No one ever thought, when the original came out, that this character would jump into popular culture. That this world would intrigue people and make them interested in knowing more about it. It was so well written, so well directed. But most importantly, Keanu made this movie franchise what it is today
Edit: For people saying the movies are not well written, just bang bang gun fu, allow me to remind you that John Wicks character is built up long before he ever touches a gun. The intricacies in the stories are in the details of the world. The rules of the hotel. Whatt motivates these individuals to break/ follow those rules? The writing Is much deeper than just mindless shooting.
I think he is to our era what Dirty Harry was to the 1970s and 1980s, an action hero that perfectly embodies the spirit of the times.
Keanu changed the game with two movie franchises with the matrix after that ever one tried to fight like that and after John wick ever ones is trying to shoot like him now
@Ban this youtube that's how it was for most people I assume. Same for me. It came out, I ignored it. Watched a year later on Cinemax or something, and I kicked myself. I didn't make those mistakes with Chapters 2 and 3.
I really fell in love with the world. I'm kind of dad they didn't expand on it by doing something other than John Wick. Gun Fu only get you so far. :P

Today is March 23 2024.... a year since this masterpiece debuted. I'm hear to pay my respects.
Realll and honestly, this is still one of the best trailers I’ve ever watched like the music is emotional, but doesn’t really good job of capturing the feel of the movie this is still one of the best trailers. I have seen in a while.
I just watched John Wick 4 last night and i was blown away on how good it was . Most franchises get terrible after the second film , but this one just got better and better. The plots got more intricate , each baddy was better than the previous one, every new character introduced , whether a small or large part , was superbly done by the actor and the fight scenes just got better and better. Now we all knew that this was to be the last John Wick film , but WOW what a final twist to the John Wick character . Who would have seen that coming ? I tip my hat to all of those involved in the making , of this amazing film franchise.

Just watched it today. The action, the cinematography, and the cast are just superb. The sudden deaths and CONSEQUENCES of John Wick's actions are truly shown in this masterfully directed film by Chad Stahelski. Just a MASTERPIECE! Truly up there with Mad Max: Fury Road. 11/10

Part of what makes the John Wick series so memorable is the portrayal of the unique culture of the underworld with its hierarchy, rules, scope, etc. It completely sidesteps all the typical mafia tropes we've come to expect from Hollywood, I look forward to seeing more of that in this latest film. Oh and also watching Keanu generously distributing copious amounts of lead and death to random bad guys.
I like that they’ve cultivated this make believe world rather than try and fit this story into a “believable” setting
It works so much to its advantage being able to explore every inch of how this world works, makes me excited for The Continental TV show

Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Ian McShane, Fishburne, Halle Berry are the best actors you could have put in John Wick and easily made it a solid entertaining fun film. Every single chapter was so fun to watch, filled with action and creative kills you just hope don't end! Keanu Reeves, just speechless over his incredible performance everytime which just gets better as the next John Wick releases. The cast was the best picks and had they been other actors it would not be as big and popular as it is, just wow. JW4 blew my high expectations out the window, the movie is the best action movie I have seen since JW3! Brilliant all around and to everyone included in making this masterpiece, this is a movie everybody remembers years ahead and it is so impressive that each chapter has been thoroughly entertaining throughout, there is no bad John Wick movie. This is a must watch!

John Wick chapter 4 was explosive from start to finish. One man facing off a dozen highly trained assassins was mind-blowing. The whole franchise is 10/10, for sure.
I like that because he's such a cool guy, everyone's just collectively decided to ignore the fact that he can't act. They need to change the main character to Benedict Cumberbatch or even Jake Gyllenhaal. Keanu is maybe the reason I don't like this movie as much as most

The story for this franchise is getting deeper while the action gets even crazier. I can already see that the hand to hand combat in this movie is on another level. Knowing Keanu, he probably trained really hard for this.

I remember being in highschool when I watched JW3 waiting for JW4. I was so excited it was set to release in 2021, then it was pushed to 2022 and then 2023. When I first saw this trailer I was so happy. Then finally getting to watch it was the best feeling ever
As good as this series is, the story, the action, the intricacies of it, I truly believe none of it would be possible without the unbelievable dedication of Keanu Reeves. He puts EVERYTHING on the table every time.
In some ways, stories are not that great, first one was average at best.
World building, while detailed, not the best out there.
The only thing that makes it all pure gold is Keanu. Might as well be named Keanu Reeves rather than John Wick.🤷🏽♀️

Man, it's been a year since we saw this modern action masterpiece.. I will not forget how mesmerizing and unforgettable this film is in terms of not just action but filled with a compelling story with each character and John himself, too.. It's absolutely incredible. Happy 1st anniversary, John Wick: Chapter 4, my NEW favorite John Wick movie.
Personally I loved the tribute paid with the radio DJ, that’s stems right from the 1979 movie Warriors. Then you have the box of shotgun shells labeled dragons breathe going back to Keanu’s roll in Constantine when he was given dragons breath as a weapon, and of course you have Clancy brown playing the harbinger who says “in the end only one remains” an homage to his 1986 film highlander where he played the Kurgan. I absolutely loved these little throw backs subtly put in there
I think the best part of all movies is when Keanu says, "I'm going to need a gun." And no matter what, Morpheus or anybody is always smiling. So a wholesome moment.

Eh when it's the matrix multiverse man every movie is badass, everyone is super passionate about the project. I'm glad to be alive during this timeline to witness the best actors and actresses in movies. Can't forget about the writers though without them the actors could only do so much. Going to be a sad sad day when we lose these actors though. But at least we can enjoy their humbleness and character.

I find it amazing that the orange juice in my fridge had gone bad. We bought a such a high quality product, seems to be an extremely difficult task to go to the shops to complain / exchange for a new bottle of juice....maybe this can be Chapter 5....showing that John is free and does daily things and renews insurance policies and in general does laundry and cooking....I can't wait....
The best part of Keanu that I admire most, is no matter what he's asked about in an interview is that he tries to answer the question he's asked. Sincerely and with honesty. His job is being an actor, which is artistic in it's nature. Celebrity brings pressure along with the glitz that folks seem to see the most of, because we all like fairy tales. Keanu has used his name and good fortune to better the world, no matter what. His life has not been easy or was handed to him, by any means. Like the song written by Israel Houghton, "One"...... he's a good soul and is using his abilities on earth the best way anyone could. We all want to be happy, but, life doesn't owe us anything. Thank you, Keanu, for putting us in a better place and for making it known, we can learn to fly again after our wings were broken. Everyone loves a "winner", but they don't walk in your shoes everyday. Your heart beats like ours does, but, you walk your talk. You n I are not related, but you're my "brother". People need to learn, practice and then, DO. What a great teacher you are.

I love that every movie in this series has an iconic muscle car attached to it… the Chevelle, the Mustang, and now a Barracuda… it all just adds to the badassery of Wick’s character.

This might be a weird critique but I think what I love about this trailer the most is how well-lit all the scenes are. I’m tired of action movies/scenes being so dark and impossible to see. Being able to see every actor/stunt person in the scene makes the choreography and directing more impressive when you can actually see what’s happening.

Try watching the raid movies. The thing holding back the JW films is that the stunt men have to pull their punches a bit for Keanu. But in those movies all of them are trained martial artists, so they have much more brutal and exhilarating action scenes.
@@adityadas5820 Yes I agree, when those come out (The Raid movies) that was a game changer too, maybe more martial arts oriented, but great nonetheless. One of my favourite scenes actually is the "kitchen fight scene" in The Raid 2. Oh and "The night comes for us" was... wow!

Keanu Reeves has always been brilliant and mysterious in his films, which gives additional doses of suspense and integration to his work. A tribute to this brilliant and accomplished actor.

This is a prime example of the "show, don't tell" standard in filmmaking. 3 films in, and no lengthy, contrived exposition dumps. Just subtle, consistent, and meaningful worldbuilding, clinically precise and enticing dialogue, and nigh-perfect acting.
I disagree. The more story they put in the movies, the worse they became. There was too much of the silly assassin-hotel world stuff in the sequels to the first one. The actions scenes are great and I think they should keep the story to a minimum. The lore of the comic book world doesn't make the movies better. I just wanna see Keanu fuck shit up lol.

@lionsgate, I know you guys get thousands of comments and millions of emails but this is the greatest adventure I've ever seen in my life. the aerial camera scene at the end is the greatest thing I have ever seen in any movie. Every single movie in this series keeps getting better and improving upon the previous one, I have no idea how you guys are doing it but thank you so much for your work. I am in love with the 4th one. You outdid yourselves. Everything is so stellar I'm just at a loss of words and almost cried at points out of sheer amazement of your work. The first one was my favorite, then the second one, then the third one, and now this one. I don't even know how you keep on improving and finding unique takes on the series. I love your work. I also immensely love the blind guy starting in on the action at the beginning. It was so slick. This movie felt like something more than a movie and I've never said that in my life. I kept on watching the third one over and over while waiting for this one. I actually waited to watch this one because I was savoring the moment as odd as that sounds. Every single moment of acting was literal perfection as well. I'll be watching this one for quite a while. You guys put me in another world while watching and thank you and thank you for reading my comment.
It is WONDERFUL to see all the positive and supportive comments. There is zero hate for Keanu and this franchise. The excitement for another instalment is grassroots fandom at it's best. When actors, studio and general public all join together like this, movie magic is truly made.

The John Wick franchise is easily one of the greatest action series's ever to have blessed the screen. It's a triumph of story, stunt work, and is indeed Keanu Reeves' legacy.
And it's still unsullied by the woke narrative which makes it enduring and perpetual. Also explaining why it's so wildly popular.

I’ve actually done analysis on the color and what it means. Whenever villains or Wick are in blue, it means John’s in his element and will not struggle as much. When John’s in red or green, the villains will have an advantage and he’ll struggle. If the colors are mixed, then they’ll both struggle

Go play Payday 2! I think that game's lore is very similar to that of John Wick albeit a bit goofier. John Wick is a playable DLC character too, so I like to think that means the movies exist in the same canon universe as Payday 2 lol
