Made it look easy, might give it a go myself next time!
Go for it!
46 years old, starting up with RC cars after a hiatus of 30 or so years… used to masking tape and rattle cans / a bit of airbrushing - now very much looking forward to giving liquid mask and airbrushing a go after watching your video…
Nice music, good instructions, well edited - good work, I enjoyed watching the video - well done 👍🏼
Never too old to start again!! Firm believer in that you can enjoy this hobby forever... thanks so much for the feedback be sure to keep me in the loop on how it goes :)
I’ve never found an air brushing video that actually helps me understand how to do it. Just videos of people doing it. I’ve never got a good straight cut. I honestly wish I just stuck with spray cans and window masks
Only one way to learn , through mistakes.. :( haha.
Dam you made that look easy! I’m a one can wonder!
Im only 7 shells deep , much to learn aswell!
Oh man lovely, thank you heaps for this wonderful step by step tutorial. As a beginner about to start painting/airbrushing my fabricated products this is perfect.
Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you liked it :) good luck in your journey and be sure to let me know how it goes :)
Man, that color combo is so sick. The simplicity of your design is very effective, really good taste mate
Thanks so much! Appreciate you watching
Thanks buddy!
excellent tutorial - seriously. well done
Seriously appreciate for your feedback , many more painting videos coming soon 😀 thank you!
Even the simple paint schemes look complicated ....👍👍
Just need a little practice :)!
Nice tutorial!!!
Blades that come with the most exacto knives are the best all around blades, for straight lines, beginners, pros etc
Painter tip: Black covers everything so it doesn't need a backer
Awesome! Thanks for the tips
Excellent information! Thank you!
Welcome!
Great video love it. Will give it a try. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome. Let me know how you get on :)
Absolutely love the video! Going to give it a go myself.
What is the tool called to remove the liquid mask please?, as the link is no longer available.
Thansk for watching!
Thank you for the video, can I use a small air brush like you use for the black to paint the liquid mask as that is all I have.
You can! probably want to be looking at a 0.5 needle or larger though :) welcome!
What size nozzle and gun is the one you used to spray the mask?
Dang...you bought all the stencils (out of stock). 😮looks good man
oops! Thank you!
I did my first shell with masking the other day. The bleed was real, but was a good leaning experience! Some tips here that really mean i should have watched first 😂
Well done for going for it! they only get better with practice for sure :)
Time for stickers, lol.
Hello thanks for some tips, Where do you get you sticky stencil from , and do they have lots od designs??
Hey Darren! link in the description for the stencil I used :)!
Great video. I may do my next shells with airbrush instead of rattlecan. What do you use to cut the shell to fit the car? I can never seem to get the curves right. Thanks again!
Thanks! Make sure to use Rc body scissors , curved ones! :)

Are you supposed to sand the edges or anything after? That rough edge bothers me
Hey bro can you maybe send a link to a system you feel would be great for the body painting? Got some new bodies for mine, my wife, and sons tmaxxs and want them to look cool. Thanks man. Your work is amazing.
Ill get the info updated!
Awesome videos, what spray gun is that you used for the liquid mask
Thats what i would know too....
Do you spray shells for potential customers? Procat and Optima mid if you can help? Great job btw
Appreciate that! I only do shells for a few friends , I leave the paid work to the pros! haha.
Wow you lay it on heavy! I paint about 1/2 as thick.
This was one of my first, lots learnt since then!
@SeanyRC looks good! Im sure my set up is different then yours. And your good with liquid mask.
@traileater Thank you for the feedback and watching 👍
Hi. Nice vídeo. What spray gun are you using? Are you using it with The fengda compressor? Thank you.
Hey! Thank you :) I'm using the Iwata Eclipse HP CS , using it with the Fengda that's correct :)
@@SeanyRC thank you and Congratulations!
Question! . Why does that fastkolor brand paint, peal out easily?. After a great paint job ! That paint starts to peel out just touching. Should I use something on top to protect it?
To be honest it shouldn't! Is it old? Sounds strange!
Can you give us some idea of air pressure & needle size for spraying the liquid mask plz? It looks to be very thick. Do you let it down at all? Do you think it would go through a Paasche VL with a 1.07mm ?
I am currently using a larger spray gun and seperate compressor , testing a few different guns at the moment! I'm finding 50 PSI with a 1mm nozzle seems to be OK... so yes you should be fine!
@@SeanyRC Thanks dude
Great video. Could you post the link for the stencil again, for some reason ebay can't find it.
are you using the Fengda FD-196 compressor for spraying the mask? What is the pressure setting and which is the mask sprayer model?
I am not currently using the compressor for mask as im waiting for the spray gun, once ive tested the one ive got coming ill pop a video out! :)
Hi, do you have any update about the mask sprayer and the compressor you are using in the video?
Lovely work but do you scuff up the body? If not how does the paint not crack on your first roll over
I do lightly graze the body ( minus window area ) with a scouring sponge whilst cleaning. Not at all , it holds up well! You also back the colours with a white or a black depending on design , the paint is designed for lexan.
hello, beautiful video, what is the name of the shade of blue you use? Thank you. CIAO DA ITALIA . Max.
Thanks! is called Solid Aqua!
how do you clean the liquid mask out of your spray gun?
Just water! Super easy 👌 no need for anything more.
Where did you get the mask with the small holes?
Its Perforated Window vinyl! very cheap.
Are the stencil mask you you used reusable?
For sure! I just pop them back on the backing , can be used a good few times.
What airbrush did you use? Thanks
Link in description :)
What is that last color you applied?
Hobbynox Aqua Blue :)
what's the brand name of the stencil mask please?
Hey Nick , not sure where in the world you are but ive popped a link in the description.
I’ve used spaz stix liquid mask on 3 now and the mask gets almost impossible to remove. The last one took right around 4 hours to remove the masking. Any tips for that?
Ahh wow somethings for sure not right , I'm not familiar with that liquid mask , I use Bitty Designs product, apply around 3 coats and hair dry inbetween , then leave it for a good few hours / over night and its great! I'd imagine if you are following a similar procedure maybe the mask is off / faulty?
@@SeanyRC that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. I just got some bittydesign
@@shootertg you should be good now then! Maybe yours is either old or faulty in one way or another, let me know how it goes!
whats the stencil for the carbon effect... your link doesnt work :(
I'll get that sorted!
Which airbrush is it? Some of the links do not work
Ill get those updated , thanks!
What color pink is that?
Fluro pink 👍
Use 99% isopropyl alcohol it doesn't damage the plastic. Then use some good old fashion masking tape works a treat but each to there own and worked out ok.
Great idea.
Thought this was Seth Rogan at first lmmfaoooo lolol sorry brotha
Made my day!
How many PSI do you need for the airbrush to spray ? the paint looked quite thick from the bottle.
My question is tho...does this paint stay on? It don't starrt flaking and peeling off? awesome tips in here tho! Thank you!
For sure! if you use the correct paint it holds up well :) made for polycarbonate!
@@SeanyRC Oh ok...I thought ya were using acrylics lol
