This song will always have a special place in my heart. It brings back a very specific memory in my life. About a year ago I caught feelings for a young toxic girl who just wanted to party and hook up with VIP guys who could give her access to a glamorous lifestyle. I took her to plenty of events and couldn’t see her toxic traits as I was blinded by her beauty and care free attitude.
On New Year’s Eve I was at my best friend’s house and had a 4am realisation that I had to cut her off and that I deserved much better. I literally remember this song was playing on my best friend’s CZcams and the last thing I said before he went to bed was “The thing is, she actually got the real me, I didn’t have to pretend to be somebody else to impress her…and she clearly couldn’t appreciate that so at least I can feel free to know that I was completely myself” and he said “Yeah, I know” and left me to have some alone time in the living room.
