high for today would be -8, but right now it's -9 with -28 degrees below zero wind chill. I live on the border of IA, MN and SD.
thanks mike
yes texas is colder than chambersburg PA right now. i am so sorry. stay safe yall
Should have grabbed all the blue noodle like things, some for you, some for the neighbors. I'm sure they have some pipes they'll need to cover and protect too.
I'm in southern Idaho and they won't touch the coax cable at all. They even showed me with a magnet on some I had and it was actually magnetic, they said it's not even copper in them. Just my yard here, but .80cents a pound we do get for the telecom wire, like the ethernet wire, so that does add up pretty fast. :)
Yes !
The cold keeps the stank at bay.
Hi Mike..Nice scrap haul..Stay safe out there and stay warm..I'm in Indiana it's 7 degrees here and we have a lot of snow still more to come and going to get colder..
One persons trash is another mans treasure :)
You are so amazing, love all your videos. Love your little giggles. Thank you for being you. You inspired my son to become a scavenger. God bless you.
Dumpster juice Frostys ✌️
Hi most yards take the coaxial as tin shred.but I strip my coaxial to see if it has copper core and copper shielding. You should strip a bit to see if its steel or copper.
I always check with a magnet for steel cores. Copper cores are rare but sometimes worth stripping👍
If we were to hunker down every time it snowed we would be locked up in our houses six months out of the year. Upstate New York. LOL enjoy it while you can.
Everyone has a hustle 👍🏾
The ballast needs to be checked, I usually remove the lid and look, if it is not heavily flooded and the wire is copper, then I am happy to disassemble it, because you need to do everything with a couple of movements with a hammer so that the metal falls out)
I checked the scrap metal forum online about the coax price and it seems most are basically sneeking it into their shred as the scrapyard has no use for it. Nobody was selling it as coax for more than .05 cents per pound.
if your worried about your pipes freezing and it only happens once and awhile just let them run a bit flowing water wont freeze in your temperatures
Ok. 🤝
Yeah a new video! Hello from freezing cold San Francisco California
Guten abend. 👍 👌 💪
Gotta be strong! Stay safe folks!
5 inches of snow in El Paso Tx this morning! Headed your way be safe brother! Tomorrow and Tues in your area it will be ice storms!
It is 18° here today. 😁 .... I live in Northern Michigan so. But I can see your breath...that is too cold for Texas.
Re: writing on bathroom stalls and alternate title ... no thanks, I have enough problems. It hits zero here at night at least once a Winter, sometimes a lot more. Gotta love a good Polar Vortex!
Hi,mike noce stuff you have all day...........
Texas cold is hilarious when I watch from Canada. Lol
I'm in the North East. Gotta friend in Texas complaining it's cold there. It was 60
Nice haul lots of ss did not know about the steel in the rim thank you
Love watching your channel you always make me lol 😂
First i thought i had hit the wrong channel.... Jeans on Mike...?? Must be VERY cold at your Hood!! Snibbits here and small pieces there... its piling up, like raindrops becomming a river! 😱 Stay warm out there!
Mike, almost all yards will accept any kind of wire (co-axial, aluminum core, I mean ALL kinds) as they all are recyclable and they all contain some kinds or metal or plastic that can be re-used. If your yard does not take it, call around your area and ask. You find so much garbage wire, you should get paid for them. Philippe from Bradenton, FL
It is interesting that scrappers do not get criticized for not taking certain metals when contractors get criticized for throwing the same metal in the dumpster.
If it's cold the water won't freeze if you keep the water slowly running in the sink and tub. No need to insolation on your pipes.
Mike to get the footage on the spools check the number on the inside of the spool then the number from the outside end the difference in the numbers is the footage left on the spool.
Always impressed with your filming and lighting. Other dumpster diver are holding their recorder in their hand
4° here in Murphysboro Illinois this morning ☃️! Thanks for another fun video. Hope y'all don't lose power. Stay safe and God bless you and your family!
Nice scrapin'
Heard on NPR parts of Texas getting to -17 3 inches of snow. It's a record for yall
Mike I'm yours biggest fan
Stay home and stay safe Mike!
Stay warm
Get that dirt wire!👍😁👍
I mready to rumble one dumpster at a time. Ty Mike
Those noodle non noodles are awesome should have gotten more then 4
I made a similar retrieval stick out of an old paint roller.
there is copper in the center of coax and an aluminum shielding braid so if you strip it there is a little value there. also if you sell it on the second hand market remember that coax labeled as RG 6 coax is worth more than RG 59. Be safe mike.
Be careful out there with this cold weather love the vids and action keep up the great work see you in your next vid amigo
In Michigan we have 2 ft of snow 16 degrees
I would say when the wire says a number on it it will mean how much wire you used not how much is left. So you look at the number and use as many feet you need and work it out what number it is at the end.
