China Airlines Economy Class | WORST Economy Seat in Asia??

Description: The flight has been delayed by 5+hours due to severe weather around Taoyuan airport. This is my second time experiencing this type of seat of China Airlines, and I can tell the seat was the worst seat ever. Overall, the food was fine, but I cannot understand why the drink service was unavailable during the meal service unless I asked them. Actually, the price of this ticket was quite pricy, it was around A$600 and I would never fly under this price. I've flown with EVA Air quite a long time ago with the same route, and it was a better experience with lower price. Thank you for watching!

I feel for you, man, this disastrous delay must've been attributed to the extensive runway repairs Taoyuan was undergoing a few weeks ago.
We postponed our trip when we read about the massive delays due to the repairs.
They said it would take weeks.
The aircraft 330 is the the worst so not surprised to hear about the bad seating
A330..such an outdated aircraft type. They gotta build an additional runway tho. 2 runways aren’t enough.
Just came back on China Airlines. Their seats are ok and the legroom is fair longer than any other airline. The problem is you really pay for the economy class of food. It is tasteless, no salt and pepper provided, plastic cutleries, no dessert but one cookie, no salad. Basic Chinese food with no other choices. I suppose we get what we pay for.
The seat itself was just ok, but it’s way too outdated. Compared to the major airlines like Singapore Airlines, Cathay or the middle eastern airlines, it lacks of the other condiments and desserts or salad. The taste was just fine, but it never worth to pay a lot for this unless you don’t have any other options.
CI's hard product is wildly inconsistent but even this is far from the "worst economy seat in Asia". Their a350's are actually quite pleasant to fly on and I've found the staff to be more attentive than most.
Yeah I know their hardware of the A350 is great, but this title is only for this specific outdated A330 model
EVA have a similar seat on some 330's. MU, CA have seats worse than this on long haul flights.

China Airlines has two versions of their A330s, one with an older purple seat and the other with a pink seat and a larger screen. I've taken China Airlines from Hong Kong to Taipei before on the second version and it was a better product. However, their IFE screen is still unresponsive and lacks other selections, compared to my flight back on an A321neo. I hope they will either get these seats retrofitted or get the A330s retired soon. Overall, at least they are not as bad as EVA Air's A321 (no seatback entertainment at all).
They will replace 330s to the dreamliner
Unluckily, I onboarded on the older seat version for two times. I onboarded on EVA air A330 for around 8 years ago, but it had newer version of seat so it was better than the China Airlines A330 experience in 2024. It must be retired asap.
Thanks for the review and the comments section, our connecting from PH to TW is 330's but from TW to CA is a 777-300ER.
2 hours of flight with wide body A/C... i think its still ok ... nothing to complain... at least its wide body A/C ... Anyway, Ci will replace A330 by B787-9/10 for short haul route soon.

I am Taiwanese but i only took china airlines for only 1 time because I choose the better EVA air😂
I prefer EVA air as well, and I wanna try Starlux one day 😝

So i guess things still haven't changed at china airlines since the 00s.
Quite many of the airlines retrofit their cabin after 10-15 year entering the service, but not in this case :(
