- 42 minute MTV2 TV special promoting Nine Inch Nails' 2002 live release "And All That Could Have Been." The special was directed, conceptualized, and executed by Trent Reznor, Rob Sheridan, and Jeff Anderson. It contains footage from the "And All That Could Have Been" DVD release, as well as acoustic performances, and interviews. The segments are connected by interstitials filmed by Trent, Rob, and Jeff in New Orleans, with interview footage filmed specifically for this production. I always loved how everything around the music mattered with Nine Inch Nails. Album covers, stage design, music videos, they all feel connected in a logical way. I love The Fragile era so much. Anyway, thanks for uploading this!
The fragile is quite the apotheosis, although I thoroughly enjoy everything Trent/NIN does
Yes! Hit the nail on the head…best artists with the biggest legacy always seems to create an entire “universe” so to speak around their art, and Trent did that in droves for each era
Thanks to Rob Sheridan who began working on the visuals album art and videos around this time I believe
I agree down to the tiniest details. I've seen nin on just about every tour since 1995 with David Bowie including HTDA and the Fragility tour was easily my favorite. Even some of the Les Pauls they used on stage were beautifully painted in Fragile artwork themes.
The music,the engineering, the design... The message. Everything has its place, its purpose. One of the greatest media crafters of our modern era.
This era of NIN has always stuck with me the most. There's something about the art direction that feels so ethereal, so otherworldly and unable to be described. It feels like the X-Files intro through the lens of frosted glass and a faint fog. It's almost midnight so I can't properly articulate my thoughts, but I'm thankful that you put this up, Rob. Means a lot, truly, it does.
My favourite thing about NIN was always that absolutely everything mattered in creating an aesthetic. Somehow the live show, the website, the DVDs, the remix albums, the artwork and everything complemented each studio release and the back catalogue.
Trent is the epitome of obsessive. He’s a genius.
This is an incredible set. I always admired that Trent would go out of his way to get a whole band together to perform his mostly electronic work in live rock-band style.
i highly doubt it, he seems stuck on Ilan,Atticus, and Alessandro
The fragile by his own is a masterpiece
I actually like it better than the Downward Spiral...like there are tracks on Spiral I'll skip but the fragile I'll make sure Ill listen to the whole song just so the transition between songs hits harder. Been playing through the Quake Remaster the last few days and you can start to see where Trent started to get into making scores with atmosphere and setting a mood that carried over into the fragile then later carried over into the movie scores.
Cheers for uploading this Rob, I think I covered 46 shows of the Fragility tour dates in the US, Europe and in Australia, back when I was a music journalist/photographer, to this day, this tour has been my all time favorite, it was one crazy, awesome 9 months, I doubt anything could replace it... and I hope it never does!

The Fragile and And all that could have been were such an important part of my formative years. I think I watched this dvd every night for at least two weeks straight when I first got it. So many things, people and places from that time of my life is gone, barely memories even. So seeing this brought some of it back. Thank you! Hope you’re proud of your work.

Man that transition from Gave Up to La Mer gets me every time. The part where the “light screens” suddenly turn from warm to cool colors and the show very subtle ripples is so *so* good. Transcendent stuff right there.

I remember the weekend with NIN programming for MTV2, where this special debuted. I had shitty satellite television back then, and it rained it's ass off the whole time this special debuted and I was never able to watch it (pre-DVR days). I was so fucking bummed. Had it all set up to tape and everything...

I didnt think The Downward Spiral was ever going to be topped back then but The Fragile and all the other albums Trent did around this time blew me away.
The trilogy of Pretty Hate Machine, The Downward Spiral and The Fragile were the peak of his work. In my opinion they are all very close to being the best but I think pretty hate machine is his best work musically while the downward spiral in atmosphere and story telling is better. I like pretty hate machine the most although most of my life I've empathized with the downward spiral more. Fixed is up there in his top 5 and so is hesitation marks. His other work is always good but can feel too similar to everything post the fragile.
MAn... I was looking for this for years, I remember seeing it in 2003 in Telehit (mexican music channel) I was dealing with migraine so I took some meds that made me trip watching this.

i had this recorded on a VHS tape which I still have. i'm hoping that in the future. NIN do a series of blu-ray releases for "closure" and "and all that could have been" but with new extras and documentaries about those periods in NIN's history with new interviews from the band members.

Im so glad I found your channel Rob. What a legacy of amazing music and art content ever made! As a HS student in the Graduating class of 1994, I miss EVERYTHING from this era of our lives. Things were so fresh and exciting back then. They still are but mainly lots of moving on and settling down. I love to go down memory lane. It so comforting knowing were still fans all these years. Best show Ive ever been to was this tour, and I had been to some before, and probably 20 shows since, but things got very perfected with this tour. Perfect!
I saw them on the with teeth tour, fucking badass, as Josh was back on drums and twiggy*Jordy white* from Manson was filling in on bass, one of the best shows I've ever seen, will be seeing them in Daytona this November, extremely excited and plan on not being anything but focused and enthralled by then this time around, I've been really anticipating seeing them again since 05'
NIN live is amazing, that the only thing I can come up with. Different show every time I seen them and never been disappointed. Rob amazing job!!!

I always remember getting NIN The Fragile album for Christmas. That was my first NIN purchase and still my favourite album from the band. Loving this footage!
The greatest convergence of elements…this circus set the bar which hasn’t moved since.

This is better than most movies out today.. NINE INCH NAILS on blu-ray feels so live sometimes sounding better than the original track.. FRAGILE is the best album to watch live
The DVD in 5.1 Dolby digital sound is phenomenal.
Remember I taped this off MTV when it came on lol....about a year later I got a DVD player and the fragility DVD .....but the interview parts and the “still performances bring back memories
I think this is my favorite line up, even if the last one is quite efficient.
Gonna be honest, I love the current lineup, but I do miss Danny Lohner. He just brings so much energy to the live shows.

I remember listening to the Fragile and wearing the Fragile band shirts when I went to my graphic arts classes in college back in 99-00 those were good days 😢 the Fragile seems like the most ambitious NIN album out of them all. I even had the Fragile poster in my room aswell, sorry for wasting your time with this shit 😅
