Dan finally gets the fudge he has been asking for. A very easy recipe and just in time for Christmas. Try this and I'll bet you will, and your guests, will love it!
CHOCOLATE FUDGE 3 cups granulated sugar ¾ cup butter 2/3 cup evaporated milk, (one 5 oz can) 12 oz package semisweet chocolate chips 7-oz jar marshmallow cream 1 cup toasted, chopped walnuts or pecans 1 Tbsp. vanilla Butter a 13” x 9” baking pan. Combine sugar, butter, and milk in a heavy 2 ½ quart saucepan. Bring to a full boil, stirring constantly. Continue boiling for exactly five minutes over medium low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate until melted. Add marshmallow cream, nuts, and vanilla until well blended. Pour into the baking pan. Let cool, then refrigerate. NOTE: After fudge has set up a bit, but before it has completely cooled, I like to take a sharp knife and make about a ¼” or so score through the fudge where I want to cut it into pieces. This prevents the fudge from breaking up when the fudge is fully cooled and cut into pieces.
I have a microwave fudge I've always made that is so easy. When my husband was in the Navy the guys in his shop constantly asked when I would send more to work with him! I may try this one though, curious how the texture and taste will be.
Try finding Sophie some carob chips she will love them and they are safe for dogs and very similar to chocolate. Sprouts and the like carry them Natural, dairy free
