They didn't force them. Apple has been on the USB-C bandwagon longer than anyone, their Macs and iPads are USB-C. It was a matter of time and a logical transition. I can't imagine a reality where iPhones wouldn't have transitioned to USB-C.

Wanted the blue iPhone 15 Pro but got the Black instead. No regrets, the black is 🔥. Saw the blue has inconsistencies in colour variance which put me off as I wanted it to match my midnight blue MacBook Air.

In my opinion, the best phone in the iPhone 15 series is the blue iPhone 15 Plus, specifically the 512GB version, and I think it will be the phone of the year, if the Samsung S24 Ultra is not announced.
