This is a video of our flight experience with Scoot, a low cost carrier budget airline, flying from Singapore to Davao on a Sunday, March 13, 2022. The aircraft was an Airbus A321neo with a seat configuration of 3-3 with only one aisle in the middle of the aircraft. We were onboard Scoot flight TR360 which took off from Singapore at 10:20 a. m. and arrived Davao at 14:00. We have included some textual commentary throughout this video of our observations and insights on our experience with this particular budget airline flight.

ok... i think this will be an adventure :) Used to fly only SIA it will be uncomfi with all the lower standards.. i think i will my own review about it.. traveling with 2 parents and one 3 year old boy in march 24.. hope it wont be that bad some are reviewed on YT.
We hope to hear all about your experience. Please share all about it with us here. We will look forward to your reply 🙂
We just flew Scoot from Davao/Singapore and Singapore/Davao The food was the worst i've ever experienced on a plane and it was not edible so if you can eat before you fly but its actually just a 3 hour 10 or 15 min flight even though they say 3 hour 40 min,Just drink the water and eat the cookies which were actually decent and Scoot has earlier nonstop flights than any other airline from Davao to Singapore and Singapore Davao and they only fly Airbus planes as opposed to Singapore air which is flying Boeing 737 max 8s again which i will not fly in anymore! Scoot was fine other than the food,Short flights both ways and a good airline which is owned by Singapore Air
Yup totally agree. If Scoot would only step up its game on its inflight catering to make it worth the amount paid, they just might take the lead in the budget carrier market. Because safety-wise and aircraft maintenance-wise, we'd say Scoot is already there. It just needs to boost its inflight service offerings to outdo other budget carriers. 🙂
Please be aware that Scoot is a budget airline. Don’t expect too much from a budget airline.
FYI, Silk Air was not a budget airline. It was the regional wing of the bigger Singapore Airlines.
Thank you for the feedback. A budget airline can also perform admirably. We do enjoy travelling on Air Asia. We were hoping the flight experience would be no less pleasant with Scoot. Unfortunately, it was not so. However, we look forward to an improvement in Scoot's inflight service standards, and we will fly with Scoot again from time to time to see whether the airline seriously values continuous improvement in its inflight offerings so as to increase its share of a very competitive budget airline travel market. We do believe that being a member of the Singapore Airlines Group and being Singapore's low cost carrier, Scoot will not content itself with keeping things the way they are and would instead find ways to sharpen its edge within the budget travel segment. Even within a budget airline travel market, poor inflight service performance does not necessarily translate to long term competitiveness, profitability and survival. When budget airline travelers become increasingly aware that they get more value for money elsewhere, they will take their business to whichever budget airline makes them happier.
Tumpak… 😍😍😍

Fly budget but expect full service quality 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Budget airlines do compete very tightly on both price and quality of inflight service. Price matching is already fairly common, so the only thing left is for the quality of inflight service to become the differentiating value proposition that confers a competitive advantage above the rest. In the end, passengers will give their business to the market competitor offering the best value. If by full service is meant paying $17 for an inflight meal and getting what it's worth, then yes, it is of course expected. Our video shows viewers exactly what this particular flight experience was like. Video footage doesn't lie. :-)

You talked shit about their food..yet u finished it😢.$17 is not to cry price.Your content is budget why crying about the food. Why not focusing about the whole content not just about the food.
@@bernardo12474 we'll soon be uploading other videos of other budget airlines. When those videos are uploaded, viewers will then be able to see what we mean when the inflight experience with Scoot is compared with better low cost carrier competitors. We're merely pointing out areas where Scoot can be more competitive so that budget airline travelers can see it for themselves. Otherwise, how will Scoot be able to outperform rival budget airlines that offer a better inflight experience at a more competitive price?
One of the best meals i had from a budget carrier was with airasia. I agree with you on that.
Glad to know you enjoy Air Asia's inflight meals too. It's almost like eating a delicious meal at a hawker center in Singapore. 🙂

Scoot are now using the A321neo all the way from Singapore to Perth! Thats almost 6 hours. Imagine sitting in these uncomfortable seats for so long 😱
It would be worse if 100% of the seats were occupied. Imagine the long queues to use the lavatory!
@@budgetairlinetravel And the fact that Singapore Airlines flies their excellent 787 on the same route... that's just another example of wealth inequality. Those who can afford fly like a boss, those who can't fly like on a bus.
@@ZRHTrainspotter We totally understand what you're saying. Budget airlines should not be using narrow body aircraft for flights such as the ones between Singapore and Perth. On short-haul flights, travelling on narrow body aircraft can still be comfortable when there are many vacant seats in the flight. We have just uploaded our second video showing that, and you will be able to watch it in this link: czcams.com/video/EXAHYwl8tHo/video.html :-)
@@budgetairlinetravel Ima watch it with pleasure! :)

Hello. Do they weigh our handbag aside from the hand carry luggage?
From our experience in this flight, neither our handbag nor our hand carry luggage were weighed. But we are unsure whether this was a one-off exception and whether all other flights with Scoot will be the same. To be safe, we recommend other passengers to keep within what is permitted in writing by Scoot, and as of the time of this flight, the permitted carry on baggage was up to 2 carry on bags, the total of weight of which should not exceed 10kg. 🙂
Hi can I check if there were lavatories in front ? Or just all the way to the back?
Is this a review for the airline or discrimination..u have chosen budget carrier and ur comments are hideous!!..
This video presents what we experienced on this particular flight. We choose to fly various budget carriers from time to time in order to present flight experiences with these budget carriers. Some budget carriers improve their offerings over time, and others unfortunately do not. They are what they are. Our video allows viewers to see what our experience was like, and to compare it with other CZcams videos with the same airline or other airlines or with the same route or different routes. Viewers can use the information to their advantage in choosing whether to fly with any particular airline or not. In the end, passengers will give their business to whichever airline (budget carrier or otherwise) they perceive would give them the best value.🙂
IKR OMG
@@N779XW_Productions Exactly :-)
@@budgetairlinetravel now I get it! Ur doing smth like a #brutalyhonest :-)
@@N779XW_Productions Yes, we were just showing what the inflight experience was, exactly the way it was. We do not have anything against any particular airline. In fact, we would be glad if each airline could steadily improve its performance over time and try to outdo their competitors in offering passengers the best service even within the budget airline category. To do that, they would need to know their areas of improvement, and they can find that out from what their passengers think, including their decisions on which airline they prefer to fly with and which airline they try to avoid if they could. So the videos that we create simply heighten the awareness of both passengers and potential passengers about what each particular flight experience is like, to help them make better decisions with more information. And their decisions on whether or not to fly with a particular airline will definitely draw the attention of the airlines themselves. :-)

Hallo Scoot! When Scoot fly to Semarang / Solo?
We hope it happens soon. 🙂
That meal looked more inferior than the $5 meal you can buy at Hawker's. If I were a Scoot passenger I'd make sure I have grabbed a nicer meal at the airport just before my flight. I feel for you but I'm laughing out loud while watching and reading your captions.
Hahaha exactly. Will grab a bite prior to boarding next time we fly on this airline. 🙂
Do they allow foods bought outside? I read somewhere they dont allow that w/c sucks bigtime
@@froilandsteve Since the Singapore-Davao route is a short flight, one can stuff themselves up at Changi Airport first and then board the plane with a full stomach. That's one way of getting around the depressing inflight meal trap.

Its have Free baggage allowance or no have
Is a sling small bag counted in 10kg hand carry baggage?
In this particular flight we flew in, we had a hand carry baggage and a small sling bag as well and there were no problems. Having said that, we cannot generalize that all flights will be always the same and will always allow this to happen. So, if you wish to be 100% certain, we recommend that you address your query to the airline directly as the airline should be able to provide you with a definite answer. In our case, when we fly with Scoot, we bring along a hand carry baggage and a small sling bag, and if the airline confronts us about it and tells us that it is not allowed, then we will try to find a solution like squeezing in the small sling bag into the hand carry baggage. We hope our reply to you helps. 🙂
Im scared now this scoot, but one question, when you leave the plane you can say this things to the flight attendant that would be straightforward , ill do that if i were y
Great suggestion! 🙂
Hello, do they allowed bringing one extra carry baggage like sling bag for gadgets? In the itinerary they stated that 1 piece of carry on only. We dont have checkin luggage so we will bring only backpack or cabin baggage.
As at the time of filming this video, Scoot's policy on carry on bags is that each passenger is entitled to two carry on bags and the weight of both bags when summed up may not exceed 10kg in total. Some of the other budget airlines can impose more restrictive policies. Also, it is possible that Scoot may vary its policy from time to time. The best approach is always to contact the relevant airline and confirm with the airline directly.
Hi. May i ask if Scoot’s a321 neo has more legroom than CebPac’s a330 (3-3-3)? Planning to try Scoot sin-mnl.
We have not flown the CebPac a330 yet. So we are sorry that we could not provide you with a leg room comparison. But if seat configuration is 3-3-3, meaning there are two aisles, our guess is that the wider body aircraft is likelier to be less crowded as the middle seats have access to 2 aisles and that probably makes the aisles less congested when passengers make their way to the lavatories. :-)
Can't wait to fly to Chiang Mai Thailand I've tried different airlines before and I have to say I love it except for Philippine airlines what a baggage nightmare when I first went to manila😆
We wish you a pleasant flight to Chiang Mai 🙂
Is there a processing fee when paying online using debit card?
We are unaware of this, as we did not use a debt card to pay online. We recommend confirming this with Scoot directly. :-)
Power outlet available under the seat?
We didn't notice if there was any. We won't be surprised to find out if there isn't any. 🙂
It's about To Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Scott Airlines
Yes, we think so too. 🙂

Hi! I’d like to know if naka encounter kayo nang loss baggage pagdating ninyo sa davao?Balak ko kasi mag travel from Athens to davao via scoot.Marami akong nababasa na bad reviews tungol sa baggage claim.Karamihan nawawala or naiiwan sa sg at di naisasabay sa flight.Pati ba seat binabayaran talaga?
Thanks for your comment mentioning baggage loss and bad reviews, which we assume are related to each other. Similar to what we ourselves do whenever we travel, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers baggage loss if there is a huge concern regarding that based on bad reviews. We have not encountered such an experience at all before, so fortunately we did not need to rely on the travel insurance we purchased. Nevertheless, having travel insurance that covers matters including baggage loss does give us some peace of mind for our travel. 🙂

Ask ko lang po is it okay if my luggage is not 15kg kase mas mabigat sya at yung isa maliit lang around 10kg but allowed po ako sa 30kg na luggage allowance.kse sabi dapat 15kg each luggage .thank u.
Thanks for your comment. We strongly encourage our viewers to comply with baggage weight policies stated by the airline to avoid inconvenience. 🙂

@@budgetairlinetravel Which do you find cheapest and best? Scoot, Cebu Pacific, AirAsia or Jetstar?
@@ZRHTrainspotter I would say Air Asia. (The only saving grace I see in Scoot is the reliability of its aircraft maintenance and safety standards given that it is Singapore-based and that it is owned by Singapore Airlines Group.)

Key takeaway from this video 🙂
Why do we have to see you consume all your food in stead of a real flight review?
Thanks for your feedback. Viewers do not have to see us consume all our food (instead of what they deem to be a real flight review) or any other particular segments of the video, which they may skip at their own pleasure. Some viewers are interested in detailed footage of the inflight meal experience, especially with a budget airline, so this video included such detailed footage in order to meet the expectations of such viewers. 🙂
Its called "budget" . What would you expect seriously. If you want better please take SIA
Budget can always be better. Budget air travel is a very tightly competitive market. Price matching is common, so budget carriers are competing on more than just price and also on inflight service. By putting this video out into the public domain it serves as an info resource for both the supply and demand side of the budget air travel market, and market participants can make better informed decisions. Potential passengers for instance who view this video (and other similar videos) can decide better whether or not they want to give their business to Scoot or to any other budget airline that might be offering better value for money. Reference to SIA is relevant only because Scoot is a member of the SIA Group, and so Scoot would not be expected to offer an inferior product/service within the budget air travel segment it wishes to compete, given the strong reputational link. If passengers harbor a mindset that just because it's budget, they don't deserve to expect any better, then they contribute to preserving status quo and will never get anything better, even if they could. Competitiveness in budget air travel is meant to benefit all consumers, not shortchange them. 🙂
