There's something very unnatural, evil, and scary about that toothy grin at the end. It's like a Goosebumps book cover. This was almost like The Visit.
Seeing it go from smile to frowning as she got the call from her mom made me turn the video off.

This deserves way more likes. I legitimately felt so disturbed and the false Mama Agnes suddenly appearing in front of her gave me full body chills. Amazing short film

The fact that she is just standing there, staring back at the daughter with a cold stare, no music, just this, sends a gigantic bitch slap right down my spine till the final close up. And for that, I applaud your work.

1:13 What makes this part so chilling to me is, looking at the layout of the kitchen, I think its safe to assume there's only 1 way in and 1 way out, (the door she's standing in) so with that, that thing knows the little girl is fucked and that she cant escape. Even if she tried going through the window, she would never have enough time to open it and jump out before it would reach her, and its just smiling like it knows all of that too makes it even more chilling... and then at 1:21 she smiles when the girl calls her mom, like "haha it worked, she thinks im her mom"

The haunting thing about this movie is that it doesn't release the tension in any way (particularly with a daft jumpscsre or something). It just leaves everything up for interpretation.
Which is what I prefer. Sick and tired of the overused cheap jumpscares for heart attacks.
One of my biggest childhood fears was always that my parents would somehow "change" or turn into something weird (a zombie etc.). So this really hit the note.

The ambient background noises, the broad daylight and the lack of scary music or jumpscare sounds makes this eerily immersive. This is a million times more scary than anything Hollywood spat out.

These clips being short is what makes them interesting. Build ups and extra stories usually makes the movie horrible. Most of the time horror movies aren't any good until the climax.
Yeah no thanks. Then we'd get the lame unoriginal backstory of the demon or whatever the fuck it is followed by a boring showdown with lots of windows exploding.

I’ve been watching horror films from all over the world for 34 years and this short film is one of the scariest thing I’ve ever seen; the whole situation is disturbing, that face at the end is what nightmares are made off. I love the fact is done on daytime instead nighttime, excellent work guys looking forward for more PS I would strongly suggest you to develop this story into a full length film 👍🏾

i cannot explain how much i loved it. it's SO GOOD. managing to tell a scary story with so limited resources, during daytime, with a simple situation, and building the tension without unleashing it with a jumpscare, and also not showing what happened after. 10/10

this needs more views! i keep coming back to this video. i’ve binge watched probably a majority of horror short films on youtube and this one gets me. the blank expressions, the unnatural speech… and that look on the doppelgängers face at the end is all just *chef’s kiss* pure nightmare fuel. made my skin crawl! great acting by both actresses.

I am one of those people. The first time I watched this I was almost disappointed with that final shot of Agnes; it looked like some cheap animation that didn't fit the rest of the video. Thankfully this showed up again in my feed and I've since sorted my brightness setting out 😅was able to actually see her this time and fully appreciate how well this was done. Fantastic work! My favourite type of horror

I watched it on my break at work on the night shift. Scared the crap out of me. I literally kept looking behind me and at door entrances because I was so creeper out, and I worked on the Lowe level alone so you can imagine.
Only a couple of minutes yet such tense and creepy atmosphere - during the day and in a normal environment. Good work!

Doppelgangers always instil a primal kind of fear. Seeing that something appears human and at the same time reasoning that it isn't is a terrible feeling.
This feels like a cross between the movies Smile and Us. Great work.

My deepest respect for:
- getting super creepy vibes in bright daylight
- not using any (!) jumpscares
- having the most charming AND the most frightening actress (Samara Ijezie) I've seen in a long, long time
- succeeding in having an everyday situation going to hell within two and a half minutes (it takes Stephen Kind roundabout 800pages to achieve the same ;) )
- not using any (!) jumpscares (can't praise this enough)
Tiny nitpick (so tiny you'd need a microscope to really care) would be to use a slightly tilted cam angle for the final reveal... just to add more to the creep factor.
I really felt extremely uncomfortable watching this, so well done i had chills the whole time.

THIS. This was great! I loved this! I especially loved the genuine rise in tension. You didn't need cheesy horror music, or in-your-face jump scares (even tho I did jump when Mama Agnes was just standing in front of the protagonist). Just uncomfortable silence, allowing both the audience and the character to take in everything that's happening.
This needs to become a full feature movie

This was recommended to me for some reason. After watching this, I got chills down my spine.
I suffer from VSS (visual snow syndrome) and the way I see every second of my life is like at 0:01. Unfortunately this disorder is not very well known, even until a few years ago some doctors denied its existence. And at the moment there are no useful cures or treatments. Nothing, I just wanted to vent. It came to my mind watching this excellent short.

is a little bit different..I KNOW that I see bright spots since talking about them randomly with people I realized that I was the only one who saw them, even though it was normal for me as a child. Now that I am aware of it, it bothers me a lot and I will have to have a neurological examination soon. In the video these bright dots are extreme compared to how I see them, but it is very close to what I see. I understand that there are dots in the video because I see the difference in the bright dots between the white CZcams page and those present in the video. The ones I see are smaller like pins and flash a little more. I don't know if I explained myself well but it's difficult to answer your question. I can see them even if I close my eyes. It's like trying to explain what red is to a color blind person.

That lighting (or lack thereof) on her face at the end…magnificent. Reminds me of the Cheshire Cat from Alice In Wonderland (one of the scariest things from my childhood that still gives me the creeps). I love how you’re forced to just sit there and examine the contrast between the depths of her skin and the brightness of her eyes and teeth. Terrifying without having to do much, all the fear’s in my head. Just the way horror should be.
It seems like the girl may be having a nightmare. She doesn’t like to be left alone by herself. Her fear of being alone was her mom in the dream. The windows not being able to open was weird as well and the smell. She seemed so confused about the smell and the windows not opening very abnormal. That’s just my interpretation.
