For those wondering why they are two fire houses
So long ago their was two different fire stations one was for the city fire department and the other was the Rural Fire Department then they merged with Erv's Rural Fire Department and they changed the name to Erv's Sparta Fire District now today they respond to both in town and out of town. The fire hall on the thumbnail holds the wild grass/ brush fire apparatus and the other one holds the stand Fire apparatus (tower 1, rescue 1, tender 1, etc)

Sparta, not too far from my deer hunting stand.
What's with fire stations side by side that close together.

I’ve seen 3 agencies sharing a single station in Naples FL. North Collier, Greater Naples and CCEMS right by Grey Oaks.
Sparta…. In the Heat of the Night!!!
This is Sparta WISCONSIN, not the Sparta from the TV show
hot diggity dawwggggg lesss gooo get ourselvesssss warmmmmm!
why is station 1 right next to station 2?
Why are there two stations so close
Seems weird seeing volunteers running red lights and sirens on their POVs, in Illinois, POVs can only run blue with no sirens.
i thought the same exact thing. i was in the volunteer service in new jersey for many years. and ONLY a deputy or assistant chief in a personal vehicle can have red light and siren. Everyone else, ff, LT, capt, only use blue lights. (with some people choosing to add some white lights with the blue.
@@michaelpatanella I don't even know if chiefs here can have red and sirens. Then again our chief responds in his work truck with his hazards, but he works for like Pierce manufacturing parts or something so you'd think he'd be allowed to put lights on.
Isn't that strange? Washington State was the same way. In the vehicle you drive every day, you got a little identifier green flasher with no EV privileges, but you get to the station you can operate a class 7 or 8 truck you drive once in a while at full code 3...
@@billshaw770 exactly, and its not even a law for people to pull over for volunteers, but as soon as they see a big green or red truck coming at them with red lights, they stop...
Chiefs run red lights and sirens regular volunteer firefighters use blue lights.
I Live in Louisiana and We Respond with Red and Blue Lights.
Any particular reason to have two fire stations 1/2 block apart?
To hold all the apparatuses also in description it tells why
Just one Engine, and one Tanker for a Basement Structure Fire ? Seems like a mediocre response. Here in Delaware, we roll our own Squad/Rescue Engine, Tanker, and 2 more Engines, and that does not count what our surrounding Depts nearby will be automatically responding with.
I've never seen volunteers equipped with red and white lights and sirens! Is that the norm in Wisconsin?
Yes, volunteers in my WI Village have lights and sirens in their personal vehicle.

@@michaelpatanella Interesting. Where I'm from, volunteers run green lights
Technically not everyone runs light and sirens most volunteer stations do some some stations don’t allow it
@@WisconsinFireVideos I guess it probably depends on the call when it comes in from dispatch
Where i am volunteer use green flashlight lights
Where is this dept located
Sparta, WI
