I visited Ghana from December 2019 to January 2020 and this was my first time staying in an apartment with hotel amenities. My friend and I used a 1bed apartment for 9 days and paid $450 USD each. There was security, housekeeping, and restaurant. You could even have your clothes washed and the concierge was available. I really enjoyed my time in Ghana and I consider this trip my favorite so far! Apartments with hotel amenities for the win!

I love this video. Your point about preferring apartments is very interesting. I actually didn't realise that I also feel the same. Another interesting thing would be asking what the average occupancy rate. Sometimes lowering the daily rate can result in higher income via higher occupancy rates. Just a thought for some of the apartment owners.

Personally, I don't even think its a supply problem because most of these properties are sparsely populated or unoccupied. Nigeria and Ghana are just bad countries for investing. Everything is backwards and nothing makes sense. When a country is very very undeveloped, basic things become expensive because of how hard it is to do business.

Yeah I had to laugh out loud at the prices she was quoting. I think it cost so much is because most people who go to west Africa go for business so when your company is paying for your travel it doesn't really matter what the room prices are. If you are from there and visiting family you are not going to be staying in an apartment or hotel, that is for foreign business travelers and the prices reflect that.
