In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Why don’t you scrap out the cpaps if you aren’t comfortable selling them? At the least it’s an air pump motor inside. My husband uses one of these and yes, you have to get a doctor to adjust the machine to a person’s needs. But I imagine people can buy them anywhere.
I'm not a scrapper but for some reason I'm addicted to watching Mike digging in dumpsters 😭

YES!! CONSERVATION!! As a conservative person. I have been recycling before it was even mainstream! It is amazing how much people throw away that can be reused, recycled, repurposed, and of course scrapped!! People IMHO have become too liberal and just throwing things away!!

These medical equipment dumpsters just prove and show what is wrong with our society and why Healthcare costs are out of control.
Have dates on medical equipment and you are not to use it when expired might have been stored to long
all down to law suits if any one got a infection on out of date used stuff people would be seeing left right and centre got to be even more careful now days due to covid
It is now fishtanks hose. Or was it always fish tank hose, just folks were being charged a ton for it!
Unfortunately those hoses have an expiration date, have to throw out. Should send to 3rd world countries though

The inner cannual goes inside a trach for breathing for the patient who can not breath for themselves. The bags you found are for feeding patients who can not eat for some reason, usually using an ng tube that goes in the nose to the stomach or a button port in their abdomen. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it very much. i worked 33 years in a VA hospital so seen all of that stuff.

Hey hoss. I know people complain about leaving scrap such as the wall studs. The general rule of thumb is 90% of open top containers are took to a central location and dumped to separate the material so it doesn't end up in the landfill. So don't pay them no mind. Keep up the good work remember ( one man's trash is another's treasure) Scrap ON
That construction dumpster at the beginning of the video is an example of how so much recyclable metal gets sent to the landfill along with the drywall and other trash. If it weren't for dumpster divers and scrap pickers like Mike I can only imagine how much good materials and sellable items would be in a landfill.
7:24 they are parts of an antenna system (radio transmitting). Metal (often copper or aluminium in a glass fibre tube). The connectors on the ends are pretty expensive, fit on the end of very expensive low loss coax cables.

OMG Mike I see all that CPAP Stuff, machines, hoses, bags etc and I cringe............the price of that stuff is hugely expensive for people who need CPAP equipment. I do not understand it all being dumped unless damaged or unfixable......a decent hose replacement here in Australia averages about $75 AUD

The cooling bags for shipping make great ice packs! I keep a few in the freezer, and put them in a Crown Royal bag when I need to apply one. Or, put them in the fridge for a gel cool pack. I guarantee you could sell those at your garage sales.

Those blue cloth items are for nurses and nursing assistants to wear as back support; they wear them when transferring patients from bed to wheelchair, and wheelchair to a seat. They looked new, and likely worth around $75 a piece new.

Mike, the larger blue slings are for lifting patients, they are used with a cherry picker. The smaller ones , with the Velcro are personal restraints. They help individuals stay in wheel chairs. Also looked like there were some air mattress in there.

Hoss another mentioned note the wheel chair foot rests are good for use on tree stands for hunting I found a bunch in a dumpster at a supply store and reverse then and screwed them to the tree and it works great.

That Coach box he threw away is worth $9. Name brand boxes sell on eBay or can be used to resell expensive items. Coach and Jimmy C are worth a few bucks.

it is crazy how much medical stuff gets thrown away after ins companies pay exorbitant prices. my gf has been dealing with terminal cancer and we have boxes of supplies that never got used along with unused pumps etc...so much waste

If they are in near new or new condition, those Jimmy Choo boxes sell for around $20 to $25 on Ebay. The little Coach box sells for about $12.00. Even more if they have the packaging material inside! Not sure if that is enough to make them worth taking or not!

Those nail things remind me of Caltrops. Caltrops are the oldest known form of passive trapping/defense made by man. If you take two U or V-shaped pieces of wire, sharpen the ends and twist them together in the middle, you have replicated that ancient, and more importantly, modern tool for catching FOOLS!
Imagine having a smoke break out the back door of your place of employment hearing this dude talking to all the dumpsters, and everything he finds. Punching boxes and stuff

The dark resmed hose has copper wound around inside. It heats the hose.
The nail looking things with the square pads? The backing peels off the pad, and the nail sticks onto A/C ductwork, then insulation is stabbed onto the nails and a square (sometimes round) piece of tin is pushed onto the nail to hold the insulation on. Then the leftover nail end is clipped off. Visit an A/C shop to see it in action. Pretty cool!

I am sat here, after giving myself a number 1 on the hair cutting machine. I also found out on youtube that the skinhead hair style and mod style was brought to old England UK London by the very young Jamaicans back in the early 1950/1960s. And they used to dance together too. :-)

One thing about co-ax cable, check with a magnet. If it sticks, it’s junk. If no stick, then that older stuff has a copper core sometimes.
