- The name Rusape is derived from a shona word “Rusapwe” which means never dries, with reference to the ever flowing waters of Rusape River, adjacent to the town. Rusape is a Town that is striving to reach municipal status. It is situated along the Harare - Mutare road and railway line. It is 180 km to Harare, 95km from Mutare, 102km from Nyanga and approximately 220 km from Chivhu. Rusape has a population of 31080 as per 2012 census and a land area of 1050 ha which lies in region 3. It is in the North-Eastern part of Manicaland Province in Makoni District.

Rusape is surprisingly beautiful, aaah i didnt expect such a developed community. the economy in rusape looks good too, better than most mining towns
It's a neat and attractive little town that can easily become a small safe retirement town plus it looks cost-effective to renovate.

This a good town for the diaspora to buy retirement homes, it just needs an upgraded hospital, fire station, bus station..etc, maybe it's the number 2 small town in Zim.

Rusape has really expanded to be a big beautiful town. I remember bus drivers used to take a little break whenever they got in Rusape fo us passengers to use bathroom n buying snacks. Fond memories

Remember getting paid our small cheques at Makoni Rural Council, Rusape 🇿🇼 from which we would purchase a few groceries in local Indian Supermarkets to cash our cheques …then we would drown our sorrows at Balfour Hotel bars before herding back to our school in the sticks at Chiendambuya where we were on practice as student teachers from Mutare Teachers College 😜!_

My home town lovely and humble people. Another thing about Rusape is there is always fresh products from the farmers nearby and water mostly is available unlike some big cities where water only came once in a while.Lived there before, probably will came back once I retire nice and peaceful.

Was known as the big little town! Just needs a good restaurant and a reduction in the number of flea markets to make a great little town!
Thus my hometown,my friend Sonboy Donono still lives there, I'm from the village of Tanda.
Everything Harare is the problem hence the disorderly there. The Capital should be moved far away from that place and we start afresh, not MT Hampden.
I think decentralising some of public services in city and will help have more regional focused things will help
