Ive never been a massive bmw fan, only because ive grown around skylines, silvias and other jdm styled cars.
But its your love for it that has me coming back. You show your care to what you do and your excitement mixed with an amazing effort to want to help others learn and push forward. Big time follower, and will continue, on any car you do. Keep it up homie!

I love all the builds but the e36 has a special place in my heart. I’ve owned mine since new… a ‘96 model that survived being a dd and track car. Still runs like it did 26 years ago. Maintenance is key…

I definitely resonate with the sentiment for your first ever project car. My e39 was the first car I ever dove into modifying and I'm coming up on 11 years of ownership. After 7 years of gathering dust I finally got the time (and funds) to bring it back to life with a full m5 interior swap and all the other usual e39 mods. More e36 content!!

I really like that you used a time-sert to repair those shock bolt threads. I was a motorcycle tech for 25 years and that was my go to thread repair. One thing i liked to do was use a lubricant on the install tool and loctite (red) on the outside of the insert just to insure that the insert stays put if the threads corrode a bit. I dig all your builds and can't wait to see how they all turn out.

I love following this build and details that you have shared with all the E36 community. An alternative "low cost" Brembo upgrade, would be to install front Brembos from Renault Megane RS (a rebuild & painted set can come in at 350-400$, from Europe ofc). They fit the "cheaper" 325x28 brake rotors from an E46 M3 and even the lower spec 325x25 from 330i. Where as the rear can be upgraded again from an E46 330i, with 320x20 rear rotors and adapters for handbrake functionality. Slap in an M3 3.0 (EURO) master cylinder with a M12/M10 adapter for better brake feel.

@@danielwade9930 I did not. I used the factory components. I upgraded to stainless brake lines, Porsche brembo calipers, new brake pads, and competition package m3 rotors. You will need the caliper brackets for mounting. I sourced mine from a forum member on the old m3forum.

It looks great Mike. I have the same 911 calipers on my e36 painted in Miami blue, but I’m using the Brembo branded calipers (not budget friendly). Thanks for making this video, I didn’t realize there were more economical rotor options. However, thankfully I get a lot of track use out of the rotors, so the cost doesn’t come up often.

pretty nice choice, i too installed a big brake kit on my ford focus, but i made the braket as there is no adaptar on the market for the focus mk1; great video Mike, keep up the good content
edit: i forgot to mention, i used cadillac cts-v callipers for my focus mk1, as well as we've done macan calipers for the mk1 golf, only hard thing is cnc machining the adapter but usually there will walways be bigger rotors for almost all lug patterns taken from other cars, the focus mk1 took the rotors from the '94 mustang gt
