Can’t believe no one has pointed this out, but this trailer is one minute and one second long, 101. That’s the number to Neo’s apartment in the first movie, which is also a reference to binary code. I wonder if this was intentional or I’ve just seen The Matrix one too many times.
Yeah it’s also the version number of the matrix of which Neo was the One, which was the 5th version. Binary 101 (421) (1x4+0x2+1x1=5)

1-0-1 in binary, or 5 in decimal, is also unusual in that in binary it is the ONLY prime number that forms a symmetrical "cyclops", or a number with a zero in the middle. This could imply that there's only one Neo, but that's self-evident from what's already there in the previous films. Hmm.
And since in this movie, Mr. Anderson directed the in-universe _Matrix_ movies? Hmm. He might be considered an _Architect_, or maybe THE Architect of this particular matrix. Which would imply that Neo, as such, is someone else. Another clue that Trinity is the Neo of this world? That a second White Rabbit character (Bugs) exists. Maybe she's always been there (I'll have to refresh my own memory on this), but a new White Rabbit in itself implies a changed role for Trinity.
First trailer has this too, speed up to 1:01 and the sounds of distortion are there along with Alice in wonderland shot.
One minute and one second are: 61 not 101.. 1 min= 60sec not 100.
This trailer is somehow miles better than the entire movie, it's a damn shame.

To have a trailer consistently hint that it's repeating patterns from the old films but then end it with "maybe this isn't the story we think it is" is such a great hook. I can't wait to see what they do with this meta approach to reboots.

I like how this seems like it’s going to surprise us just like the original matrix did back in 1999 when it released. We don’t know what’s going on in these trailers but we’re for sure in for something wild
It's a continuation of the story from MxO (Matrix Online).
I'm calling it now, this is gonna be a stealth prequel. "Why use old code, to make something new?" and "Maybe this isn't the story we think it is." seem like big clues that we're watching an early iteration of the Matrix, and will perhaps see the "perfect world" that Agent Smith mentioned in the first movie, or one of the ones between that first Matrix and the one from the original movies.

not hard to understand at all, really. pay attention. this is obviously a new (altered) version of the Matrix being created by AI, or possibly even humans ("Why use old code to mirror something new?")
Neo and trinity were healed and put back in the matrix. They are in pods connected to huge machines in a different place, one in front of the other. Why? Interesting.
I was worried they were going to try to cram too much into a 90 minute movie. So happy it's 2.5 hours long.

Resurrections was the _perfect sequel._
When I hear about anyone who wasn't blown away by this, it hits me in this meta way where I feel that *_I am_* the one experiencing a glitch in the Matrix.

@@michaelfarkas2257, for my own taste, I do not watch Matrix movies for the violence. I would actually _avoid_ them because of it. I've never been impressed by gratuitous violence. Anywhere. The hook for me with Matrix movies is the philosophy. How they take on the biggest questions in life.

I actually think that M4 will age well. This is what happened with M2&3. A bunch of my friends hated those follow-ups, and held that it should have ended with M1, no sequels whatsoever. I gave my best effort to explain what those sequels were all about. And today they've been accepted as classic.
Whether or not anyone else comes on board with the Resurrections fanbase, my own personal reason for caring is that this will determine whether or not we get a Double Trilogy. As was explained in the movie, ironically.
And if the quality cannot be maintained, I fully agree that a stake should be driven into its heart. There are some franchises where I refuse to watch the sequels, even though I was the biggest fan of the original film.
This is fantastic, what a brilliant marketing campaign so far, anyone see that shot of the Merovingian, dude's lookin rough. Side note, the machines are at war with eachother now, and one side is ressurecting Neo to help them

You can call it nostalgic callbacks from the original trilogy, but it does seem even in the originals there is a ongoing motif with their imagery and composition that I never noticed. We've already been experiencing déjà vu back then!

It's a prequel, showing earlier iterations of the matrix and neo.

This was a really interesting choice to use as a trailer. The split screens are everywhere… I wasn’t expecting that! It was really fun to watch this 2nd trailer, and was almost as much fun as the first trailer. I’m glad this didn’t give anything away either.
Maybe the director is trying to tell us that we should see the movie, because the story isn’t going to be what (for many of us) we think it will be. I mean, that is the whole point of seeing a movie - - to see something new, bold, odd, and hopefully worthwhile to view it in the first place. Something that will shake up your expectations.
This is beautiful. Along with the first trailer, it is so refreshing to see a trailer that doesn't follow the repeated-to-death 'Inception' style but evokes mystery, concept, associations. Looking very forward to the movie and have my expectations overturned.
I just watched it again and get goosebumps from the voice and sound editing. Whoever made this trailer, please give them a raise.
I speculate that social media is the matrix-within-the-matrix in this story, like a rogue virus that the machines need to control-and that is why they resurrect Neo, to help them keep fight it together with the real-world humans...
I love this movie so much it is the quintessential love story of all time, love conquers all, and at the same time the most hated film by the youth of today for that very reason. Our new generation hates the idea that a feeling, an emotion could change the outcome of a situation. Our newest generation rejects the idea of love, Democracy and family. 14-32 year olds hate the Matrix Resurrections because they don't believe in love. I truly hope this comment gets to the right people because maybe then we can do something about that. FYI i have been apart of many conversations concerning this topic with millions of people all of my life.

Not necessarily. Technically in the lore he was killed while in the matrix in that online game they had. Wouldn’t be surprised if the machines kept his code on lockdown as well like Neo. So he’s possibly just reincarnated but without a physical body anymore. It’ll be interesting to see which way they go.

In the 7th version of the Matrix the physical Morpheus will be gone but will be rebooted in code as an agent that gets saved in the beginning and turned good again.

That would have been an epic storyline, that would have explained John Wick (yes, I know, separate comic book property) and his ability to kill non-stop.

The hype and immense expectations aside, this was actually refreshing, from a "trailer" standpoint.
It was! It doesnt give the whole movie away like most trailers nowadays.
I swear, at the end of one of these Matrix Resurrection trailers, ALL we need to see is a black screen and hear the legendary words "Mr Anderson, welcome back..... We. Missed. You....."
Trinity: "It happens when they change something."
Neo: "I know, you've only said it 53 times already!"
The teasers and trailers have me really excited. I'm just praying they were able to bring back the magic of the first movie.

Ain't gonna happen.. the first one in 1999 came out when that sort of technology was never seen before so it exploded... its 2021 every film has matrix style fight scenes.. its impossible to be as revolutionary as the first
It will have a different kind of magic. The identity of this film is going to be very very different from the original 3. The life event experienced to make her press start on M4, and also where she has expanded both artistically and philosophically will also be huge players in how this feels. Don't expect the Matrix like you know it. Expect the unexpected.

You’ve got to love this trailer. If they do a final proper trailer they need to do it like this. Show scenes with style and impact but don’t give away much.
They've given away tons with this trailer. I feel like I'm just going to be going through the motions now when I watch the movie
Hmm yeah when you analyse closely it does look like they have given away quite a bit. However I still think they’ve held lots back. It’s a tricky balance trying to build hype without giving much away as there’s lots of people out there who don’t know the franchise. I think the current pandemic climate has put pressure to show a bit more than they would have ideally liked. Overall though if you watch the first Matrix film trailer from ‘99 it’s similar. There was lots of scenes shown in that one. Personally I’m now trying not to watch anymore teasers or trailers. I actually hope they don’t release anymore.

@@Thurgor_Supreme I think the plot has long been half figured out cos of so much talk online and some of these trailers. It’s why I always avoid things when I’m looking forward to a film. I managed to do that with films like the Dark Knight films in the past. Unfortunately I’ve not managed to do that here like yourself. I’m now avoiding any more revelations about this film. I would suggest you do the same. I’m confident there’s still much more we do not know.

I'm so excited for this film. I love all the Matrix films and I hope this one will be great as well. I'm also loving the new theme. I hope they release it on the official soundtrack.

Got to be honest, when i first heard they were doing a fourth film i was kinda "meh" but having seen all three of the trailers, i'm excited.
No idea if the director was directly involved in editing the trailers, but whoever has done it they have done a splendid job.
If the film is half as good as the trailers it will be great.
Lana's hand can be felt EVERYWHERE. Go watch the Unreal 5 Matrix game demo that was just released on youtube. She wrote the whole opening 5 minutes monologue/dialogue of Neo and Trinity at the beginning and it's impressive at least in how insanely self aware it is.
I think this is going to give Christopher Nolan a run for his “WTF just happened“ style of story writing.

It's interesting to see the code going up- rather than down. Wonder what that means? Also notice the release date is a mirror image 12-22-21. The original sequels were both released when there was some kind of eclipse or lunar activity on each date. I wonder if that will apply here?

“One pill makes you larger.” Blue pill is shown along with scenes from Neo first waking up. “One pill makes you small.” Red pill is shown along with a revised scene where Neo is waking up differently. Could this mean that the blue pill was to satisfy Neo’s desire to be something bigger than his ordinary self and the red pill was to truly wake him up from his dream and it turns out he is not a messiah but a part of the solution rather than being the sole solution.

Nope, what it means is "hey remember the Matrix???!!!" The song is used because "follow the white rabbit," which I guess is a little subtle. It's just things to trigger the nostalgic part of your brain. Speculation creating hype and media buzz might be an intentional knock on effect. You'd have to ask corporate.
0:05 The scenes outside the Matrix were tinted Blue and the Matrix scenes were Green in the last movies but they were tinted Blue because Neo took the Blue Pill in the last movies and foreshadowed Resurrections--Neo is only *now* taking the Red Pill which is why the wakeup scenes are tinted Red this time. This is the first movie and the others were a mere extended prequel

I feel like thihs is the beginning of a trilogy and we'll get him and OG Morpheus (Fishburne) back in subsequent movies. Maybe a bit like the new Star Wars films, just MUCH better executed.

@@darylferns84 The thing is that i always liked ( LOVED ) his character, Smith is the first villain where is was like… well he’s not wrong on that and that too… is that guy the vilain ? A vilain that wanted freedom and escape from this fake world and the other agents didn’t knew it. And the crazy part in a way is that even it’s a game played with the oracle he made it to Zion.
The marketing team knows their job - these bits make you think what was real in the Matrix as you knew it, and it all ties together well.
A definite for fans of Reloaded and Revolutions, as Resurrections completes this craziness. And, Jessica Henwick as the character Bugs, totally rocked it!!! 💥
Sad to say this after waiting for it to release for years, but it doesn't "complete" anything. It only brings more questions than answers, and more boredom than anything mind-boggling. Disappointing at best. The marketing was the only good part; "maybe this isn't the story we think it is" could not be any truer when we think it wasn't the epic Bachowski made it out to be.

My initial reaction was disappointment, but I recommend re-watching and paying closer attention. There's a lot going on in this film, and I think it's as clever - if not more so - than the original. It's the only way I can see them making a legitimate fourth entry in the franchise, honestly.
