Ultra instinct was foreshadowed in episode 5 when Goku's body moved on its own to avoid a blow from Beerus.

1:47 and 14:27 are my favorite roars from Goku along with one in ep 122. He sounds so demonic and powerful
when vegeta gave his speech and goku roared to keep jiren away, that was the best one

Goku without UI wouldn't have been destroyed... He was just kicked out of SSB Kaioken x2 because he didn't have the stamina to hold it, with basic math even a SSB Kaioken x4 would be enough to put SSJ2 Kefla down.

There's no way Kaioken x20 wouldn't have ended her. Maybe her last lazer attack would have beaten it but that's about it.
This version of UI is a transformation, Goku adapted this technique as transformation, thats why he is so fast and thats why it consumes alot of stamina.
the end part isnt true it consumes alot of stamina because its a limitbreaker form not something he is suppose to have at the moment
@@Flaxme ui is like kioken or super sayin 3. it gives him a huge boost but burns threw his stanima and energy. so the form cant be held. its why vegeta skips those forms he deemed the peneltys to great to ever learn them.
Thing is UI isn't supposed to be a form but a base with goku able to use other forms, such as Blue, alongside it.

@@gogereaver349 thats not really true in the manga, once goku mastered it the toll is not as big as it was during the tournament. The reason why it drained so much stamina in the tournament ist because it is a limit breaking move which makes goku surpass himself unnaturally. Once he got there naturally the toll is not as great as it was before

This episode had one of my favorite UI roars. That first one just sends chills down the spine. The Oozaru road combined with Goku's voice really emphasizes the power of Ultra Instinct. One thing that I've always loved about Dragon Ball has been the yells and roars. This one will always be a special moment. 1:40
"Goku can read?" Best line of the day goes to AImin. Kefla's face after a great stunt and an awesome Kamehameha about to be unleashed is when she knew she is screwed. I would have to agree best Kamehameha in Dragonball. Goku's roar is something else.

Toriyama is such a genius. To arguably outdo Super Saiyan with this form is unthinkable and unbelievable.
UI really is a technique and Whis told Goku that he can also use it with other forms like SSJ or SSJ Blue
The concept itself makes sense. In fighting you obviously think, try to set up hits or make openings, throw fakes, etc. But in certain moments when you don't have time for that, your body does its thing on its own reflexively. Easy example is when you're doing something and something close to you like your phone falls, and you instinctively catch it. You didn't plan that out, your body did it on its own because it's important, and sometimes only after already catching it do you realize that you caught it, it's faster than our thinking. In lame man's terms.
Indeed. It's why in Martial Arts, you practice, practice, practice. You don't take a stance, throw a punch. And boom, you're done. No, you throw that punch 100 times a day, every day, till you get to the point that, even without thinking, you throw that punch. And if something happens where you're shocked, surprised, hurt, or anything else, your body instinctively throws that punch.
Of course a Punch alone isn't enough, each fighting style have combos, dodges, blocks, deflections. You train your body, to react on instinct without thought, going through the motions till you can do them perfectly while half asleep. That's where the flow states come from. When you do things so instinctively, that like a Doctor hitting your knee and instinctively you kick in reflex, you react faster than your opponent and hopefully won.

Its a concept that are real in martial arts its called Mushin No Shin ( not sure of the spelling) but it ranslates to "no mind". its a state you achive when you trained for many years. You dont need ur brain to react youre body react at it self. Example an imcoming punch, youre body already know how to deal whit it no need for brain to help out.

To put ultra instinct into a real life situation, we can look at the art of jazz improvisation. This is the perfect example because the music keeps moving. If the soloist wants to make a memorable solo, they will have to know the chords, changegs and the main melody they will improvise off of. This is why a lot of jazz musicians say "Don't think, just play". It doesn't mean to play random stuff; what it means is let the music be your guide and listen thoroughly. In martial arts, you don't know what attacks will come, but you must know every opponent is different. As Whis said, messages from our brain can only travel so fast, and thinking takes precious time.

The reason why the sub version of Goku isn't quite as intense is because the sub version of Goku is voiced by an elderly japanese woman, she does an amazing job as Goku but unfortunately due to her age she can't exactly reach the same pitch as the english va, but still they're both incredible voice actors and play Goku perfectly

The foreshadowing of UI goes back further than even training with Whis.
The moment Beerus first expresses interest in Goku is when Goku charges in to attack him in Super Saiyan 3 and his body instinctively falls back right before Beerus was going to attack.
Whether it was actually planned at the time or if Toriyama just saw something he could build on when looking back is debatable, but either way its a pretty clever writing move.

@@Xeno574ui was foreshadowed for ages, it's not a stretch to say that the idea of goku dodging without thinking was something they were planning even back then, especially since that didn't happen in battle of gods which means they intentionally went in and added it for super. toriyama gave them an outline for everything so they knew it would happen at the end, so why not plant the seeds in the beginning?

Ultra Instinct is base off a real life martial arts training where you basically practice one movement or technique so much that your bony moves on it’s own just like muscle memory
