Best reaction to an early birthday present ever🤠🤠🤯. Opening it straight away was implied in the phrase "early birthday present" no one can wait to open present,
The Walkers crisps I only sent you 4 flavours there are 7 more in the basic range that I will send as and when I can, walkers also do other ranges of savoury snacks.
The Devon custard is to go with the chocolate/syrup sponge puddings, pudding is a catch all term that means anything that you have for dessert.
Loved that the first person you wanted to share with was your mum. 💞

I'm so glad you were not physically hurt Marie. It takes time to recover mentally from an accident. It's can be a very scary experience. Please allow yourself some time to decompress and feel better about it. It's always good to remind ourselves how far a vehicle travels in one second. At 45 mile per hour, a car will move 66 feet. Distractions create the biggest crash risk. Driving on wet roads require our undivided attention and driving with more caution. Hydroplaning can happen abruptly when we drive over a puddle of water on the road but it can also occur if we are driving too fast for the amount of water on the road. Overcorrecting a steering wheel is also a common mistake we can do when we turn the steering wheel quickly and too far the opposite direction. The important thing is that we learn from our mistakes. Please be safe.
You sound like my daughter when she had a car accident. Glad that you are safe and well. As I told my daughter, car can be replaced. You can't. Don't blame yourself ever. Things happen. God be with you angel eyes. Keep smiling

THANK YOU TONY!!! Your incredibly thoughtful gift couldn't have arrived at a better moment. Marie observed that terrible things can happen in the blink of an eye...but in the next blink she received notification of your package! Christmas morning came early for all of us!!
You should have 'Snack Tasting Party' with 2 or 3 of your friends, and make a video of it. You can maybe do song reactions while you taste the various snacks.
And remember, you have family and friends here, if you ever need someone to talk to. So glad you weren't hurt. 😘
As Bert was saying, What happened we call hydroplaning, although I love your aquaplaning ( it explains is easily) . there are many factors in this that you don't have to worry about. You have had a very traumatic experience just then, it will take you some time to recover from this. Don't be afraid if when you get your new car you have some trepidation when you first get behind the wheel. I'm very happy to see you have the courage to face these fears you have been going through and hope that you keep them up. As you have very little driving experiences I would suggest you take some additional driving courses that place emphasis on these kind of road conditions ( rain and snow). That you give more confidence and help reduce your fears. Know that we love you and care for your well-being. I'm glad to hear that your boyfriend is well and supports you in not blaming you for the accident.
The cowboy hat with the two braids is a very Cowgirl look. When riding - especially rodeo - you have to keep your hair under control. Love this video! Such exuberance 🤠

This time of the year is busy for me, I have 500 acres to harvest and maintain, but I want to send you a package from Kentucky with homemade molasses. Sugarcane is a late harvest, but I'll send you some jars and you can make gingerbread and molasses cookies 😁

I was reading the US postal restrictions and noticed I will have to be careful - major customs restrictions for us on food and liquids. Good luck with your harvest. Aaah, the restrictions! I didn't think of that! Yep, sugarcane is grown in Kentucky, theres even the Sorghum festival in Magoffin County, I believe. I'm have to look at the restrictions, but I'll send her something from Kentucky. Maybe our flag 😊

it was great seeing your reaction and that you were so grateful. I think most young people in the USA would be like "great" with no true appreciation. That must have been so scary and upsetting. Sometimes the emotional aftermath can be worse than the physical injuries from an accident. You have a very sweet soul, and a true appreciation of the little things and moments in life.
That was an uplifting video and made me happy for you. Thanks for sharing. One thing I always warn young people is about hydro planning. If your car is going faster than 60mpg it is actually floating on a thin layer of water and you have no control.
Took me awhile to figure out what you talking about your “meek”, finally realized you were discussing the microphone for the camera. Not your fault, but rather mine, but funny! So enjoyable to watch your reactions to the gifts you receive. That kind of appreciation and joy can not be faked. Don’t beat yourself up over the accident, we’ve all had them, just focus on the fact that no one was hurt.

It took me a second too! haha Frenchie, not sure about the rest of the English speaking world, but in USA that 'mic' is pronounced with a long 'i' so more like the name 'Mike.' Also noticed about 25 minutes in that you still had the white band on the cowboy hat and the hook tag to hang it up. haha Pony tails and checkered pattern are very 'cowgirl' ish.

Marie I am sorry to hear of your accident. Be thankful that you weren't physically injured. I was in a bad motorcycle accident in August and was badly injured. I will never be the same person I was. I Subscribed. I'm a truck driver I drive an 5 axle 75 foot (2286 cm) long 18 wheeler. I love your accent. I live out here in Northern California USA, fires and the pandemic lucky me. In your accident you didn't hydroplane. When you go off the road you have to ease it back on if you can otherwise ride it out. You over compensated and lost control easy to do. Just remember turn into a skid. If the back end is sliding left turn to the left when it straightens out get back into the lane. In the rain the water acts as a lubricant and it takes 10 times the distance to stop. If you do start hydroplaning just let off the accelerator and the tires will soon grip and you will have control back. Never slam on the brakes especially in the rain. I could tell you how to brake but it's kind of complicated. Just google stab braking. It's best to slow down in the rain and be more alert. I've driven well over a million miles (1,609,344 km) no major accidents just a few fender benders. You will get better with experience. More Please.

In America, a few years back, they started making quarters for each state. Every few months they put out a new state. I assume they sent you a Texas quarter because they were from Texas.

Accidents happen. The thing to remember is THINGS can be replaced. You and your boyfriend can not. That said they are still a scary thing to experience. I'm not surprised in the least that you've had some issues. Taking time, for yourself, as you did and talking it out with those you are close with is the best you can do. The feelings will pass in time. You are correct it can change in an instant. That's why it's so important to tell yourself and your loved ones how you feel. Today is a present, tomorrow isn't here yet. So glad you are doing better. Enjoy your gifts! Keep up the great channel!

Aquaplaning is easy to control. DON'T PANIC!.
1: Take your foot off the accelator.
2: DO NOT TOUCH THE BRAKES.
3: Point your car where you want it to go (see racing cars where the steering wheel has a line on it to show where the front wheels are pointing)
4: When you regain control, pull over and take a few deep breaths. Then carry on,

Hydroplaning and similar sliding accidents are scary. The road doesn’t even have to be wet. If it had recently rained with leave son the ground, the acid in the leaves can make the road slippery. This is true regardless if the road is wet and/or the leaves are there or not. I’ve narrowly avoided a few slipping accidents caused by leaf acid. I’ve lost control on snow that had blown into the road and froze again. It’s so scary.
That box is basically a giant care package but better. A care package is usually sent by a lot of parents to their children at university. It’s usually not as big but has some snacks, maybe clothes, cleaning supplies, etc. since college is expensive and students are usually low on money

You say French is a hard language to learn. I would like to tell you the difficulties of an English-speaker who worked in French-speaking Europe for over 6 years but so as not to make this comment too long, I'll leave that until a future video.

I was sad to hear of your accident, but I am glad that your okay and I really enjoyed seeing the sheer joy on your face in getting things in the physical so-called "snail mail"; it is something that email will never replace. I'm a little belated here, but everyone below seems to have addressed whatever else I would have said to help your English, which is far better than most people's French here....(if they have even studied a foreign language) in this "international, global economy."
I'm so happy you were not hurt darlin. I've had meny such things happen to myself and honestly the best thing you can do is research and find a racing or stunt driving school or class even if it's just a one day class go and it will take you so far out of your comfort zone but when you get back behind the wheel you will feel more confident trust me and you will have so much fun. Hydroplaning - what happens when the tires go over the surface of a wet road, especially if the tires do not have sufficient tread to channel the water allowing better contact with the road's surface and/or the rain has raised any oily content on the road's surface. Sort of what happens when you hit an ice patch. It's very easy to lose control in a moment of panic like that. Even if you were not distracted it can happen - it's happened to me before. Please, give yourself a break and stop feeling broken.

Please try to not beat yourself up about something like that. I was in basically the same situation in my car accident. I was so mad at myself I didn’t want to leave the house, I didn’t even want to leave my room. Once my family and friends helped me out of that mental state, I was feeling a lot better. My wife and I visit France/Belgium every year and, for me, the highlights are not the touristy things but to visit the shops and see things we don't have in the UK.

Marie, please don't blame yourself because when a car hydroplanes as yours did, this means your car's tires went up on top of the water on the road and there was absolutely NOTHING you could have done about it. The same thing happened to me a few years back when traveling on Hwy 71 from Texarkana, AR to Shreveport, LA. I was going around the very slightest of curves in the road and suddenly I lost control of the car (which was less than a year old). A car with a family was coming directly at me, I thought we would crash head on but somehow we didn't and I ended up in a ditch like you. Know that there was nothing you did wrong. Things like that happen every now and then. Take care....pfa

As awful as the accident was, you did avoid hitting the other car and that could have been a more serious accident. You did your best under difficult driving conditions.

Aquaplaning (it's aquaplaning in the UK) was not due to your 'moment of inattention' it is where the tyres cannot remove all the water from the road surface and then literally float on a layer of water.
With more driving experience, you will know to relax and wait for the car to 'come back to you' rather than steering to try and correct it - but it is scary.
To prevent it, keep your tyres at the right pressure and with plenty of tread or just slow down. Then you should not have the problem.
Accidents happen, you can't change the past so don't feel bad. Just learn from it and look forwards and move on, you have exciting times ahead! (moving etc) :)

As for the accident, don't worry too much about it as these things happen in life. It is a life lesson that will help you in the future. It is called an Accident for a reason.
