We recorded this 4k ultra hd video during our trip to Positano, Italy on June 2022.
Positano, also known as “the pearl of the Amalfi coast” or "vertical city", is a cliffside village located on the Amalfi Coast to the South of Italy. The village became a wealthy market port of the Amalfi Republic from the 15th to 17th century and has only continued to grow in popularity over time. By the mid-nineteenth century, however, the town had fallen on hard times. More than half the population emigrated, mostly to America.
Positano was a relatively poor fishing village during the first half of the twentieth century. It began to attract large number of tourists in the 1950s, especially after John Steinbeck published his essay about Positano in May, 1953.
The town's rapid growth from a small fishing village to an international destination is credited to the rise of the tourism industry.
Our guided walking tour is about 2.8 miles (4.5 km) long and covers most attractions and historic sites of Positano.

Great video. Visited Positano a few years back, before Covid. Impossibly crowded! No chance to park your car anywhere. Go by boat instead. The Amalfi coast is incredible beautiful!!

@@bluehope42 Oh, yeah, it's the planning that's the most fun! Once the planning begins, it's like we're there already! I took a couple years to plan Paris, and it all paid off. We changed our minds on stuff dozens of times. I must've updated our itinerary about 20 times. But it's great fun. You look online and think, oh that looks interesting. I can't help but laugh and shake my head when I read people on travel Facebook sites and they say they're going to, let's say Rome, in two weeks and they're asking people for advice on where to stay, where to eat, and what to see. ??????????????? Oh well, people travel differently, I guess. We've already got a dinner reservation in Rome in 2024. It's what I do!!
@@kensellar Yep me and my wife plan our vacations a year ahead of time. We booked italy completely more than a year ahead and it gave us so much time for planning and research! Glad were not the only ones
Awesome tour of Positano. The tourist season is heating up, I like the crowds. The town is beautiful as ever. One noticeable difference is in the Fornillo Beach. I thought it look much bigger. One of these days I plan to visit Positano from New York. I enjoyed tour very much, thanks.

Hi, I'm going in October. What is the name of the street with the beautiful views of the coast line where everyone takes pictures. And there are tables lined up along the fence. This is at the beggining of the walk. How do I get there when in Positano.

My wife and I are traveling to Italy next May 2023 and Positano will be one of our destinations starting in Venice then to Florence, Naples, Positano and Rome as our last destination. I see that there are NO trains that go to Positano. We don't want to rent a car as we have heard parking is limited and very expensive. What is the best way to get there and are there cabs in Positano to get around?
The best solution is to reach Positano by ferry or hydrofoil, from Naples or Sorrento or Salerno. Ferry stops are present all over the coast and the neighboring islands. Taxis are available in Positano, but they are very expensive, for example from Naples to Positano costs 130 euros. There are SITA buses all over the coast, but they are slow for narrow streets and traffic. The best solution is the ferry or hydrofoil. Ciao ciao.
