Man, I wish that was our rush hour.
For real
Same. Can’t wait to move somewhere less congested
@@giggityeffyou we are putting the house up for sale this week, stoked for no traffic.
@@Demetriusfunkmy rush hour is miles of plugged up highways for no where to ride but the shoulders
@@jesusamador4661 Same brotha
although the traffic wasn't heavy, I think it was a good show of how comfortable you're getting. try to be very careful with those blind spots, aka when you go around a car you don't know what's waiting for you on the other side. good job though bro, it's been cool watching you start on a 636 despite what all the internet says about something like that.
thank you man!! i really appreciate the support. and yah it was a little clickbait-y BUT you got exactly the point of me making this short. it was for the real ones tbh, was deff expecting some keyboard warriors to enter the chat 😂 🤙 and yah im deff gna be careful doing something like this. i dnt usually do it but this day i was feeling confident! thanks again for the kind words and stay safe out there 💚🤙
@@MedusaMoto good shit dog clean riding seemed pretty smooth and safe to me and i started on a 1994 cbr 600 f2 then quickly moved to a r1 you're doing great
@@kennybonds2192 thanks man appreciate that! man i was lookin at R1s the other day 👀
Bro nice vid, two tips: 1 - Don't sneak up on the back of cars if you can't see if they need to suddenly break for something in front of them. (you did this multiple times and many panic brakes happen this way) 2 - when you pass cars from their blindspot (left or right) ALWAYS assume they will suddenly merge in you lane. So instead of defending you lane, create a little more space away from the car your passing. This gives you space to react instead of being flanked . ( you passed super close to the cars in their blind spot multiple times)
@@hallmountfilmsand always use your turn signals, it's a good habit
That's some solid rev matching for a beginner.
you should watch when i first did it lmao. i was HYPEDDD
@@MedusaMotolink!!, im a beginner myself so i wanna see mistakes in order to avoid them
probably has quickshifter
@seanliver593 maybe, but he didn't use it. Watch both of his hands. Quick grab of the clutch and quick blip of the throttle.
I picked it up pretty quickly from driving manual. So satisfying when you get it perfect
Not hating bud, use those blinkers….. in my experience the most dangerous thing on the road is those 2 ton steel cans around you… the more they see you and your intentions the more you can keep that sweet ZX singin!!!!
nahh appreciate the tip! honestly i have to deff use them more. i know it’s a bad habit not to
@@MedusaMotoI always ride (at least) slightly faster than traffic. No chance a car ahead of me would see the blinkers on my cbr in the daylight. Moving slightly faster than everyone helps me know nobody’s coming up in my blind spot that would need to see my rear blinker which also really isn’t great since it’s integrated into the taillight.
It’s easier to predict what’s infront of you than what’s behind you. Ride as if you’re invisible regardless.
@@tomsellout9576 yes! Always assume you have not been seen. One of pieces of advice I was ever given and has saved my skin!!!
Aye bro I appreciate you posting. I just bought a 2016 Ninja 650 and just started going on express ways with speed limit of 55mph. Each day I ride I get more comfortable and plan on going on the freeway maybe end of this week or next. It’s a fun journey!
yoo congrats on the 650 man i love those. take it one step at a time and only do things when you’re comfortable. there’s no rush. thanks for the support man and ride safe out there! 🤙
I told my mom I would never go on the highway on my first bike, ninja 500. First thing I did was get on the highway 😬😂
I had a ninja 650 for my first bike. It's a perfect starter bike imo. PLENTY of power for someone just starting out, good low end torque too. seating position isn't as agressive as a full blown sport bike. It's heavy enough to learn weight transition, but you can still pick it up by yourself if you send it a little too hard and drop it. Man I loved my 650.
Bought my first fzr600 1994 and probably took it around the block. Bike has literally no drivers aid…. 😭😂
I have a 2017 650, absolutely love the bike, mines a z though so not as pretty, fun as crap, got a yoshimara pipe for it, best thing I did, keep safe man an enjoy it
Rider from UK here, firstly crap description because for me, this was a good show of how to patiently get around traffic. I thought you demonstrated good techniques with those rev matches and reading of the road, you do you bro just always be safe then you can have fun haha! Great vid
The only thing I could criticize is lane position while he’s behind the white CR-V
He did an amazing job and didn't drive crazy or anything bad or harmful .... Good job man enjoy your bike bro be safe 👍🏼👌🏼💯
thanks man appreciate you!
@@MedusaMoto absolutely bro
your rev match downshifting looking good. im jealous... i feel like i might just be overthinking it. i shall keep practicing!
thank you man! i still need work as well tbh bc sometimes ill miss the blip. but that does happen when i overthink the process. i think it’s more feeling the engine than anything else. it’s kind of hard to explain, but i watched youtube videos before trying it and practiced the movement without the bike first. like literally sitting in my chair and mimicking every movement (blip, clutch, shift pedal) i honestly practiced that a couple of days, before i even tried it on the bike. see if that kind of practice works! it eliminates some of the thinking you do on the bike bc you would already be kinda familiar with the movement. hope that helps and keep me updated! appreciate the support as always 🤙🙏
@@MedusaMoto what the hell is a blip?
@@dragonsharker4793 it basically means quick light throttle input.. at least in this situation
It’s blip, clutch, shift? Yours sounds good The video I was watching I thought it was saying clutch, blip, shift
@@iphantom9064 clutch. Shift.lil blip before release clutch. Eventually just becomes one fluid motion.
If this is rush hr traffic u have it super good wherever you are.
mmm not quite. just great timing i guess for the clip lmao. im in NY
@MedusaMoto lol bro ik where u are 😂 levittown

@@MedusaMoto This is “rush hour” in LI??? Man you better come to the city and record a vid of you going through traffic on the Henry Hudson 🤣
Come to anywhere in the Chicagoland area(including Joliet) and experience some rush hour traffic 🙂
If that’s ur rush hour traffic don’t go to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Dallas, Houston, Shreveport, Cincinnati, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Orlando, Miami, Charlotte. I can name so many more as a truck driver but I think you get the point 😂
yeah..haha im actually in NY. but just the timing i think of this clip where i had so much room

R3 in Atlanta rush hour taught me a lot of different things, rev match, throttle and clutch and patience since I couldn't lane filter because I was new from MSF course
hell yeah!! i think lane filtering has a lot to do with confidence as well. for me im always afraid i wont be able to fit between two cars, and forget that a bike can fit easily through tight gaps
R3 in Atlanta rush hour taught me that my bike was slow as fuck lol. I was pegged in 6th and getting passed by 1980s Corollas. It felt dangerously slow at 115
@@Pinkskull69420 did you have to red line to get to 115? I have a r3 and it’s my first bike. 2 months now

yessirrr! go and get that 636! but agree need to take it easy. it’s very easy to do stupid s*** on them with all that power
Turn signals work pretty Sweet on , the new 636s and any bike, try them out next time 👍
you see what had happened was, my msf bike didnt have them. so now i have no idea how to use them 💀
You’d be appalled to learn that my 600rr doesn’t have blinkers, or a tach/speedo cluster for that matter. I’m usually already past you by the time you’d see them anyway. Sorry.
This is the greatest rush hour traffic I’ve ever seen
You’re doing it right. On a bike you never want to stay in the same spot for long, especially in blind spots
I aspire to have to self control and patience you do bro. Keep it up.
My boy on Long Island love to see it👍🏻
lfgggg brooo! strong island 💪
That rush hour is nice. Not all jam packed like Dallas
yoooo texas is getting bad lmao. bc everyone is moving there
Beginner motorcyclists when they fully clutch, should not fully clutch. Rather they should leave a one finger (index finger for reference) wide gap between the handlebar and clutch lever. This is so its easier to find the biting point when accelerating in hopes that you dont jerk. Its how i found the biting point on my 70cc motorcycle. (Yes, i am in Pakistan.)
But its just a suggestion, you can try it out at home.
ooo good tip! appreciate you man
@@MedusaMoto good to know i helped!
I just sat on a zx6r yesterday and my god that thing was so uncomfortable for me lol. But I’m a 5’3 woman. Great riding fam!

I would use turn signals though, every bit of information helps riders
Hey man, glad we got a new rider. You dont know till you know. I'm a newish rider. Only been riding for 4 years and I've had 5 bikes. Take time to invest in yourself before trying to buy stuff for the bike. Take some classes and always wear gear. A thousand dollar suit is better than a 20k burial or a 100k hospital bill. Be safe and have fun.
all very true statements man. deff gotta look into more classes and stuff. you ride safe as well 🤙🤙

His rev matching was perfect. That ain't no beginner.
Use your blinkers my man. You want everyone to know what you are doing so hopefully they won't try to turn into you or speed up on you while you are maneuvering.
nah it’s a bad habit. deff trying to break it. appreciate you!
Cant wait to be like this. I have basically no choice to get one. I needa save money this seems like a great route. Looks fun thanks for the inspiration 💯💯✊
hell yeah! may i suggest a 636 😈
nah bruh this shit aint cheap
#busagang
Main thing is to try to lean the bike when u turn as much as possible
👌👌 agreed. deff getting more comfortable every day
Not too bad, just watch out when you’re passing at speed, make sure you give extra room. I don’t recommend passing more than 5mph/he 10km/hr to stay on the safer side.
yepp appreciate that! i deff need to be a little more careful
Bro as a new rider that not too bad traffic still gives me anxiety 😂😂
glad in 2024 they gave it a proper tft dash. may want to trade up when it comes out.
i was thinking about it! i talked about this in one of my videos. im glad they listened looll
The front looks better to
Looking good dude. One thing though is your turn signals when changing lanes. The key to safety is visibility, and predictability.
99.99% of automobiles "nearly killing you" is ignorance, not malignancy. (To be clear, I made up that percentage but it is somewhere way over 75% in reality)
this is a beauty to watch as you were being very alert with all the cars around you and not assuming that they’ll stay put and you can just zoom through, coming from someone who is also starting out- this is something to learn from! Also Is that a stock exhaust or aftermarket? If so, which is it? Looking to get a Zx6r as my second bike, love the perspective!
Going to look at one of these on Friday probably gonna get it
Rush hour? That’s like a Sunday morning traffic
lol
Is it better to downshift to a traffic light or clutch in then brake until then? Cuz I clutch in and brake
better to downshift and use some engine braking i think! maybe just a personal preference? but i feel engine braking you dnt have to rely on the brakes heavily
Downshift. This isn't just with engine braking as you'll be in a better power band to utilize quick acceleration if needed. I do this on all my manual transmissions.
Me riding for 2 yrs and feels like an intermediate
i was like 4 months in i think. idr
Being a fellow long islander you know this isn’t rush hour on Hempstead turnpike 💀

... ZX - starter bike ... yeah that sounds like a good idea
I mean you're doing good, but always remember to be safe when there's a lot of vehicles around. I love riding but I never do anything crazy in traffic. When the road is open that's when I let the throttle do its job. But you can still have fun and be safe at the same time.
definitely a beginner because you could of used 2nd gear for the whole video . other wise this is decent safe riding.
100% not a beginner. lol
I see ya bro! I dont ride with tags so i wouldnt be caught going that slow lol
Check sight line, check clearance GAS GAS GAS counter steer in and out that shit and break it down once you get clear of cagers 🤷🏾♂️

Rush hour traffic? Maybe in Mayberry, that's less than the traffic at 2am where I ride..
The only thing i saw that was wrong in this video was all the 4 wheelers on the road clogging up valuable space.
