I love that scene! It's so great! I have a fascination with the thought of seeing bugs and insects the size of cars and trucks.
Scientists should try keeping and breeding bugs in 35 percent or even more oxygen levels in labs and see how do they evolve.

This is something I think about all the time. I'm fascinated by it. It would be terrifying for bugs to be the size of cars. Probably even more scary if humans were shrunk down to bug size. I love all those old giant bug movies from years ago. I wish they were still made.

Even if the oxygen level will return the one of the Carboniferous period, insects will not return giants. To became giant you shouldn't have no one that hunt you. In Carboniferous period the insects had no predators, but today birds and animals will eat them all if they tried to became bigger

@@mightychroniclesuraniusvol6449 Arthropods don't have tracheas, they have a respiratory sistem connected to their skin. The more oxygen, the more they grow. But they cannot add too much weight in their exoskeleton because unless they would be crushed by it. And there are anathomical limitations that avoid them to evolve new legs (there is a reason why all the insects have six legs and all the spiders eight, and never happen a mutation that permit them to evolve more legs). More, as I said before, today there are a lot of predators. Even if they were able to evolve a super exoskeleton, it wouldn't be enough to resist to the jaws of cats, dogs, wolves or any other carnivorous animal that wouldn't hesitate to hunt such slow and easy prey. They would became extinct in just few days. During the Carboniferous period the arthropods were the only animal on land, and so they can grow, but today is different

A recurring dream I have it starts off the same every time.
I’m walking in a Forrest when I hear the scuttle sounds. Then it gets foggy and then a black and gold garden spider the size of Prius just drops down in front of me. I run surprisingly fast but when I turn around there are about 100 of these huge monsters chasing me. I legit wake up every single time and it’s right before my alarm. Think it’s symbolizes the day can’t get much worse from here.

35% Oxygen level is very safe to breath by humans up to 40% oxygen is used for recreational diving, infact 100% oxygen is safe to breath long term in atmospheric pressure. Oxygen toxicity can only happen under pressure more than atmospheric pressure. The risk with such high oxygen concentration is fire hazards and not oxygen toxicity.
For example 35% oxygen would be come toxic above 4 bar pressure (4 times atmospheric pressure) which would be the case at depth of 30 meters underwater.
