The truth
I studied about the biography of Frank Abagnale Jr. He is truly a genius of his time. He posed as an airline pilot, a physician, a U.S. Bureau of Prisons agent, and a lawyer. All before he was 21 years of age. When he finally made a deal with the FBI and eventually became a consultant and lecturer for the FBI... He went on and and gave a heart felling speech about his life and how much he loved his parents. Truly remarkable man.

Blue Shell Not exactly. In each film, in order to pull off the big heists they needed a lot of small cons to work. Impersonating NGC officials, playing an inside man in a casino, conning a professional French thief, conning said thief again, planting people in important positions, even the 'Ella Fitzgerald' can be considered a con.
Jimbob1337 The con-men rob with their mouths, they don't call in a helicopter to pull a near impenitrable safe out of the top of a casino. Con-men will trick you into handing you the money willingly, whilst robbers like Ocean will distract you while they pick your pockets. There are many similarities between the two, and I am sure that many characters are both, but I think that WM has used this criteria (or something similar) when deciding on the list.
Blue Shell Fair point. And like I said originally, it should have been an HM for all the cons the crew DID pull alongside all the heisting.

I have found so many good movies through WatchMojo! This channel is what got me into movies. Before i Watched WatchMojo, I hadnt watched star wars, The Godfather, and i am going to watch the usual suspects now! Thanks so much Watchmojo!

In regard to Matchstick Men: I believe Frank Mercer should have been the chosen con artist of the film, even though his role was much smaller by comparison. While Roy Waller did have marvellous tricks up his sleeve, it is he who ended up a victim near the film's end; cementing the everlasting qualities that made it one of cinema's most memorable con artist films.
I just finished ‘Imposters’ on Netflix. It’s now one of my favorite tv shows. They say it’s a true story bc they con the viewer. There are so many twists and turns to this show- it’s a must, if you haven’t seen it already!
Number 1 better be, Frank Abagnale, from Catch me if you can. Because its based off a true story

Noticed it at number 4, when it said number 3 in the list...
I had to stop the video and check each of the items of the list.
It starts at number 5, where it says 6 on the list number on the video.
Then number 4, where it says 3 on the list number.
And then it goes back to showing the right list number starting at number 3..
Or it might just be a mistake.. >.
Catch Me If You Can - One oh my personal favourite movies!
How do we NOT include Diggstown with Lou Gosset Jr and James Woods. Con the crooked con man out of the entire town? Ex prison inmate and prize prize fighter and a hustler who's smoother than smooth. Challenge run the gauntlet. Bets get bigger every round.
Priceless. Woods at His very best.
My personal favorites are probably the Bloom Brothers from the Brothers Bloom ^_^ Great movie, though I've never actually seen people talk about it. Definitely recommend it though!

My favorite fictional con artist is Moist Von Lipvig of Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. And he qualifies for this list, as a movie was made of his first appearance: Going Postal.
A great one that did not make the list is Revolver with Jason Statham. The con that is run in the movie is epic.

Though this movie may not be well known,here's a con artist movie titular character to see:Miranda.The main character is played by Christina Ricci(aka Wednesday Addams in the live action Addams Family movies of the 90s),and she assumes three different identities to three different men:her boss,a ruthless businessman,and even her love interest-a librarian named Frank(played by John Simm,whom some people may know only as one incarnation of the Master from Docter Who),yet no one knows this film-especially when it's a London-based film,but even in a Top 10 worst British films list,at least have the decency to mention this film,Watchmojo!
