That DI is an amazing multi tasker, able to smoke those recruits while getting everyone else ready for the morning

Ah yes the incentive training. Triceps and chest spasms. Blinded by sweat and tears. It didn't matter if you did it right or wrong you was doing it. that's for dam sure

Even though it was 34 years ago, I remember those days like it was just yesterday. Everything a drill instructor did was done to instill discipline, confidence, and strength into the recruits. People who see it as brainwashing have no idea what they are talking about, and it is still as effective today as it was when I was in boot camp.

15 years later and hearing "Pain" "Discipline" still gets my blood pressure up.

Ladies and Gentleman that is what is called "getting smoked". They were hoping like hell the SDI would come save them. LOL

This gives me chills. I still can't believe I went through this for 3 months and became a Marine. Almost 20 years ago. A lot of these kids are like what in the world did I get myself into?!

This DI has expressed great skill in multitasking and ensuring that recruits were instructed in a timely fashion. I didn't see it back then as a recruit for obvious reasons, but now I can see the level of considerations that DI's take in ensuring that IT is effective yet keeping in mind of potential injury. observe at 4.08, the recruits are nearing the point of exhaustion and the majority resort to using their knees for support. The DI makes a proper decision to switch them to their backs. I don't know how it was for you guys, but when I was being IT'ed, crunches were godsend. Ultimately, for the few of you who think DI's are a bunch of screaming muscle heads only seeking to cause your life to be a living hell (partially they are) , think objectively and consider that there is more to it than what you just initially see. There is so much more to the intent.

I'm amused at the D.I's ability to multitask. Smoking recruits and commanding the other recruits.

Uhmmmmm no Marine that's Sgt Stevenson! He was a 3rdHat of third deck follow series for Kilo Company. I know this cause I was his Chief Drill Instructor. He was a Damn good Hat who could control the deck and IT recruits. That's how Killer Kilo gets down!

You guys have to realize.. this is probably one of 20 times they do this in a day. On top of a long day.. being sore... having done company PT in the morning or afternoon.. just repetitively everyday. This shit sucked no matter how well or physically fit you were. It was done for a reason.. to teach you a lesson of not to fuck up again for whatever you did wrong.
