I was only born in 1989. But i remember Oldbury being much better in the mid-to-late 90s, which are my earliest memories of it. We still call the Sainsbury's Sava as well, as it use to be called SavaCentre.

At 21:12 you can see Co Op Funeral care on Birmingham Street, if visitors look on the pavement in front of it there's a cast iron manhole cover that has Air Raid Shelter embossed into it, a relic of WWIl, when Black Country factories were a target of the Luftwaffe

If you had noticed as you ventured around to the library by the bus stops you would have seen that the library is named Jack Judge House, named after John ( Jack ) Judge who was born in Oldbury in the then county of Worcestershie, details as follows :- "

    Nationality British
    Occupations

    Music-hall entertainer
    Known for Songwriting
Notable work "It's a Long Way to Tipperary"
John Judge (3 December 1872 - 25 July 1938) was an English songwriter and music-hall entertainer best remembered for writing the song "It's a Long Way to Tipperary". Judge originally wrote and sang the song in 1912, but the far more widely known John McCormack acquired greater name recognition with the song."

@@Outandaboutwithpoggy it sounds like you have a great set up, i doubt you will need much else, you have all bases covered. I use Imovie its a little limited but so far it meets all my needs. But i'm sure i will probably look into something else when I attempt to improve the video quality, but its still early days. Many thanks

That's when it went down hill, what I miss is loads of older people walking around, sorry but I despair in not seeing them anymore, also frightened the pubs will all shut down, and all the old shops that are no longer with us sad sad

A lot of heritage was lost with the demolition of buildings around Freeth Street and Low Town but there are still one or two buildings of note which are now grade 2 listed, thanks for your comment
