As a somewhat new fan of NIN - this gig was intense. Of course I didn’t know a lot of the songs because I’ve really only heard the first few albums and then the hits after that, but starting with my favourite song and the most intense light show ever made this so memorable. I really gotta explore some of these deeper (for me at least) cuts!
Same my favourite is downward spiral, enjoy pretty hate machine too so I was a little sad they only played 2 songs from my favourite but the show was perfect still. Something I can never have was beautiful
Welcome to an incredible journey - NIN have an awesomely varied back catalogue - but, more excitingly - and whole load of rarities and 'hidden' tracks that you'll still be discovering years later....
What Lazareth said is true, you could listen to this band for years and still discover new stuff! I hope you enjoy your journey and if you don't know about it, I recommend reading up on the narrative/ARG behind year zero. It's absolutely amazing and there are some really interesting videos on it too
Amazing show. Couldn't get over how lacklustre the crowd was though - not much dancing but a LOT of arms up recording it all on phones. I boogied (respectfully) the entire show. NIN are legitimately one of the best live bands ever to do it.
Mate you do gigs your way and I’ll do them my way. Being 51 and a NIN addict since 1989 I’m too fucked up to act like a teenager. But I’ll not chat about you as being lacklustre. Just spending too much time moshing and not experiencing the gig itself. And you’ll be an old fogey one day. Lacklustre!
@@jamisbillson4872 heh. I'm 33 and chronically ill so wasn't moshing myself. I've been in enough crowds that its really noticeable the few times an entire crowd has been lacklustre. NIN gave us so much sonic and sensory energy, i think its ok to wish the crowd was dancing more. My comment wasn't aimed at you directly! ✌️
@@naomimac4983 we’re cool Naomi. Both massive NIN fans so you’re already better than the average bear boo boo. But I saw them for the fifth time at the Southbank in 2018. Staggering but very bright lights. That’s me getting lacklustre!! Kidding!
@@lewisbirkett4428 you could’ve gone downstairs once it was started. You slip though unnoticed. For the Pixies gig. Downstairs was uncomfortably overcrowded
I gave up on trains for Manchester gigs, getting there, trying to get back. You’ll be lucky if you can get a train home… lote cancelled, too many people waiting to get on, etc. I think the last time we managed to get a train home was when Roots Manuva completely f**ked his gig at the Ritz. Luckily Chali 2na blew the place apart as the support act which made it worth it. Was so hyped for Roots though, poor guy had some demons he was dealing with :(
I’ve seen NIN 10 times now since the 90s & I don’t know…..the Eden Project shows got The Perfect Drug, Fashion & Love Is Not Enough on their set lists. I was at Glasgow & last nights show & I felt Glasgow had the edge; probably because the Glasgow Academy it’s fairly intimate as a venue. It’s nice to see them not be tied down to a set list due to the the projection / lighting show.
@@davidanderson1639 I've missed every chance to see them over the last 20 years, so was super hyped for last night. As much as I enjoyed it, if they'd just bust out some stuff like March Of The Pigs or Perfect Drug or I'm Afraid Of Americans then it would have been a total 10/10 show. Feel a bit blue-balled tbh!
Lightshow was amazing though and I still had a really good time, but after waiting such a long time to see em, it would have been nice to hear a few more hits
@@tink06tinker 100% agree with you there; there was just something missing from last nights show. Yes, NIN are always super tight & incredible to watch & yes the more free flowing sets are really fun, but it just lacked that ‘WOW’ factor. I get the need to drop songs from sets lists; like during the Wave Goodbye era when Closer was dropped from most…if not all set lists. But I’d have glad not heard The Frail / The Wretched in order to have The Perfect Drug, or March of The Pigs.
Hi Ratino, great footage, I'm putting together a multicam of the Manchester NIN gig, would you be ok if I use your recording for clips and credit you? cheers
-sounded good where we were way up at the back of the balcony. But I’ve seen Marilyn Manson play this same venue but I was downstairs and it sounded shit. MM ddin’t really seem into It. At the start of the showi he said `”this is the last show of the tour and we’ll play as long as we want”. I thought this meant it was gonna be a long set… it wasn’t. NIN shown and sound were excellent
With the lightshow, it was difficult to see what’s happening on stage a lot of the the time. That poor guy at the start got some flack but I think the people jumping up and just rocking out throughout the show added to the video. It’s really one to listen to rather than watch though. I’ve registered to this show countless times. I love it!
Why isn’t EVERYONE standing? Did I miss something? It’s a NIN concert. I get why they were mad at the dude for standing but why weren’t they ALL standing?
I was ok with the people standing, especially when they’d explode from their seat at high points and start going crazy There’s a funny comment on here somewhere with a time stamp about Weird Al 😄

That girl with her hair up in a bun- she keeps standing and blocking Trent so she can make videos of the audience behind her. Very rude. Don’t be her. Don’t be phone hair bun girl.
If I had been at this show…. And that woman with the bun in her hair was doing this to me…. And I was the person filming this - or someone around her. I would be such a Karen. I would have so much complaining to do- the show is amazing - she is selfishly ruining the performance for a lot of people. Don’t be her.
I didn’t mind her tbh, she looked like she was having fun. I was also heavily sedated so really just sitting back enjoying the view I had while checking in on my phone screen every once in a while to make sure I was still getting what could be seen of the stage. Was funny when everyone was telling the first guy that stood up to “sit down knob’ed” though 😂

This might have been the best gig I’ve ever been to
I've loved them for over 20 years yet never gotten to see them until this gig and I fully agree with you!
I’m not surprised. I’ve only seen NIN twice, but they were the best live musical experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of having.
It’s definitely up there as one of the best I’ve been to and I’ve seen a lot of bands over the years

Let the person stand if they want to. I would stand the whole time. It's Nine Inch Nails. The greatest band of all time.

The girl with the flag is holding it upside down. I'm sure she doesn't even know what country's flag she's waving =)
